22/05/2025: Ho scoperto questa trattoria tramite un articolo su Siena e ci sono stata a cena durante un week end nella splendida città del Palio. Ambiente informale ma molto caldo e curato. Servizio ottimo ma anche amichevole e familiare, gestito da due giovani ragazzi senesi molto gentili e simpatici. Il cibo è ottimo, tradizionale con una vena di creatività. Rapporto qualità prezzo adeguato.

27/05/2025: We were there tonight in four people, it's been a long time since I've been there and I don't think I'll go back again... the food was good but the dishes were poor... we took a Bella Ciao platter for three people (3+3 croutons 3 slices of ham 3 slices of salami 3 meatballs and a bit of tripe) Eur 42.00 a steal for what there was...... in fact we asked if anything was missing but we were told that everything was there (?). 2 good pizzas but these too at a gourmet price. A first course 18.00 tasteless truffle platter and a fried dish 18.00 with two pieces of meat and then all vegetables plus a dessert 7.00 per person total 160.00 - 40.00 Eur per person. (For this price I can eat fish in another restaurant first course, second course and dessert coffee and after-dinner drink). I remembered something different. A nice big cross......! And I certainly won't recommend going there.
26/05/2025: The first courses were excellent, the grill was very good and the price was fair. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff was friendly. I would gladly return.

24/05/2025: A place immersed in greenery just below Piazzale Michelangelo. The environment is very reminiscent of a garden and the atmosphere is suitable for both large tables and more special and intimate dinners. The staff is competent and always very kind, much appreciated the fact that they explain the dishes you ordered.

10/05/2025: Everything was great, we made the reservation through WhatsApp and a charming guy helped us on the terrace. We were with our dog and they offered us water and it was very welcome. The food is delicious, the best chicken liver pâté we have tried in Tuscany, an asparagus pasta, typical, very delicious too, and the meat is wonderful. The tiramisu is also very good, I would repeat without hesitation.
29/04/2025: Piccolo locale a Castiglione d’Orcia. Tavoli all’interno e all’esterno sotto una rinfrescante tettoia. Menù ridotto ma i piatti sono di qualità e molto gustosi, tutti della tradizione toscana locale. Servizio eccellente

06/04/2025: Excellent cavati, pecorino cream, asparagus and bacon and good fillet. The selection of desserts we tried was also very good. N.B. Another recent visit and again very satisfied with both the tagliatelle, the wine, their traditional rice cake and the friendly service. Thank you!

19/05/2025: Ho cenato in questo posto da sola e mi sono trovata benissimo. Il ristorante è in una zona a traffico limitato con pochi parcheggi, ma poco prima della ZTL ci sono molte zone dove parcheggiare. AMBIENTE : ristorante che sa di vera trattoria, semplice ma molto pulito. Zona d'ingresso con il bancone e la cassa e poi si accede all'ampia sala con molti tavolini adeguatamente distanziati. La cucina non è a vista ma si intravede dalla sala da pranzo. Nonostante questo non c'è odore di mangiare in sale. In un angolo, ben distante dai tavoli, c'è il bagno, anch'esso pulito. SERVIZIO : il personale è stato gentilissimo. CIBO: essendo sola non ho fatto grandi assaggi, ma la ribollita era fantastica!!! Ed il filetto con le patate cotto al punto giusto, al sangue, senza che la parte interna fosse fredda. Assolutamente soddisfatta !!!prima di uscire ho fatto i complimenti in cucina. RAPPORTO QUALITA' PREZZO : assolutamente ottimo GIUDIZIO COMPLESSIVO : Ci tornerei oggi stesso. Forse non ci farei un banchetto nuziale, ma una cena aziendale sì (ovviamente se non si lavora per una grande maison)
17/05/2025: Sanesi può definirsi la trattoria dove si mangiano i piatti della tradizione toscana, almeno della tradizione moderna, del '900. Pappa al pomodoro fatta con pomodori e non con passata, crostini di fegatini sfumati con il vin santo e poi, quella carne di manzo... Il vino va scelto quello della casa, obbligatoriamente servito nel fiasco, un ottimo nero di Montespertoli; il servizio è quello che ci si aspetta in una trattoria, diretto, non informale ed il prezzo, pur leggermente superiore alla media, è adeguato alla qualità di quanto si mangia. Un'esperienza da fare e da ripetere specialmente in questa stagione quando si gode dello spazio all'aperto, lungo le mura di Lastra a Signa

01/05/2025: Ci ero già stato e ci avevo mangiato meglio. Abbiamo preso un antipasto misto di mare: nella media, con acciuga e polenta fritta fredda, il resto era ok. Come primo delle mezza maniche con pesce ed erano veramente buone. Abbiamo preso anche del fritto di paranza per assaggiarlo: niente di speciale, nella norma. Lo staff abbastanza attento. Un po' troppo caro il conto per la qualità del cibo.

