22/10/2025: Another great find—steeped in old-world charm. The Italian dishes were delicious and well-executed, the service attentive, and the atmosphere timeless and welcoming. I’m already looking forward to going back.
28/09/2025: A typical mountain restaurant, an elegant restaurant in a RIGHTLY rustic setting—we're in the mountains! The food was excellent, the service very professional and fast.
We ordered risotto, and it arrived in 15-20 minutes, although rice isn't quick to cook. Spectacular appetizers and a wide selection of wines, especially reds.

We just had lunch here, but it was great. Good soup and a very nice cheese/meat platter.
13/09/2025: The Barba Ferrero Refuge was a pleasant surprise, especially from its manager.
A helpfulness and kindness I've never encountered in the many refuges I've visited. We only stopped for lunch, but next time we'll try to stay a night. Highly recommended.

17/09/2025: We had lunch at this refuge, reached after a lovely hike through the woods of the Val d'Otro. The dishes are simple but well-prepared; we had the house antipasto, which was excellent. The mountain cheeses were spectacular, including the venison mocetta and lonzino, as were the ricotta and goat cheese. The polenta concia was perfectly made. Definitely worth a visit.

15/09/2025: Sunday lunch, the day's special was lasagna, "reheated" and served cold. I asked to reheat it again, but it was still barely warm, and the flavor was nonexistent. My husband's portion of tagliolini was a child's size. It's a shame, because I'd been there before and insisted on going back.

04/10/2025: Two spritzes, a carafe of water, two platters of cold cuts, and a second course of ribs with polenta... €60, and he even told me he rounded up the price in my favor... I forgot, a basket of bread, too.
Too expensive.
20/08/2025: Lovely and quiet place.
Reserved for 25 people, including several children. The polenta was almost inedible, flavorless, and the concia was excessively drowned in oil. The appetizers were average, and they were just cured meats and cheese to be sliced, so it's hard to go wrong unless they're bad. The service was handled at the bare minimum.
One very negative note, in my opinion, was that after lunch, they made it clear they wanted to leave and closed the large, beautiful umbrellas that protected us from both the sun and the few drops of rain while we were chatting with family.
I'd call it rude and impolite, considering that 25 people left €40 each.
But never mind! Let's overlook the lunch, which is always debatable and depends on personal taste, but the rest was just plain bad, and that's why I don't recommend it and won't be returning.

02/08/2025: MAYBE THERE ARE SOME THINGS TO REVIEW
We stayed at the Mira and decided to stop for dinner at this restaurant. When we booked, they didn't inform us that the kitchen would close at 9:00 PM (they gave us a table at 8:30 PM), nor did they inform us that dogs are not allowed. Instead, they exulted upon our arrival, saying, "Since we can't choose our guests, at least let us choose our pets."
€50 per person for tagliatelle and cabbage rolls of average quality is perhaps a bit excessive.
UNREQUIRED BUT NECESSARY ADVICE:
- Improve communication, especially from the owner or manager.
- If you give a table at 8:30 PM and the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, don't pressure guests to choose their dessert with the main course. Don't give them a table, so you and your guests will be more relaxed.

Il menù oltre ai classici piatti tipici offre interessanti digressioni. Personale cortese e premuroso. Veramente gustoso il riso secondo una ricetta nepalese, eccellente l'hummus con verdure saltate. Buona e abbondate la trota al timo e fantastico il dolce millenium. Prezzo corretto. Bravi !

01/10/2024: Locale molto accogliente, personale gentile, servizio veloce, prezzi giusti (ma i dolci troppo cari). Abbiamo mangiato polenta concia che non ci ha convinto del tutto. Molto apprezzata la brocca d'acqua portata appena seduti. Bravi.

Il personale è stato molto gentile e cortese. Le focacce erano semplici ma buone. Locale carino con uno spazio esterno molto piacevole e adattato anche all’inverno.

22/02/2025: An hour of waiting between the time we ordered and the time our three plates (soup, pasta, and risotto) arrived. Luckily, we didn't wait for our cutlery to be brought to us and went to serve ourselves. Perhaps the team was particularly small that day.
