10/08/2025: A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a breathtaking view of Bergamo. The hotel and room were very clean, and the staff were very friendly. The pool and jacuzzi on the terrace were excellent. We had a great time! I highly recommend it.

The menu listed incorrect prices, and the bill included hidden charges. When we asked for clarification, the manager started yelling at us in Italian (even after we explained we only speak English), waving his hands aggressively and insisting we pay the inflated amount. The staff just stood there laughing. I strongly advise avoiding this restaurant — it’s a place of total disrespect toward customers and blatant dishonesty!
(the menu clearly states the dish: «Cutlet with fries = 8€» On the receipt they charged us a cutlet for 9€ and separately potatoes for 5€. Where do these prices come from if one dish costs 8€?)

The prices are quite high.
22/07/2025: The ingredients are undoubtedly top-quality, and the staff is extremely friendly. The only flaw was the service: we ordered white wine, but when it was delivered to our table, the bottle was warm because it was out of the refrigerator. We had to wait 20 minutes for it to be chilled in ice. The prices were high for the quantity. Overall, a mediocre experience.

27/07/2025: We were served three slices of bread, each topped with one slice of bacon, without asking for them. We thought it was a free welcome snack, but were charged €12 in the end. No one informed us. It felt misleading.
Tip: Always ask if something is included.
Not tourist-friendly.

04/05/2025: We almost stopped by chance, on the way to Fontanella, at this trattoria which looked very modest from the outside. From the first interactions with the service staff we understood that we had landed in the "right place". Aside from the kind courtesy of those who assisted us, the dishes on the discreet menu were tasty, carefully prepared, and in some cases a little outside the otherwise limited Bergamo cuisine. For example, I would mention the tasty snails served on a bed of polenta. Too bad that in the end there was no room to enjoy one of their desserts. We will definitely be back to taste more.
01/05/2025: Nous sommes allés manger dans ce charmant petit restaurant pour Noël (7 personnes) Excellent accueil et service, produits locaux et cuisine traditionnelle. Bonne carte des vins. Je recommande vivement cet endroit, une valeur sûre !

06/06/2025: I went to this restaurant for a dinner with friends and, from a culinary point of view, there was nothing to say: very fresh fish, well-prepared and really tasty dishes. The pizza was also surprisingly good, with a light and well-cooked dough.
Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the absolutely inadequate service: the staff was rude and too intrusive, with inappropriate attitudes and unwanted familiarity, bordering on embarrassing. In a context like this, you expect professionalism and attention to the customer, not inappropriate jokes or hasty tones.
A real shame, because the cuisine deserves another rating. I hope that the management can intervene on the staff, because with a service up to par, it would truly be a 5-star restaurant

20/07/2025: When they first opened, the food was very good. I've had takeout several times, ordered it, and picked it up on site. But at some point, they stopped making pita gyros in the evening. We've been recently, but the quality has really dropped and the prices have gone up. There's a cover charge, and if you ask for bread, it's extra. It's a shame.
19/07/2025: Unfortunately, although the food wasn't bad, they served us a dessert with sorbet instead of vanilla ice cream and baklava that was probably made a few weeks ago, as the consistency was similar to cardboard.
We asked for bread about 5 times, and they brought it to us for dessert.
Coffee and liqueurs ARE NOT FREE, contrary to what was written on the menu.
Furthermore, the menu was missing about half of the items listed.
Unfortunately, the menu is unclear.

The flavors of home and of the past, I always recommend trusting Federica the owner and chef because she knows how to direct you on the dishes of the day making you discover or remember exceptional flavors. We recently ate a homemade ravioli with caciocavallo and exceptional capocollo, while the one in the photo was a "simple" pasta dish with red meat sauce that opened up memories of Sundays at grandma's house!

11/08/2025: An accessible and certainly convenient place for those looking for a cheap and affordable pizza and/or pasta dish. We went on the weekend, and it's often a valid alternative to traditional and commercial fast food. The people who work there definitely make a difference and strive to provide that extra service that makes the place stand out (in a positive way). There are many self-service tables, reflecting the true nature of the place. There's a play area for children, so if you're planning on going on a Saturday night, make the sign of the cross. It's located 10-15 minutes from Orio al Serio Airport and about 20-30 minutes from the center of Bergamo. If you don't feel like cooking and want an affordable place, then this is the place for you.

09/07/2025: Very good pizza, courteous and very fast service, spacious but a bit chaotic environment. The only flaw is the beer: a medium blonde at a too excessive cost is the reason for the 3 stars. Finally, the coffee can be improved. Too bad!

03/08/2025: Returning to Podere Castel Merlo, seven years later, for an anniversary. Unfortunately, I don't live nearby, otherwise I'd always celebrate anniversaries here! This time, we dined outside. The garden was beautiful, with its lights creating a relaxing atmosphere, and the soft sound of the water in the beautiful pool in the background. Delicious food, beautifully presented, down to the smallest detail. Excellent service, compliments to the waiter: we were pampered from start to finish.
09/07/2025: We had a lovely stay here and also a fantastic dinner. We are both vegetarian and they prepared a 3 course meal for us with the best ingredients! Thank you again to the chef and team for making it possible