09/06/2025: I slept in a single room at the end of the third stage of the Via della Lana e della Seta. A basic room but it had everything I needed as a tired and hungry pilgrim. Those who criticize the structure forget that it is not a 5-star luxury hotel. Adequate price for the room. The owner was very kind to me, he indicated some commercial activities in the area and welcomed me with kindness and professionalism, despite my arrival in pitiful conditions at the end of a stage seasoned with mud and rain. In the evening I had dinner at the restaurant which was full of people but they reserved a table for me. I had a pizza which was really delicious. In the morning the attached bar opens at 6 which is a plus for those who, like me, needed to start walking early. I consider myself lucky to have found this hotel and I recommend it to anyone who is passing through
31/05/2025: I ended up at albergo ristorante La Torretta because I had car trouble on the highway and exited at Badia. Castiglione dei Pepoli was just the next town over. They had one last room for me, number 6. The room was clean and tidy and had no smell. Everything was clean except for the pillows, one of which smelled of sebum through the clean pillow cover. It’s a common problem in hotels, and owners should pay more attention to this issue. Wash pillows each time and have new pillows at hand for customers. I normally travel with my own pillow but not this time, as this hotel stay was unexpected. The owner was extremely nice with me. He was even willing to come pick me up where my car gave me trouble, but I managed to move it on my own all the way to the hotel. The hotel also has an enclosed parking lot, so I was comfortable leaving my car there with some of my luggage inside. Someone carried my suitcase upstairs, which was kind. Supper was good – tortellini in brodo. I usually don’t put pork in broth, but I think they did. I ordered the panna cotta, but the mixed berry syrup I chose tasted so artificial that I ordered something else. The mascarpone mousse was home made and delicious. All in all, a very good, home made, supper. Here’s why I have mixed feelings about my stay there. On the one hand: gracious owner, really willing to help. Also, good supper. Also, I am not sure that I would have found a room on a Sunday night in an unfamiliar place. On the other hand – the noise! People talked so loudly downstairs with no respect for people upstairs who were trying to sleep. I even called the reception downstairs at about 11 pm to kindly ask them to keep it down. Impossible, I know… The noise from the restaurant went on past midnight. Also, the uninsulated floors made it so that every step the guests upstairs were taking would be reverberating in my room. Only when everyone, upstairs and downstairs, was settled, past midnight, was it possible to sleep. I think the restaurant is good, because it was busy on a Sunday night, and the food was tasty. But the place might work better as a restaurant only. They don’t charge much for the rooms anyway and but one gets very little sleep, unless one is a night owl and can stay up until everyone has settle for the night.

07/06/2025: Da evitare. Crostini mediocri Maialino immangiabile, secco e insapore, con patate congelate. Faraona di livello analogo. Si salva solo l' insalata. Ho preferito evitare il dolce. Lasciamo perdere poi la lentezza sel servizio....
04/06/2025: Bellissima scoperta, trattoria casalinga nel parco naturale dell’Uccellina, si può mangiare sia nella sala interna che in giardino, abbiamo scelto di mangiare in giardino, la vista dei vigneti è una cornice a così tanta bellezza. Cibo di qualità, servizio impeccabile, porzioni abbondanti e conto nella norma. Ci rivedremo presto, consigliatissimo 🙂

Antica Locanda dal Povero Enzo

02/05/2025: Tornare a casa. La nostra esperienza alla locanda potrebbe riassumersi con queste semplici parole, ma è doveroso spenderne qualcuna in più. Guidati dalla cortesia e professionalità di Andrea, dalla simpatia e dalla competenza nel servizio di Mirko, ogni piatto ci ha regalato un sorriso e soddisfazione difficili da riassumere in poche righe. Un ringraziamento anche alla brigata ed alla cucina: eleganza, garbo, riguardo, gusto, piacere. Questo è l’antica locanda dal povero Enzo. A presto, Michele.
