13/08/2024: I'll start by saying that I find this ice cream shop quite good, but tonight I was disappointed: at 11.40pm I asked for a crêpe which was denied because it was "closing", when in reality it closed at 12.00am... they should specify the duration of their services, also because up until a minute before my order they were making one. 24/11/2024: Da qualche tempo non venivo alla Vecchia Varese. Oggi a pranzo sono tornata con i miei. Non delude mai. Ottimo cibo (più che di orecchia di elefante si potrebbe parlare di orecchia di mammut, viste le dimensioni!), i ragazzi sono sempre gentilissimi e attenti. Rapporto qualità prezzo superlativa. Ambiente sempre accogliente. Ogni volta esco con la voglia di tornarci! Bravi, 10 e lode!

14/08/2024: Pleasant discovery in a small village not far from Varese. Food, especially meat, of high quality and pleasant environment. We will definitely return in cooler weather for a nice grilled meat dinner.

08/11/2024: Roman pizza: thin, crunchy, with a delicious flavour. Pizza menu with a huge choice. Varied beers, some of which are uncommon in the area. Excellent staff, very nice owner, quick wit, fun and attentive to customer needs. Small, welcoming place, it feels like being at home. A place that makes you feel at ease. There was no place like this in Varese. Highly recommended!!!

13/10/2024: We spontaneously decided on this pizzeria while passing through years ago. Pizzeria is over the top and more of a bistro. But we were completely impressed by the friendly staff. The food was as requested (special pizza and children's portions for the kids). The taste is completely ok.

03/12/2024: Conoscevo questo ristorante venti anni fa come un ristorante carino dal buon cibo. CI sono andata di recente con una amica e l'ho trovato cambiato in meglio. Ho trovato gli interni più eleganti e curati. Probabilmente ristrutturati di recente. Il cibo ottimo. Io ho mangiato un risotto con l'ossobuco che era semplicemente favoloso, ho fatto i complimenti allo chef. La carne era morbidissima, il risotto giallo buonissimo e abbondante al punto da non riuscire a terminarlo. Dolce buono. Ci andrò sicuramente ancora.

A few months later I confirm the good opinion on the tasting menu prepared for a company dinner, the service needs to be improved regarding the wines, 2 out of 3 bottles were not at the correct temperature while for the champagne we had to request the glacette several times. ..

03/12/2024: AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE FROM ALL POINTS OF VIEW The Le Arcate restaurant was a real surprise! It's true: we arrived on a Monday evening, certainly not the busiest day of the week for a club. And so we had the service and kitchen completely at our disposal... But, beyond the lucky moment for my wife and me, everything we experienced in those hours was truly very beautiful and good. First of all, a courteous, friendly and always very attentive service. The cuisine is excellent, the dishes are simple but all well executed, with great respect for the raw materials and the cooking methods. The tartare with black truffle and the fried artichokes in batter are excellent. The first courses were very good: both my wife and I had ravioli with porcini mushrooms, butter and sage with truffle. For the second course, an excellent steak and sardines for my wife. Excellent desserts: the red fruit caramelized apple with vanilla cream was, according to my wife, the best she had ever eaten! I found the creme brulee with caramel and crunchy really delicious. The prices are excellent and in any case very interesting, for being in the province of Varese. The place is very nice, perhaps slightly outdated but, I must say, I don't mind this type of atmosphere. Among other things, I really appreciated the separate entrance from the room, so that diners are not disturbed by the comings and goings of customers and drafts... The wine list is not very extensive (which I also approve of in a place of this type), but the bottles are chosen with great care. The mark-ups are correct, considering the labels (we bought a Pinot Noir by Elena Walch for 35 euros). In short, an excellent experience, truly unexpected. Thank you with all my heart!

19/11/2024: Raw porcini mushrooms with good parmesan, porcini tagliolini and truffle nothing special, the flavor of the truffle was not noticeable and not even that of the mushrooms, the strongest flavor was that of the butter. COLD environment, in fact I had to eat with my jacket on! Good service

05/12/2024: I tried the restaurant, considering the fact that it is one of the historic restaurants in Varese, over the years I have seen a slight decline in quality. The environment is informal, the service is a little slow, the staff is very courteous, welcoming and helpful. The dishes offered are very good and the raw materials are of excellent quality, in my humble opinion I would give a refresh to the 90s style dishes. In my opinion with a few small changes it could return to one of the best restaurants in the city. Prices are average for what is offered, the wine cellar is good with a wide variety of bottles.

01/12/2024: Every time I am in Varese, I always order a pizza at La Paranza because it is a guarantee in terms of the quality of the food. So much so that every time I have to choose a pizza I always find myself in difficulty, I'm spoiled for choice even in terms of dough: turmeric, kamut, multigrain, and so on (I waste more time choosing a pizza than eat it). It should be noted that the peculiarity of the Restaurant-Pizzeria is precisely the quality of the ingredients used. I wanted to celebrate my birthday yesterday with my family here in Varese for lunch and for the first time I chose dishes other than pizza. I had an amazing dining experience! I had the yellow fin tuna tartare with avocado cream as an appetizer and spaghetti alla guitar with octopus, burrata and cherry tomatoes as a first course. I really have to say that the products were fresh and were full of flavour. The staff were extremely friendly, well organized and attentive and make you feel like part of the family, making your stay even more enjoyable. You immediately notice that, as soon as you enter, the atmosphere is welcoming and well-kept (also perfect for a romantic dinner :D). I highly recommend this Restaurant-Pizzeria to anyone who wants an unforgettable gastronomic experience! Elisha
