21/09/2025: We stayed at the inn on the night of June 20th and 21st.
We truly enjoyed our stay.
The welcome was impeccable and very warm.
First of all, we were pleasantly surprised by the genuineness with which we were greeted upon our arrival, and then we were amazed by the refined and delicate cuisine, which met our needs (he is an omnivorous gourmet and I am a vegan who isn't satisfied with the usual salad).
The dishes were each more beautiful than the last in presentation and each more delicious than the last in taste.
Our room was delightful, with great attention to detail, despite its seemingly simple appearance.
We slept wonderfully all night thanks to a very comfortable mattress.
The bathroom was spotless.
In short, everything was perfect.
We recommend this property to those who love warm environments and attention to the little details.
10/09/2025: A few nights ago, I had dinner with three friends at Povero Diavolo, and it was a truly enjoyable evening.
The restaurant, in the center of Poggio Torriana, is elegant, welcoming, and immersed in a tranquil atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food won us all over. Among the dishes we tried, I especially recommend the Spoja Lorda: a simple first course with a surprising twist thanks to the candied lemon, which gives it an extra kick.
In addition to traditional dishes, the menu also offers an international selection with "Traveling the World," an original and unusual option, especially for the area. The tagine, served in the characteristic terracotta dish, was one of my favorites: beautiful to look at and delicious to taste.
I will definitely be back! ❤️

05/09/2025: We went to this gelateria to end an evening on September 1, 2025, recommended by friends.
We moved to Milano Marittima in April, and I hadn't yet had a chance to try their gelato. What can I say? SUPERLATIVE! We tried the flavors: Black Hawaii (if I'm not mistaken, that's what it's called), Ricotta al Sale, and Lotus. We fell in love. Truly special and friendly people, with whom we even had a chat.
P.S. They make their own cream. Try it, you won't regret it! Highly recommended!

The ambiance is wonderful in the old town; with a gentle breeze, you'll want to sit there forever.
Giovanni makes his own "spritz" with lime and mint; we drank several; it's wonderfully refreshing. Be sure to ask for it; it's not on the menu.
We also enjoyed two snack plates with Parma ham and mascarpone spread.
With the coffee, we also had a biscuit, typical of the region, with almonds. Very delicious.

11/10/2025: 3* Michelin, twice winner of World’s 50 Best Restaurants (2016 and 2018). Half of the items are worthy of being associated with one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been. Bean-shaped pasta from the different Italian regions paired with beer; burnt tomato pasta; duck; panettone duck and the milk pre dessert were all divine. Foie Gras in the ice-cream was a nice surprise.

For me, this "return" can only have this dedication.
The Maestro was my "dream" in #MilanoDaBere with that almost musical address, first *** in the "red" 1986 of Italian social-cultural-gastronomic history.
And today my quintessential essence can finally be satisfied with Marchesi's reinterpretation of #RisoOroZafferano…
The menu title remains unchanged, continuing the previous one "With a little help from my friends"; But this time the friends who "help" Bottura are not the four minstrels from the song, but 13 + himself (I imagine him inspired by Memory), indescribable palatal authors.
The tastings interpret Tradition in an almost dystopian way, not dishes but concepts of the time, evoking places that for me (then) existed only on paper: 2 above all, the now legendary TRIGABOLO in Argenta (then an avant-garde restaurant when the adjective was relegated to literal movements); TRATTORIA CANTARELLI in Samboseto, a history that becomes legend (in the ** conquered in 1970 and never lost until its closure on December 31, 1982)
And then those names... Nino Bergese, Mirella Cantarelli, Igles Corelli, Corrado Assenza, Fulvio Piergelini... It seems like a symphony performed by Bottura, transposed by the euphoric, joyful-playful, irrepressible Dudamel in the historic 2007 performance of the fourth movement (allegro con fuoco) of Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World"
... And my imagination is exalted.

PS. Some will say, yes, it's a beautiful story. And your impressions of the dishes? A review of the restaurant? Bottura among the tables? I take it upon myself to say that at Francescana, these would be just opinions, while the meaning of it all is the EMPATHY with which, for about 3 hours, we immersed ourselves in the world of the Other.

It was an "incursion" full of magic.
The lockdown had inevitably slowed down our processes of discovering (and rediscovering) gastronomic traditions.
So the transition from "but who knows if..." to finding a table was almost impromptu. Certainly aided by the slow restart...
Bottura cannot be classified. He's simply a UNICORN.
There's no point in trying to review him!
You arrive in front of the door on Via Stella, ring the bell, and let yourself go. Only to come to your senses upon exiting, when you don't know whether to laugh or believe (the works of art you saw - scattered here and there, yes - but much more on the table).
Because here, cuisine, tradition, flavors, invention, creativity, research, vision, and healthy madness blend together in a dimension of pure light.
Looking at the successive interpretations, you imagine Bottura always balancing risk and calculation.
This time we dreamed of crossing the most famous pedestrian crossing in the world: the one on Abbey Road...

