01/06/2025: It is unfortunate not to express a positive opinion for a club that would have the potential to offer more. Few tables to serve, yet a very long wait (an hour to get the first courses and without motivation from the staff). Decent dishes, with peaks towards the top (ex. the octopus and the cod) and others unfortunately towards the bottom (tasteless asparagus risotto and without… asparagus, “seasonal” vegetables out of season etc). Club atmosphere, nice outdoor pergola but restaurant bill that, due to the above-mentioned shortcomings, appears inadequate.

09/06/2025: Disappointment compared to expectations from a 4 star I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Alter in Barge last weekend (31 May 2 June) unfortunately with a disappointing experience compared to what was expected. The official website stated the presence of a swimming pool, an element that influenced our choice, but once we arrived we discovered that it was still under construction. After expressing our disappointment, we were not recognized any type of compensation or discount, except two free entrances to the swimming pools to use as soon as they were ready (I live more than 3 hours drive from the hotel do you think I'll go back for a dip in the pool??) The rooms are beautiful and well-kept, but the overall services, including the organization of the staff, are not up to the standard of a 4-star structure. In the morning, the same person had to take care of both breakfast and check-out at the reception, with obvious difficulties in managing both activities. The breakfast itself was rather basic and not adequately stocked: it would have been desirable to find a greater variety and, above all, more attention to replenishing what was running out. Even in terms of hospitality and support, expectations were not met: when we asked the receptionist for some advice on what to visit or do in the surrounding area, the information received was vague, not very precise and seemed improvised, a sign of poor preparation on the part of the staff. The staff was always courteous, but clearly insufficient in number, and the management/ownership seemed distant and not very attentive to the guests' experience. After our reports, we noticed that the site has now been updated, finally indicating that the swimming pool will be available from July: information that should have been clear already at the time of booking. Too bad, because the potential is there, but transparency, organization and attention to the customer must improve significantly. Approximate management.

10/06/2025: We went to eat on a Saturday night, for my birthday. Really excellent food, Piedmontese specialties cooked to perfection. Very efficient and friendly service. Very pleasant atmosphere, in a small town in Monferrato. They also prepared a delicious cake for us to celebrate our birthday. Absolutely recommended. Vincenzo

21/06/2025: I know Mrs. Cristina and I know how she works. Top! All her team included, the menu is really good... Platters with local products and second courses.... like polenta with venison and cheek with potatoes, and first courses with ravioli and toma and risotto with toma. 💗

11/06/2025: Excellent setting located on a plain that opens into the Ma stallone valley, just before Cravagliana. Quiet and well-kept environment. The guys are exquisite and the food is quality.

01/05/2025: We have been coming here for many years, but unfortunately the quality of the food has gotten much worse! The ragù was acidic, the veal with tuna sauce was completely dry and the Russian salad was very salty (if they could eat it!). To conclude, instead of traditional bread they give you frozen rubber rolls like those on airplanes... or not! We won't be back again. In Maiora

14/06/2025: We went to the Genziana refuge on a hot day in June. House platter, Tajarin with goose ragù, sliced ​​beef and pears cooked in wine with cinnamon ice cream....all excellent. Precise and fast service. The refuge is not very visible from the main road but just a few steps away for a pleasant lunch break.

11/05/2025: Siamo andati una domenica a pranzo in famiglia in 6, abbiamo ordinato 6 antipasti 2 primi e 4 secondi, 5 antipasti sono arrivati dopo un’ora, il 6 dopo un’ora e mezza, persone assente con risposte vaghe. Qualità del cibo scadente, fritto misto, misti si fa per dire, solo acciughe e panatura, pieno d’olio e molle. Non lo consiglierei al mio peggior nemico. Il peggior posto in cui sia mai stato.

05/06/2025: Dream location, with the possibility of eating outside, pool and lake view, makes you feel immediately on vacation, very well-kept environment also with very beautiful flower details. Genuine cuisine, tasty dishes, cooked ad hoc, kind and welcoming staff, very attentive to the customer's wishes, reasonable price, in short really recommended, I will definitely return! And then on nice days you can also enjoy the pool and direct access to the lake, deckchairs available, paying the entrance fee.
