10/12/2025: It was a flawless meal. The paper-wrapped vongole is a must-try.
This is my seventh day in Italy, and so far, it's the best restaurant I've ever had.
It was even better because it had parking, which is rare in this area, and I was really touched that they guided me to my car when I left.
If I ever come back here again, I'll definitely come back.

I visited again after two years, and the vongole was still the best.
I actually wasn't a huge fan of vongole, and I've tried Choi Hyun-seok's vongole in Korea, but I can't say it compares to this place.
I'd definitely visit again if I were to return, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
I ordered the course again this time and was satisfied, but I really wanted to order two bowls of vongole.
The bread before the meal was also really delicious.

09/01/2026: I've been to this trattoria before under the previous management, and the quality and flavor of the dishes are beyond question; everything is excellent. But I have a few comments regarding the quantity and price: €20 for a plate of pasta a genovese with 10 rigatoni, €24 for a lamb main course with three pieces, and in total €180 for four people: a first course, a second course, two side dishes, a half-liter of wine, and two bottles of water. I'm not arguing with the price, given the location and the day (New Year's Day), but with the quantity of the dishes.
06/01/2026: Highly recommended. The mixed antipasto platter is generous and features typical local flavors. Vittorio is a truly attentive and genuine host. The pasta alla genovese we shared after the appetizer was also exquisite. Not to mention the lemon tiramisu, a real treat... a complimentary liqueur to finish.

It’s brilliant: the staff is so friendly and welcoming, the ambiance is perfect, it’s very relaxed compared to the Main Street places, the food is excellent and the dessert with almonds and mascarpone etc is unbelievably delicious 🤤😋
No doubt: just go there😉

The room was clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and available to meet guests' needs.
I recommend it!
31/12/2025: The service is absolutely amazing! The staff are attentive and the breakfast is wonderful. Parking is right next door which is RARE to find in Amalfi with easy access to the bus stops. The beds are plush with large TV and plenty of entertainment options.

03/01/2026: A restaurant in a beautiful setting, the decor is fantastic. The owner, a sister couple, are extremely kind and attentive, they strive to provide the best experience. Even though the place is a pizza place, we didn't eat pizza, but we were still very satisfied with the food. The prices are quite high, but this is completely understandable given the huge number of tourists. We had to wait a bit for an empty table, but the beauty of the place compensated us for that.
07/12/2025: The restaurant is located at the very top of a long staircase. After entering, we asked the sophisticated-looking gentleman next to us what he had ordered, and then we decided to order the same thing (pizza: Chiara).
It turned out to be an amazing pizza!! The crust was incredibly soft yet crispy, with a wonderfully caramelized aroma, and the topping was plentiful of juicy meat. Every bite was so satisfying 🥹
I highly recommend everyone to try it!

27/07/2025: This restaurant has very tasty, home made and home grown food including home made wine. It is in such a beautiful and relaxing setting in the valley above Amalfi. The hosts were lovely and very friendly. There is a significant walk up the hill but is completely worth it for an amazing experience. I would definitely return again if I was in Amalfi.

Después de cansarnos un poco de las mismas opciones de comida en Amalfi, nos encontramos con este lugar, ¡y qué hallazgo fantástico! La comida era absolutamente deliciosa, elaborada con productos frescos cultivados localmente, que realmente se podían saborear en cada bocado. Incluso las bebidas eran caseras, lo que añadía un toque auténtico y único a la experiencia. Los precios eran muy razonables, especialmente considerando la calidad y el cuidado que se pone en todo. El personal fue increíblemente amable y servicial, haciéndonos sentir realmente bienvenidos. Sin duda una de las mejores comidas que tuvimos durante nuestra estancia. ¡Muy recomendable!

31/10/2025: A great place away from the center. It has a view of the mountains. The owner is friendly and it feels old-school.
They offered a complimentary limoncello, but they brought me a bottle and left it. Drink as much as you want. It's simply amazing. I don't think it'll be the same for everyone, but it's a very nice place.

07/12/2025: One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I found this restaurant during my vacation on the Amalfi Coast and never left it for the entire trip. Excellent food, a varied menu for all tastes, and incredibly professional and friendly staff. The owner is exceptional, attentive to his employees and always on top of managing the dining room. I live far away, but I'd go back even from home. I've tried several dishes, all excellent, but their Nerano has stolen my heart. The desserts, all homemade, are also excellent. The Lemon Delicatessen was the best I've ever had. A breathtaking view overlooking the Amalfi Coast, and more than fair prices for the quality of the food and the fast, attentive service. I recommend this place to everyone for any occasion. I'll be back soon!

11/01/2026: I'd like to point out that we didn't have the pleasure of eating at Cartari, but I'd like to comment on the owner's behavior, which was extremely rude and unprofessional.
Today, Sunday, January 11th, we had booked a table for 12:30 PM, but unfortunately, as often happens in the area, we encountered some traffic. We even tried to call, but unfortunately, we weren't able to. We arrived at 1:15 PM. The owner bluntly told us, "I'm sorry, we took your table away from you," without even offering an alternative or showing the slightest apology.
I'd like to point out that we had three small children, ages 1, 3, and 6.
When we asked, "You could have called before giving the table to others..." The response was... "I shouldn't call anyone."
I understand that we were late, but there are ways and ways to treat people.
Yes, you're in Amalfi, so there are always people, but you don't behave like that.
Truly a huge disappointment. A huge one.
And we went there on the advice of a friend from Amalfi...
You can imagine...
13/12/2025: The restaurant I used to frequent before COVID-19 has closed down, so I was searching for a place to eat when I found a trattoria that seemed to be frequented by locals. I went in. I had steamed mussels in white wine, seafood scialatielli, and house wine. I thought the food was pretty good. I think it's reasonably priced for Amalfi.

12/01/2026: I was recently invited for dinner here, a friend paid so I cannot tell the prices!! The place is very warm and hospitable and the service wonderful and friendly. We all ate different fish based dishes and beer and wine and all 4 of us were VERY satisfied indeed. The server then offered us a glass of amaro (digestive) so we left full and very happy.

08/01/2026: Excellent experience at La taverna del Duca Amalfi! We enjoyed both pasta and meatballs,pizza, and everything was absolutely delicious — full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The quality of the food was outstanding. The service was fantastic, especially thanks to our waiter who was very friendly, attentive, and professional. He made us feel welcome and took great care of us throughout the meal. A wonderful restaurant with great food. Highly recommended!
