15/03/2026: Mate Bar is the perfect place to feel at home. Among the many bars in Trastevere, this is one of the few that still manages to capture the authentic spirit of a pub, combined with the charm of the Roman streets. Fair prices, top-notch cocktails and beers, and a friendly crowd.

07/03/2026: A bar where we spent several hundred euros between five people. Not a single round of drinks offered, and the waitresses weren't even friendly; they made it clear that if we didn't spend more, we weren't welcome anymore. Avoid it.

06/02/2026: The rooftop bar by the Spanish Steps is a great place with a view of the steps. The atmosphere in the evenings is unforgettable with DJ music. I highly recommend it.

05/03/2026: I've frequented this place before for its restaurant. This evening I went for the pizza. It was good, but they make it thin. The ladies had the calzones, good dough and filling. Accompanied by red and white beers. Good service with young waiters.

Lunch was accompanied by a girl who sang in a very soft and pleasant way, we were very satisfied and I would really highly recommend having an experience in their place, you will not be disappointed.

20/02/2026: We went here for a drink on Thursday evening... DISASTROUS EXPERIENCE At least 5-10 minutes passed before anyone deigned to welcome us, and the place was half empty. A young man told us to sit wherever we wanted among a series of tables. After a few moments, the owner arrived from a distance and indignantly told us that the table we were sitting at was for more than two people and that we couldn't sit there. We pointed out that the place was empty and that we'd been told to sit wherever we wanted. No way, we were forced to sit at a corner table despite the two rooms being half-empty. Another 20 minutes passed before we ordered, and finally the two Spritzes arrived... THEY WERE TERRIBLE: the "fizzy" part was missing, and the flavor of the Campari and Aperol was nonexistent. It felt like drinking flavored still water. After just one sip, we decided to get up and leave, but not before informing the "nice guy" owner, who didn't dare say anything to us: perhaps because he knew we'd been served two tasteless drinks? I always start from one premise: you, the owner of any establishment, like my money and want it "good," and I, the consumer, expect the same from what I'm offered. Just like in a restaurant, you send back a poorly made dish. Nice place, but the owner is unfriendly and doesn't know how to interact with customers, the drinks are undrinkable, and the food prices are sometimes insane (supplì cost €6!?!) If we'd ordered wine, things probably would have gone differently. But if you don't know how to make cocktails, don't offer them!

01/02/2026: A small restaurant, but meticulously maintained. The food is excellent, and the wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive to your needs. The price is reasonable. You can tell the quality of the ingredients used. I recommend it!

I was offered water which I said yes to as I thought it would be tapwater however was charged €3.40 for a bottle Coffees are great as you would expect in Rome

15/03/2026: As Open Baladin customers for over 15 years, leaving the place feeling like we'd been ripped off is something we never imagined. We ordered four beers, two chicken strips, two salads, and a cheeseburger. The beers and chicken strips were nothing to write home about: they were as good as ever. Unfortunately, the disappointment came with the salads and the cheeseburger. The salads were served in a small Chinese-style bowl, with an embarrassing amount of ingredients. The menu listed avocado, but it wasn't there. The manager told us about a mousse, not listed on the menu, which, however, was practically invisible in both portions. At €13, such a proposal is simply unacceptable. The cheeseburger was no exception: the portion was very small, and there was practically no trace of cheese, which should be the main ingredient of the burger. We mentioned this to the staff, who apologized and offered us a liqueur or coffee. A gesture that, in a situation like this, seems almost paradoxical. The final bill, close to €100, was the icing on the cake. Despite our observations, no one bothered to even offer a small discount. For a historic Roman establishment, where years ago people would queue for hours just to drink a great beer and eat an excellent burger, this experience was genuinely disheartening. If this is the current situation, we prefer to remember the Baladin of yesteryear.

19/03/2026: Small, cozy place. Excellent pizza, thin and crispy. Appetizers, ditto. The desserts are homemade and amazing. The owner is very kind. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
