28/09/2025: We spent a weekend there for a seminar and had a wonderful time! Special thanks to Chicca, Carla, and Eleonora for their warm welcome: they truly made us feel at home. The breakfast buffet was rich and varied, and every lunch and dinner offered new, tasty, and carefully prepared dishes. The clean, comfortable, and well-maintained rooms completed a perfect stay. We would love to return!

02/12/2025: There were 17 of us for lunch on Sunday and we ate wonderfully. All the dishes were excellent, from appetizers to dessert. The Taroz, sciatt, and pizzoccheri were sublime. Very beautiful restaurant. The service was attentive and available to meet every request. What can I say... Excellent!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

29/11/2025: We had an appetizer for two, a charcuterie board, and a scampi. Then we had two portions of pizzoccheri, both excellent, and a tagliata with potatoes, 1/4 cup of wine, a bottle of water, dessert, and coffee. It all came to just over €50 for two. Homemade cooking, delicious ingredients, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be back.

17/10/2025: What can I say? We stopped today for a double espresso and a cappuccino for €4.60. Perfect. And the young waiter was very kind. Always a stop when we come to Livigno. Well done. 👏

30/08/2025: Every year I spend two weekends in Santa Caterina and every year I come to eat here!! Everything is delicious!! The staff and owner are wonderful!! Last time I was shocked by the pork and lamb shanks!! AMAZING!! And the pizza is worth it too!!

17/09/2025: We've been back a couple of times already, not to stay, but for dinner: exquisite home-made products. We also tried Taroz (a traditional Valtellina dish, now hard to find). The owners are lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

02/09/2025: I confirm the positive things I've already said. Wonderful location between Gavia and Santa Caterina. Stunning views. Everyone is friendly and smiling. Trust their recommendations, the specials of the day... but save room for the mixed cheese platter (superb cheeses) and, of course, the desserts made with their milk. The mountain hut is also a halfway point/stop on hiking trails. You can't miss it. I'll definitely return and recommend it.

06/09/2025: The pizza has always been good and still is, but the burger I had tonight was unacceptable, dry as a shoe, the meat overcooked and dry, with very few ingredients. They describe it as if you were getting a mountain of food with the usual descriptions from Michelin-starred chefs, but instead it was a total disappointment. Only the fries on the side were good. The same goes for the one my friend had, even worse. I'm not posting the photo because I hope it's an isolated incident. Very good beer. The place is always noisy even when not crowded, and the service is average. No justification or apology for my complaints in the face of evidence... Average price. Since she insists, I'll post the photo so she might understand that my question was sarcastic. Even though I asked her to tell the chef to be more generous, it's clear she didn't fully understand my complaint. On the right is your indicative photo on the menu. We raised our voices because it was barely audible. I apologize if we turned the volume up. What do you mean, "If it wasn't to my liking, I could have left it... opted for a pizza." I leave a €16 burger and spend another €12 on a pizza, maybe? Anyway, there wasn't even a trace of Nduja, so much so that the bread inside was perfectly dry, as if it had just been taken off the grill. There were four tiny pieces of pepper, a potato, olives and capers, no aroma, and the beautiful Provolone del Monaco wafer. There was, in fact, salami. Know that every now and then you might run into someone who complains and doesn't want to waste their money, even being considered a fool. Taking a step back, perhaps offering coffee, can often be enough to keep customers. Evidently, this too escapes them. Good luck.

15/12/2025: Without having informed you about the apps that still offer the option of charging with chademp or type 2, you can only find CCS, and this has caused us problems. There used to be a free service for those who stopped at the bar, which had the correct plug. The owner tells me he'll notify the companies that currently manage the charging stations.

14/12/2025: I've stayed at this property several times and have always had a great experience. The rooms, restaurant, and services are top-notch. Excellent breakfast.

11/10/2025: We had dinner there two nights. The place was very nice, the food was delicious, and the attention to detail was excellent. The staff was really attentive and friendly, our compliments! The music was also perfect for a bistro. We'll definitely be back. Recommended!

24/11/2025: A pleasant surprise, they have several typical dishes from Valtellina's rural culture. In addition to the classic pizzoccheri, I discovered Taroz and Tzogoiner, which I hadn't heard of. Everything was delicious. The welcome and service were simple but very familiar, making you feel at ease.

29/09/2025: We went to the Vecchia Carbonera for two evenings, a group of 14. I booked and agreed on a menu with Mr. Franco, an excellent person and a true restaurant professional. On Friday evening, two people were quite late, but he prepared the requested dishes on the spot, demonstrating his helpfulness and courtesy towards the customer. A gesture greatly appreciated. The recommended menu was excellent, featuring local dishes from pizzoccheri and sciat to tortelli with bitto cheese and bresaola. The grilled meat on a stick was a fabulous dish.

27/10/2025: Very kind staff and a beautiful location in the middle of the woods. Unfortunately, I didn't like the pizzoccheri. They were "bitter," I think, because of the cheese used, and the sciat were salty.
