12/08/2025: The quality of Jimmy's ice cream is beyond question, but the shakes were a total disappointment: we ordered a Big 5 and a Melon Refresher for the modest sum of €6 each, but both were tasteless. Honestly, given the price and the fact that they're advertised as "award-winning," I expected more, much more. Failed.

11/08/2025: Two years ago, I left my first 5-star review because I was very satisfied. Being used to coming almost every summer for about three weeks, and having ice cream every day or almost every evening, I've noticed a lot of changes. My in-laws, who have been from Muggia for over thirty years, also frequent Jimmy's often. The ice cream remains very good, nothing to complain about the quality. However, the portions have become smaller than before, which is a shame. The prices have gone up a bit, but that doesn't particularly bother me (in France, the quality isn't necessarily better and the prices aren't lower). What bothers me more is the fact that the scoops are getting smaller and smaller. The thing that really disappointed my in-laws and me was the attitude of some waiters/waitresses, who don't hesitate to criticize customers behind their backs at the counter about their behavior or lifestyle. In particular, a young blonde waitress with very light eyes and her hair tied in braids behaved coldly or unpleasantly on several occasions. For example, during an aperitif where there were ten of us, we asked, as usual, for chips upon our arrival, and she curtly replied that "it's not cocktail time anymore." This kind of welcome really doesn't make us want to stay. Sometimes, her service even bordered on ignorance. A serious briefing and staff reorganization would be necessary. It's a shame, because the potential is there, and we hope that next summer will be better.

21/07/2025: A very unassuming pizzeria from the outside, with a simple outdoor area. But this is all made up for by the excellent pizzas. One of the best pizzerias, worth a significant detour for. All ingredients are fresh, the dough is perfect, and you can watch the pizza baking in the stone oven. The service is very friendly, and simple orders can be taken in English. Don't judge a book by its cover; a great recommendation!

08/08/2025: I’m happy that eventually we picket this restaurant among the multiple places around. This is rather a local experience and not a fancy place. The food was excellent. Main dish and the desert as well.

07/08/2025: Excellent traditional cuisine with the occasional little innovation. Wonderfully located by the harbor. Very friendly service. Perhaps the best restaurant in Muggia, especially considering the value for money. The only drawback: unfortunately, you can't get a table without a reservation.

05/08/2025: A welcoming restaurant next to the marina in the historic center, with a sea-view terrace and veranda, friendly staff, and excellent service. I had the mixed raw and cooked seafood: delicious. They also serve a complimentary starter platter, a very tasty mix. Highly recommended!

04/08/2025: The taste of the food didn't really match the standard that the restaurant wants to represent! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad at all, but I expected a little more. The service was very nice! The atmosphere is pleasant!

13/08/2025: Last night we went to the "Sal de Mar" restaurant, and it was a bit of a rollercoaster experience. After a 40-minute wait, during which we practically watched the tables that arrived after us become Olympic champions in speeding up their plates, our dishes finally arrived. My friend's mussels were good, and my scallops au gratin were too, although a bit small compared to the ones you find around. But then the absurd began: the bread was so old it looked like a historical relic, and when my friend's pasta arrived, it was so salty it looked like it had been swimming in the ocean. We sent it back, and then they asked us three times if we wanted another, as if repeating the question would make it more appetizing. To top it off, I had specifically asked for the fish to be cleaned, but instead it was full of bones, like an unsolicited treasure hunt. The side potatoes were bland, almost like tasteless boiled clouds. Frankly, €40 for a sea bream for one person, served in these conditions, seems decidedly excessive. I admit I felt embarrassed listing all these mistakes, and in the end, driven by hunger, I ate out of desperation, more out of necessity than pleasure. The only positive note was that the fish was fresh, and you could taste it. In short, between vintage bread, ocean-quality pasta, tables arriving late and served early, and a comedy-like service, it was an evening more worth talking about for a laugh than for a return visit.

17/07/2025: Wir feierten den Hochzeitstag meines Freundes in diesem versteckten Juwel einer Taverne und waren wirklich beeindruckt. Eingebettet in einen friedlichen Olivenhain, ist die Umgebung sowohl einzigartig als auch einladend, so dass wir uns sofort wie zu Hause fühlten. Das Essen war einfach außergewöhnlich - frische, lokale Zutaten, die mit viel Liebe und unglaublichem Können zubereitet wurden. Die Vielfalt der Gerichte, insbesondere der Fisch, war hervorragend. Jeder Teller spiegelte den tiefen Respekt vor der Tradition und die Leidenschaft für das Kochen wider. Was den Abend jedoch wirklich unvergesslich machte, war der Besitzer. Durch seine Wärme, Freundlichkeit und echte Gastfreundschaft fühlten wir uns wie geschätzte Gäste. Als sich der Abend dem Ende zuneigte, erzählte er uns Geschichten, die unserem Erlebnis eine sehr persönliche Note verliehen. Es ist selten, dass man einen Ort findet, an dem alles - von der Atmosphäre über das Essen bis hin zu den Menschen - so perfekt zusammenpasst. Diese familienfreundliche Taverne mit ihren vielen kostenlosen Parkplätzen ist ein Ort, an den wir uns gerne erinnern und an den wir gerne zurückkehren werden.

22/07/2025: 10/10. Exquisite and very welcoming staff. We arrived late and without a reservation. They welcomed us warmly, and the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked. Not everyone at our table ate fish, and they made sure this person ate well, too, using everything they had available. Perfect customer service. If you're passing through Muggia and want a delicious fish lunch at a more than fair price and with genuine staff, stop by this osteria...just like I will next time ❤️

09/06/2025: Als "Wiederholungstäter" wurden wir auch diesmal wieder nicht enttäuscht. Schöne Terrasse, schönes Lokal, netter und zuvorkommender Service und last but not least viel Gutes aus dem Meer und aus dem Keller. Wenn man in der Umgebung ist, unbedingt ausprobieren. Die Preise sind übrigens der Qualität entsprechend.

05/06/2025: Könnte man mehr Punkte vergeben das Castello hat es mehr als verdient. Wir waren eine Gruppe von sieben Personen Und alle Speisen die serviert wurden waren einfach fantastisch . Das Thunfisch Tatar einfach lecker . Aber auch die Hauptspeisen einfach ein Traum .Mir viel die Auswahl richtig schwer,weil alle Gerichte auf der Karte sehr verlockend klingen . Empfehlen kann man auf jeden Fall das Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten ,aber auch das Rinderfilet war ein Gedicht . Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nächstes Jahr wieder wenn wir in Muggia sind .
