13/08/2025: Last night we went to the "Sal de Mar" restaurant, and it was a bit of a rollercoaster experience. After a 40-minute wait, during which we practically watched the tables that arrived after us become Olympic champions in speeding up their plates, our dishes finally arrived. My friend's mussels were good, and my scallops au gratin were too, although a bit small compared to the ones you find around.
But then the absurd began: the bread was so old it looked like a historical relic, and when my friend's pasta arrived, it was so salty it looked like it had been swimming in the ocean. We sent it back, and then they asked us three times if we wanted another, as if repeating the question would make it more appetizing.
To top it off, I had specifically asked for the fish to be cleaned, but instead it was full of bones, like an unsolicited treasure hunt. The side potatoes were bland, almost like tasteless boiled clouds. Frankly, €40 for a sea bream for one person, served in these conditions, seems decidedly excessive.
I admit I felt embarrassed listing all these mistakes, and in the end, driven by hunger, I ate out of desperation, more out of necessity than pleasure. The only positive note was that the fish was fresh, and you could taste it.
In short, between vintage bread, ocean-quality pasta, tables arriving late and served early, and a comedy-like service, it was an evening more worth talking about for a laugh than for a return visit.

17/07/2025: Wir feierten den Hochzeitstag meines Freundes in diesem versteckten Juwel einer Taverne und waren wirklich beeindruckt. Eingebettet in einen friedlichen Olivenhain, ist die Umgebung sowohl einzigartig als auch einladend, so dass wir uns sofort wie zu Hause fühlten.
Das Essen war einfach außergewöhnlich - frische, lokale Zutaten, die mit viel Liebe und unglaublichem Können zubereitet wurden. Die Vielfalt der Gerichte, insbesondere der Fisch, war hervorragend. Jeder Teller spiegelte den tiefen Respekt vor der Tradition und die Leidenschaft für das Kochen wider.
Was den Abend jedoch wirklich unvergesslich machte, war der Besitzer. Durch seine Wärme, Freundlichkeit und echte Gastfreundschaft fühlten wir uns wie geschätzte Gäste. Als sich der Abend dem Ende zuneigte, erzählte er uns Geschichten, die unserem Erlebnis eine sehr persönliche Note verliehen.
Es ist selten, dass man einen Ort findet, an dem alles - von der Atmosphäre über das Essen bis hin zu den Menschen - so perfekt zusammenpasst. Diese familienfreundliche Taverne mit ihren vielen kostenlosen Parkplätzen ist ein Ort, an den wir uns gerne erinnern und an den wir gerne zurückkehren werden.

22/07/2025: Absolutely nothing special. Three meat courses, none of which were noteworthy, and... the icing on the cake... eaten by mosquitoes. Not a mosquito coil, a lamp, nothing. I don't recommend it.

22/07/2025: 10/10. Exquisite and very welcoming staff. We arrived late and without a reservation. They welcomed us warmly, and the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked. Not everyone at our table ate fish, and they made sure this person ate well, too, using everything they had available. Perfect customer service.
If you're passing through Muggia and want a delicious fish lunch at a more than fair price and with genuine staff, stop by this osteria...just like I will next time ❤️

09/06/2025: Als "Wiederholungstäter" wurden wir auch diesmal wieder nicht enttäuscht.
Schöne Terrasse, schönes Lokal, netter und zuvorkommender Service und last but not least viel Gutes aus dem Meer und aus dem Keller.
Wenn man in der Umgebung ist, unbedingt ausprobieren.
Die Preise sind übrigens der Qualität entsprechend.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von sieben Personen
Und alle Speisen die serviert wurden waren einfach fantastisch . Das Thunfisch Tatar einfach lecker . Aber auch die Hauptspeisen einfach ein Traum .Mir viel die Auswahl richtig schwer,weil alle Gerichte auf der Karte sehr verlockend klingen . Empfehlen kann man auf jeden Fall das Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten ,aber auch das Rinderfilet war ein Gedicht . Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nächstes Jahr wieder wenn wir in Muggia sind .

14/08/2025: Excellent brioche made fresh daily in the am and illy espresso here. The small panini sandwiches are excellent. Prepared on small baked fresh roll with cotta and fromage. The ladies are friendly and eager to serve the customers. The line of locals speaks for itself. There is a constant stream in and out of local workman and residents. Stopping for a quick bite and an espresso or cappuccino. Highly suge

06/08/2025: A spacious pastry shop located on the outskirts of Muggia: perfect for a strategic break, especially for those like me driving to Croatia. Plenty of seating both inside and out, ideal in any season.
The selection of desserts is truly extensive, ranging from traditional to more classic options: the brioches are fresh and delicious.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Recommended for breakfast or a snack before getting back on the road!

04/08/2025: I visited the Italian restaurant Risorta with high expectations, but unfortunately, the reality was far from perfect. Despite the elegant decor, views of the bay, and friendly service, the dishes didn't live up to expectations, either in taste or portion sizes. The dishes were mediocre, lacking the intensity and freshness one would expect from Italian cuisine. Furthermore, the portions were surprisingly small, and the prices were definitely inflated for the quality offered. The baked potatoes, such a simple side dish, were disgusting! I felt like I was paying primarily for the location and decor, not the food itself. I paid €250, and no one was satisfied. It's a shame, because I was hoping for a true Italian feast. Don't eat there!
03/08/2025: I had the pleasure of dining at this splendid seafood restaurant overlooking the sea, immersed in a relaxing atmosphere with meticulous attention to detail. But it's the food that truly made the experience special. Every dish served was a triumph of freshness, authentic flavors, and elegant presentation. The attention to quality and seasonality of the ingredients is clearly evident, as is the skill and passion of the kitchen. The staff was impeccable: friendly, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. A special mention goes to young Marco, a truly talented waiter: polite, kind, always smiling, and available. His friendliness made our evening even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent seafood in a unique and relaxing setting. We'll definitely be back!

07/08/2025: Es gibt viele positive Aspekte dieses Lokals: Verlässliche Öffnungszeiten (in Porto San Rocco nicht selbstverständlich), herzliche Eigentümerfamilie, vernünftige Preise und tolle Lage. Die Pizzeria bietet eine große Auswahl an wirklich köstlichen Pizzen. Die Trattoria-Karte ist ordentlich, aber leider werden (zu) viele Convenience-Produkte serviert, was wirklich schade ist. Sie sind nicht schlecht, aber man merkt die Massenware. Die Getränkeauswahl ist einfach, birgt aber kleine nette Überraschungen wie die Biere der südtiroler Brauerei Forst.
27/07/2025: Che bello!!!! Ambiente familiare, Simonetta una proprietaria che ti fa sentire a casa. Il mangiare? Che si mangia puzza , pesce è veramente fotonico. Ho mangiato una pasta con gli scampi ( giganti) che era fotonica!! Non lo consiglio... LO STRACONSIGLIO. Complimenti a tutti. Torneremo presto
