A simple yet varied and high-quality menu, friendly staff, and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere are the hallmarks of Pizzeria il Sole. Even home deliveries are extremely accurate and punctual. Truly competitive prices considering the quality of the ingredients and the overall service. The best pizzeria in the area, hands down!

03/06/2026: A pleasant evening with some colleagues. Quality food, served with imagination and originality. The appetizers are delicious, and the first courses feature unique recipes, though not always entirely convincing. The only major drawback is the cost of parking, which is independent of the business. Parking costs over €5 for a dinner are a penalty for any business.

26/05/2026: A unique restaurant, like those of yesteryear! A quaint establishment with a waiter and owner who knows the entire menu by heart, combined with excellent osteria-style cuisine, generous dishes and a wide selection, featuring excellent ingredients. Highly recommended!

02/05/2026: A historic pastry shop in Ascoli Piceno. The only real drawback is that the bathroom is located in the basement and can only be reached via a completely enclosed and extremely slow elevator, which is terribly claustrophobic. Customers should be warned of this inconvenience before ordering.

20/08/2025: Connected to the Hotel La Perla, I used to come here for breakfast and dinner. Eating with a sea view is unparalleled. The breakfast was reasonably well-stocked, with excellent croissants and even the canned fruit was a welcome change from what I've seen at other hotels. The only flaw: it lacked savory options. The cuisine was excellent, with fish served daily and all of the highest quality. Perhaps a little more attention to portions wouldn't have hurt. The dining room staff was incredibly friendly.

08/05/2026: As always, very, very good! Please don't even think about ordering truffles out of season! They're frozen and don't have that fresh truffle flavor. They have delicious lamb! And it's great for pasta, any kind! It's not for nothing that it's the shop favored by locals and artisans.

01/09/2025: Authentic cuisine in a simple setting. The food is good: we tried both the fried lamb and the pizza, and everything was delicious. We also started with a delicious mixed fried appetizer. The portions are generous, as is customary in these parts. The service is young and friendly, but it's appreciated. I recommend it.

01/06/2026: Disappointment. I'm deeply disappointed because my expectations were high given the location and the ambiance. We waited 40 minutes to place our order. The menu was rather sparse, with three first courses and three second courses, one of which had been changed because the lasagna wasn't available. We asked if it was possible to have what was written on the blackboard at the entrance, but they told us that some dishes had sold out by midday. We had the option of a single appetizer for 25 euros, with seven courses, two of which were unavailable. They offered me cuttlefish instead of monkfish, which wasn't as good quality. We decided on the appetizer to start. We asked for more bread (there were only four slices of bread in the basket, one each) and were told that the bread was OUT OF STOCK... at that point, our adventure at that restaurant ended. Never again!

01/06/2026: If I could give less than one star, I would… we called to book a dinner for four. We arrived on time and sat down at a table. Problems began: outside the restaurant there was a daily menu with appetizing dishes, but many of them weren't on the menu inside. Needless to say, the ones we were interested in were sold out… our choice (of all four) therefore fell on a mixed seven-course (fish) appetizer. Given the not exactly modest price (25 euros per person!), we imagined they would bring us a reasonable amount of each appetizer. Instead, a small dessert plate arrived with two anchovies, a spoonful of fish salad, and a tiny salmon roll (so little we thought it was just a taste). When the bread was finished (there were four slices), we politely asked for more, and what did they say? That it was all gone!! Absurd! In the meantime, the other "appetizers" arrived. Two (two!) Ascoli olives and two mini (very small, they seemed defrosted) peeled shrimp. But the finishing touch was the mussels! They were finished (…). They brought us a bowl of clams (full of sand), half of which were closed. For all four of us! Okay, but then there was supposed to be monkfish… but no! Finished!! In its place they brought us a bowl of cuttlefish with peas for four, inedible! The end. All for the modest sum of 134 euros. If they had given us a discount for the aforementioned problems, we would have understood. Instead, not even half a euro less! One star

16/03/2026: Had lunch here during the classic car rally, strongly supported by my friend and member Franco, a huge classic car and Fiat 500 enthusiast, along with the members of the association. The food was home-cooked, plentiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very large, divided into two large areas for separate events. A great experience, and thanks to everyone!

30/12/2025: We return every time we're in the area. The food is truly excellent. Homemade bread, tasty appetizers that change seasonally. Excellent and attentive service. I recommend booking on weekends. Ample parking. Recommended for celiacs.

31/12/2025: In the heart of Ascoli Piceno, this small but welcoming restaurant offers good food and a warm atmosphere for a pleasant break. The simple yet meticulously crafted decor, along with the friendly, professional staff, complement the excellent food. High-quality, expertly prepared ingredients made our aperitivo truly special. The fritto misto was truly unsurpassed, and the homemade Ascoli olives were a real discovery. All accompanied by an excellent red wine, a blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese that caresses the palate. Recommended!!!

14/12/2025: Definitely the best breakfast bar in Ascoli Piceno. The only one that's finally reclaimed the post-cappuccino and croissant era. The menu offers a wide variety, from sweet to savory, and the products are absolutely top-quality. I've never been disappointed here. I recommend it to anyone looking for a proper breakfast or brunch.
