10/08/2025: Orecchiette was niet te eten. Was iets opgewarmd in de microgolfoven. Totaal geen smaak. Deed me denken aan een cup van Knorr, maar dan veeeeeel slechter. Wegblijven!

01/08/2025: Room 4 is not recommended due to a strong musty smell. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, but unfortunately my experience was not good. Room 4 had a terrible musty smell, both in the bathroom and in the room, as you can see in the video. The bathroom towels were also impregnated with that smell. I only spent one night there and ended up with a headache from the strong smell. Even though it's a grotto, that doesn't excuse the smell: it's the owners' fault for not solving the humidity problem. The lady at the front desk doesn't speak English, French, or Spanish, only Italian, which makes communication difficult if you don't speak the language. Important: If you're coming with a stroller, have limited mobility, or simply don't like walking, this hotel is not for you. You can't get there directly by car or taxi; you have to walk along cobblestone streets. Tip: Don't wear sandals or shoes with smooth soles. The stones are very slippery. It's best to come with sneakers or hiking shoes. In short, the hotel is nice, but I don't recommend room 4. The humidity is too strong and the smell is very unpleasant.

19/07/2025: Personal muy maleducado y desagradable. Fui con mi amiga a por un café y agua tras estar horas bajo el sol caminando y nos atendieron fatal. Cuando pedimos, nos dijeron que sólo nos atendían si pedíamos en italiano. Nos sirvieron una cosa totalmente distinta, nos cobraron de más y ni se disculparon. En definitiva, un trato pésimo al cliente.

05/06/2025: Location magnifica: il locale dispone di una terrazza con una magnifica vista su Sassi. Aperitivo rinforzato ben servito. Tutto molto gradevole. Personale simpatico ed efficiente.

24/08/2025: I visited this place some days ago and we ordered two cocktails and the "biggest" platter (as the menu said containing of marinated vegetables, meat and cheese cuts) When the platter arrived (not too quickly) we saw that in fact it wasn't that big, the cheese was cut like it was their last remaining pieces of it and not much in quantity (i also think that they weren't very fresh). When i asked the waitress about the vegetables that were missing, she told me that they were out of them (without having informed us upfront). After some minutes when we kindly told her (even though it wasn't her fault) that we should be having them since we're paying for them, she told me that she was gonna ask the kitchen. Not too soon,the smallest bowl of some canned mushrooms arrived. Concluding, i ask myself, were they bored to serve us in the first place? Don't they care about what they serve? I dont know.

22/08/2025: Possibly the worst aperitif in Italy. Despite the exceptional location, they were unable to make any of the spritzes properly. When we went to pay, they admitted that the Fiori di Mirto spritz was made with blueberry concentrate; the Hugo spritz, despite having the ingredients listed on the menu, had no mention of elderberry (the main ingredient)... and I could go on.

06/09/2025: Not good food or coffee, the service was okay. Now the name is Maracuja.

03/09/2025: Terrible service, the staff was not only with lacking English, but was also extremely rude. My family and I were berated in front of the entirety of the establishment, while also receiving sub-par food. Truly disgusting hygiene in the midst of the sanitary facilities, which is surely a brewing ground for all types of diseases. It was devastating to see such a repulsing place in the beauty of Madera. The atmosphere is lacking as due to the horrid behaviour of the staff, it was tense and the stench of the toilet suffocated all customers. The food is nothing special, cold in most cases and just an addition to the awful place. Do not go there unless you want to suffer…

19/08/2024: We wanted lunch. But: - The wait was very, very long. In 45 minutes, we only got water and a Coke, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The table next to us was served in 50 minutes, with only salmon and avocado toast and dry bread. - Poor hygiene. The restaurant is not clean: full of flies on the terrace (which has obviously never been cleaned), dirty toilets that don't close. - Tourist trap. The restaurant charges €1 for table service and €2 per person per cover. We do not recommend it, even though the setting is magnificent...
