09/11/2025: For us, this restaurant was a miss. We chose this restaurant because of its inclusion in the Michelin guide but it failed to meet that standard. Our evening started awry when we were asked to choose our table. After several minutes, they told us we needed to move to a less desirable table. We were then ignored for 10+ minutes while they attended to patrons who had arrived after us. For the remainder of the evening we received less than attentive service in contrast to other patrons. Food wise, it was ok but not great. Because I am gluten free, I asked about the details of the tasting menu. Unlike most restaurants, they would not tell me what was on it. Spoiler alert- it’s all items from the regular menu. Twice, they served me items that contained gluten. Several of our dishes were lukewarm. I asked to modify my paired wines to be red and they acted like it was a huge inconvenience. Finally, when making the reservation we indicated that I am gluten free and that it was my birthday. The restaurant made little effort for either. Instead of gluten free bread, I was given a package of grocery store crackers. For my birthday, they gave me a small jelly candy with a candle. No staff acknowledged the celebration. This is not the level of food or service that one would expect for a restaurant that holds itself out as a Michelin fine dining establishment.

02/02/2026: A unique experience from start to finish, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! Each dish is served with care and delicacy and often has that "wow" factor. Many of the dishes are a blend of tradition and innovation, and the ingredients are expertly measured. I can't believe Forbes named it one of the 100 Italian excellences for 2024! The price is fully in line with the offerings: I had an appetizer, first course, dessert, glass of wine, coffee, and water for a total of about €60. The portions aren't particularly generous, but you certainly won't leave hungry. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located at the entrance to the historic center, but there are several parking lots nearby. The interior is very beautiful, also a blend of ancient and modern, but it could be improved, especially the bathrooms!

01/02/2026: My partner and I chose L'Altro Cantuccio for our last dinner in Montepulciano, and what we found far exceeded our expectations. After a day of food and wine, we just wanted one last taste before saying goodbye to the city, and we casually decided to book a table at this restaurant (admittedly, not having read the reviews, we were worried we'd stumble upon a tourist trap). As soon as we entered, we immediately noticed the decor, the attention to detail, and the relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. We were greeted by a young man who was undoubtedly knowledgeable and knew his stuff. He kindly escorted us to our table, and here too, a careful eye couldn't help but notice the thoughtful choice of minimalist yet striking decor. Unfortunately, we were already very full, and this left us with a bitter taste in our mouths—the kind of taste that comes from wanting to try every single dish on the menu. Every dish we saw coming out of the kitchen brought a smile of amazement to our faces and left our mouths watering. Each course was beautifully explained, and during the dinner, between "surprise" dishes and unexpected treats, the time flew by. We love to eat, we love to experiment, and this restaurant is every bit as good as the many Michelin-starred restaurants we've visited in the past. We left wanting to visit again as soon as possible! Congratulations!

30/12/2025: We found ourselves in Montepulciano in the midst of the chaos of the markets, without a reservation and with all the restaurants bouncing off us. Here at La Briciola, however, they welcomed us with old-fashioned kindness: they went out of their way to find us a table and made us feel right at home. We ate amazing wild boar pici, flavorful and well-made, just like the ones they used to make. The atmosphere was warm, the prices fair, and the staff were very friendly despite the place being packed. If you're passing through Montepulciano, stop here because it's truly worth it.

From the first moment we were greeted by the owner, a man of rare kindness and wonderful company, capable of making everyone feel like special guests. The restaurant is meticulously cared for down to the smallest detail: every corner, every décor choice speaks of passion and love for hospitality. The food is simply sublime. Authentic dishes, prepared with quality ingredients and a mastery that captivates from the first bite to the last. It's one of those places where tradition meets creativity, leaving the palate—and the heart—fully satisfied. An experience that will truly remain among the most beautiful memories. 21/11/2025: We stumbled upon it almost by accident, just passing through. We ordered a platter of cured meats, which I must say was good. The osso buco was a bit less so, as it was burnt, which meant it tasted the same. The pici with ragù were enjoyable. Overall, it was good, but I wouldn't go back on purpose.

20/11/2025: High price 2 appetizers and 2 soups, water without wine because it wasn't available. €59 to eat under the loggia, which was also very hot because it was covered with a plastic curtain.
