"Al Pesce D'Oro" In Amalfi

We stayed at the hotel in April and were very well received. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable rooms with a wonderful view. Nothing fancy, but everything done with great care.

First of all, the B&B is very nice, kind staff and the breakfast is delightful. The view is beautiful even though the main coastal road with honking busses is just in front of the house. Nice big room for three with a balcony. Amalfi is about 30 min walk along that same road which is rather nasty in the dark since there may be much traffic and no dedicated space for pedestrians. The bus stop is just outside the door, but during Easter, the busses were so crowded they wouldn't even stop for us. An alternative is taking the bus to Pogerola, get off at Vettica and take the stairs down ...Altogether a pleasant B&B and helpful staff. The restaurant is, I was told, run by different owners. The menu is mostly seafood. I (a single mother with two vegetarian adolescents) thought we'd cut costs and asked the chef for a simple pasta with tomato sauce for the kids. I didn't ask the price but it turned out to be 19 Euros each on the bill. Questionable. For myself I asked for some catch of the day and had a plate of decent pasta with a little filet of scorpion fish on top, according to the menu 9,80 Euro per 100 g. My guess at what it weighed would be less than 100 g. Turns out this very simple plate cost 59 Euros since the whole fish was weighed (488g) and charged, even though the entire remaining fish was discarded (I was told). I was really angry so the chef gave me a discount of 20 Euros, explained everything and said he was sorry, but I must admit I still find the pricing incredible and feel fooled. Learned my lesson and will not return.

Romolo was fantastic! We have a big family with many children and Romolo and his staff were so kind and patient with everyone. We absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was incredible!! 10/10 rating! Definitely check this place out!

This review is for the B&B and the restaurant. The B&B is super clean, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and good. The service is outstanding. You feel welcome and cared for. It is the perfect place to recharge energy and go back to exploring the Amalfi coast during the day. The connection by bus was easy to and from Amalfi. The restaurant located below the B&B rooms was very tasty. Probably the best pasta with seafood I tried in the whole trip. Definitely a good experience. I recommend both B&B and restaurant.

If you are looking for value for money in Amalfi this is the place. An intimate B&B, run by the young generation of the family who have spent a lifetime in the place. A dream breakfast, prepared with products that they grow themselves, the eggs are from their own farm. Plus they go out of their way to serve you. The rooms all face the sea, all have a terrace with armchairs and a table. The bathroom is new, with the comfort of a 4-star hotel, something not common in a B&B. The only warning is if you come without a car, you are far from the center of Amalfi and you will have to get around by taxi [20 to 30E] or by cheaper bus but it runs at certain times and you are saying that. Thanks for the hospitality!

Great welcome and service. Generous and excellent breakfast. Small mention about the homemade lemon cake from the garden every morning. Very comfortable rooms with sea views on one side and a lemon garden on the other. Magic !!!
