18/11/2025: There are not many restaurants as lovely as this one in Ragusa Ibla. Expertly crafted dishes paired exquisitely with wines by Carmelo, the somm. The tasting menu is definitely the journey you must take. Simply a wonderful evening with attentive, knowledgeable service at a relaxed pace. Sublime.
30/10/2025: There were a couple of larger groups dining at the same time as us (party of two), and service felt much more attentive to those tables — we had some long lulls waiting for attention. The food itself was just okay; the pastas were served lukewarm, which was a bit odd. I did enjoy the potato knish amuse-bouche (and appreciated that they offered me a second one). The atmosphere was a bit less relaxing than expected, as a young child nearby was screaming for much of the meal.

Service is meticulously curated, with an almost obsessive attention to quality.
A memorable gastronomic experience worth every moment.
22/11/2025: High expectations probably didn't allow for a full appreciation of the menu... highs and lows... too much acidity in many dishes... poor balance... service with some flaws... The promotional menu and crowded dining rooms must have contributed. The sultan, even though he was in the kitchen, didn't welcome or greet the guests... a kindness I've appreciated in other Michelin-starred restaurants... he might be shy... who knows?! The lamb was excellent.

07/11/2025: The restaurant is small, seating about 30 people, and furnished in a simple way. It's popular with tourists and serves good-quality traditional Ragusa cuisine. As for us, the night we dined, the owner completely freaked out while serving, making a mistake when delivering the dishes, but we can only partially explain this by saying he was alone. Overall, the prices are fair.

Punctual and professional service, with a touch of warmth that's always welcome.
Few places (thank goodness!) to enjoy the excellent dishes in peace.
Prices are appropriate for the restaurant's level.

04/11/2025: Our stop in Scicli was even more wonderful after lunch at this delightful restaurant. The catch of the day was excellent, and the wine the owner recommended was even better! The cassata was phenomenal. The spaghetti in lemon sauce, with almonds and tuna bottarga (pictured) will remain my favorite. Corrado greeted us warmly and even gave us a bottle of olive oil. If you're passing through Scicli, you can't miss it!
27/10/2025: Excellent food in beautiful Scicli! The staff is attentive, even with gluten-free options. If you're looking for authenticity, friendliness, and professionalism, stop by Baqqalà! They're wonderful, incredibly friendly, and worth a visit for dinner, just for a chat. The food is excellent and second to none. Congratulations!

10/11/2025: Make sure to get a reservation, this place is worth the wait! Might have overdone but I had to try everything. The polpette al sugo (meatballs) will slow life down for you. Highly, highly recommend stopping in

26/10/2025: The food was exquisite Pastas with sweet ricotta are delicious , I recommend the appetizers, they are super delicious. The waiter is super friendly and nice, he speaks several languages making things easier. The place is very well decorated and I think the cat theme is a very good idea.

14/09/2025: While on vacation in Sicily, we saw this restaurant along the road to Modica. The sign says "traditional cuisine," so we stopped in. It was a great experience. We returned every night we were in Modica. We took their advice and tried a few different dishes, including the pizza. All the food was excellent. The owners are friendly, kind, and attentive to their customers. We had a great time. They also gave us advice on what to try and see in Modica. Well done, keep up the good work. 26/10/2025: Loved it, food was delicious - the sword fish in particular was beautifully done, very tender. Lovely staff and owner Victoria. We were there because big fans of Inspector Montalbano (restaurant was a location) so had his own screen favourites. Fan or not this restaurant should be on list if in Ragusa. Approx £80 incl wine.

The setting is bare, consisting of a single, bright room, but devoid of any furnishings, enhanced only by four photographs of Modica on the walls.
Tables are discreetly separated, and acoustic comfort is difficult to assess due to the small number of customers.
Decent traditional cuisine: mixed antipasto, varied but unmemorable. The "lolli che favi" (a type of pasta filled with honey and honeycomb) are hard to judge, having never eaten them before, but they didn't impress me at all, while the ricotta ravioli with pork sauce were convincing.
Decent house wine.
Friendly and fairly quick service.
Affordable.

17/10/2025: It's a bit far from the center of Modica, but you can eat really delicious traditional food. Oh, I want to eat it again.