I categorize restaurants, but for Osteria Francescana I had to create a separate category: UNICORN
We're not in a restaurant but in an art gallery where masterpieces are presented in edible form.
Given what I said at the beginning, reviewing Bottura is impossible for me. We can all share our impressions, but here we're at the quintessential level of food.
It even transcends the very concept of food, which loses its function as nourishment and projects itself into an absolute and unreal dimension.
I'll close with a "beautiful, psychedelic, spin-painted veal, not flame-grilled" interpretation: prodigious.

20/09/2025: Popped in for lunch on Friday at noon. Each dish was a work of art. We had gnocchi with snails, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms (in season), and the zucchini dish. Each presented harmonious combinations of flavors and textures. They provided a basket of sour dough bread that was perfect for getting the last bits of sauce. Presentations were colorful and artistic. The service was friendly and efficient. The restroom was very clean with a design that would be very accessible to persons with disabilities / wheelchairs. So glad we found them.
Amending my review to say that we enjoyed it so much we decided to make it our last meal in Parma before catching the train to Milano. Today the new dishes tried were the bucatini with asparagus & caviar, and spaghetti with coconut, cashews, & oysters. Everything was as perfect as yesterday.
19/09/2025: This was an incredible dinner in Parma. Quite unexpected. Not your typical Italian restaurant. It was an Italian, French, Asian fusion IMHO. Really should have a Michelin star. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. They helped with wine and spoke excellent English. We shared 4 dishes. First they brought an amuse Buche. Then we shared cipolla with Comte sauce, then the tagliatelle with porchini mushrooms, then the fish (cod on our visit) with corn, then the chocolate dessert. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better.

01/09/2025: A modern, elegant location, not gaudy, with a relaxing atmosphere. The dishes were excellent, both in presentation and, above all, in taste. The wine cellar was fantastic. We followed the sommelier's advice (the owner, who is very professional and knowledgeable), and, as with the dishes, they were top-notch. A very, very pleasant experience.
31/08/2025: Extraordinary experience: impeccable cuisine, balanced flavors, and attentive service. Truly one of the best dinners I've ever had. Highly recommended; prices are in line with the level of service.

02/09/2025: If you are ever travelling through Modena you must stop & try the sweet treats in this pastry shop. Simply delicious & very fresh. We loved them so much we ordered two of our favourites. Highly recommend the ricotta cheese cake with berries 🍰 . The chocolate tart was also amazing.

The staff are truly welcoming and convey the passion of those who truly believe in what they do. Highly recommended for anyone looking to treat themselves to a sweet treat in Modena.

05/10/2025: A well-deserved 5 stars. This was my first time ordering two takeout pizzas from them. I was very pleased with the quality of the pizzas, which arrived hot and were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find a pizzeria close to my home that offers excellent value and very friendly staff. See you soon!
04/10/2025: Disclaimer: This review is based on my experience at this pizzeria over the past three and a half years. In terms of flavor, it's, in my opinion, one of the best delivery pizzerias I've ever tried, especially the best in Zola. This is probably also why they're overcrowded. In fact, in the last three or four orders, I've always received one or two incorrect pizzas and delays beyond the agreed-upon time (ranging from a few dozen minutes to an hour). Service has therefore declined. The final negative is the prices: they weren't exactly cheap until today, but with the latest menu, we've reached a peak, with increases of up to 37%! Pizzas have gone up to €13 each, some starting at €9.50 on the previous menu; the increases have become increasingly modest as the pizzas are considered simpler (the margherita and buffalo mozzarella have seen increases of "only" 50 cents). The "only" is in quotation marks because I remember well that this is already the third (if not fourth) menu with prices changed in three and a half years. It seems to me that the limit has been reached. Also, consider that ordering a "gourmet" pizza and making a small change/addition (dough or ingredient) can easily cost over €15 at a takeout pizzeria. Finally, I remind you that they don't accept meal vouchers, they don't offer loyalty discounts (after a certain number of pizzas, one is free), and the price for a free drink has increased from €25 to €35 over the years. I recommend reconsidering everything.

13/10/2025: These sandwiches are delicious, large and fresh, top-notch mortadella, and abundant ingredients. With a sandwich for a snack, I didn't even have dinner. I ordered #15. Really excellent, and the price is right. A must-try in Bologna, as recommended. The only downside is that you have to eat it on the street or sitting on the sidewalk.
13/10/2025: A great bun filled with a heap of Mortadella and other ingredients you order. The bun is toasted, crispy, the parmesan added another dimension to it. You have to try this!

21/09/2025: We stopped for lunch at this beachfront establishment, and while the woman serving us was very kind, I can't praise the food we ordered. The pasta was made with a fish sauce that was clearly frozen (with perfect rectangles of calamari), despite her assurances that it was fresh. When I pointed this out to my colleague, she was annoyed and said she wasn't in a restaurant. The fried food was also clearly frozen and not very crispy. Catering doesn't necessarily mean owning a restaurant!
31/08/2025: I love this little place. The staff is really friendly. Even at the end of the season, they still have a smile for everyone. The spaghetti with clams tasted like seafood. Kudos to the really friendly staff.
The beer by the glass is excellent.
