27/08/2025: Highly recommended place, very close to St. Peter's Square (on Via Borgio Pio). Great value. The portions are generous, so you won't leave hungry. The atmosphere is spectacular, and the staff is extremely friendly. They speak Spanish. Both the pasta dishes and the pizza we ate were spectacular. Without a doubt, this place isn't to be missed.

05/10/2025: Those who write about having an authentic experience should explain in what sense. We ordered a platter for four (€50), which was clearly not worth it, especially since it only contained cuts of prosciutto and salami, two sweet and sour onions, six supermarket olives, two very thin slices of pecorino romano, and a few shavings of fresh cheese. The first courses were unthinkable: two cacio e pepe pasta dishes without the "cacio"; one of them was extremely dry and truly difficult to eat, the same for the gricia: pecorino cheese was missing. We paid €28 for pasta with water and pepper and another €14 for pasta with guanciale. They probably ran out of pecorino. I wouldn't go back, much less recommend it.

14/05/2025: We dined here in May 2023 at the recommendation of the hotel clerk when we asked him we just want a hole-in-the-wall, good food restaurant. The clerk and his family dine here, so enough said. He also warned us not to expect any smiles or friendly greeting. in fact, he said it's going to look like they're all angry at having to work while the world is walking by their restaurant. No tables were available as they don't take reservations. They provided a seating arrangement for us, which was near the bathroom and across the tiny path from where they brew their coffees, have their salt/pepper packets (yes, that's right. packets. No bottles, this includes olive oil). My wife and I love these experiences because they are raw and unpretentious. If we wanted fine dining, we would have chosen that, but this was old-school dining with Grandma literally in the back cooking and yelling at the staff. INCREDIBLE food. We walked out paying $40 for our best meal of the week, and that included 2 glasses of wine. We laughed the entire time, and I promise you non a single staff member ever cracked a smile. This was like the "soup nazi" place on Seinfeld. In our 2024 trip, we couldn't coordinate our availability with the restaurant hours, and honestly, we were very dissapointed we couldn't return. We just booked our 2025 trip and have this place on our radar. That's how unique, basic, and delicious this place is. Paper napkins, salt and pepper packets, oil and vinegar in tear-off packets, no friendly staff, Nonna in the back with a stained and soiled apron, yet AMAZING food in the heart of Trastever District!!

11/05/2025: Siamo stati in questa osteria a conduzione familiare,aiutati nella scelta da un gruppo Facebook nel quale aveva delle ottime recensioni,e così è stato. Ragazzi molto simpatici cibo casereccio romano ,rapporto qualità prezzo buono ,noi abbiamo preso 2primi ,2secondi,2contorni 1dolce ,tutto veramente ottimo ed abbiamo speso 58€i. Consigliatissimo

04/08/2025: Mangiato pizza e supplì ,buoni mentre la gricia e da rivedere. Servizio buono e veloce . Trattoria dove hanno una buona scelta di carne e viene servita anche con la piastra calda, buon servizio

01/07/2025: Sono stato per la prima volta all'osteria del parco di cui uno dei titolari è Claudio Ammendola l'attore. Infatti ci sono alcune foto all'interno del locale. Ho mangiato una amatriciana eccellente. Personale gentilissimo. Ancora complimenti alla prossima.

26/08/2025: This restaurant has been closed for a long time. Despite this, they regularly take reservations for this restaurant. Then, an hour before your scheduled lunch/dinner, you're told to go to another restaurant (Officina del Gusto), which isn't at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini 11 but at Via Trento 7, and which is completely different from the photos and location shown in this description. I find this behavior truly unfair and deceptive towards customers, and I don't understand how booking sites still accept it.

06/08/2025: Very disappointing, Location has changed so it’s no longer near the castle. The food was medium! The carbonara was unbeatable, they burnt the bacon so bad that it gave the whole dish a bitter burnt fat taste. The Cacio e Pepe was swimming in Parmesan cream with almost no Pepe and very “commercial”. The lam was fatty and salty with some nice bites The courgette flowers tasted like mozzarella sticks with ( a lot of) anchovies Some good things, The eggplant Parmesan was nice, good sauce and full of eggplant taste! The dough for the fried pizza special was delicious. There’s some nice potential there and the owner and staff were trying very hard to accommodate but the kitchen is just not good enough Sorry guys , Very disappointing We didn’t finish three of the dishes and left with no desert

12/10/2025: Fantastic dinner at this classic Roman trattoria! Recently we had such a nice dinner here! As a starter we ordered parma ham with mozzarella, and it was absolutely delicious, also the supplì and crocchette were crispy and full of flavour. The tagliata with porcini was tender and rich, while the meatballs with mashed potatoes felt like true Italian comfort food. Warm service, cozy atmosphere, and a real local charm, highly recommended for an authentic Roman evening

19/08/2025: There's nothing to complain about the food, given the quality and the enormous amount of work behind the scenes that justifies the expense. A sore point, since I won't be returning, is the fact that after requesting an invoice twice on different evenings, it never arrived. The worst thing is that I pointed out the failure of the first invoice on the second evening, and after being reassured that they would arrange for both invoices to be sent... after over a year, nothing has arrived in my tax drawer. It's a shame, truly a shame, that all this hard work has been wasted in such a petty way, even after payments were made using a traceable method.

25/05/2025: May 2025 I change the 1 star review Disappointed The place is closed... May 2024 I re-evaluate the review. Leaving the 2 year old one. The staff is not very attentive in serving the dishes, in my opinion they panic when the place is a bit crowded. I give 5 stars for the location for being in a town it is very welcoming, I would also say reserved. The review I make I evaluate what I ate based on taste and price.. 5 stars for the appetizer of the tavern is very good rich and varied.. 5 stars for the Pinsa very good and rich. 4 stars for the first courses all good, for my tastes very salty, I recommend having the chef notify for those who do not eat with salt. 4 stars for the tiramisu made by them very good. Prices normal compared to the restaurants I have been.

16/10/2025: I went to see Paolo Pasquali one night. The music was good, the crowd was older, so it was okay. The cocktails were good. The place was nice.

14/09/2025: The open-air venue is charming, nestled within ancient Roman walls. Compared to previous owners, it has now been transformed into a live music venue. There is no table service. The entrance fee, including a drink, is high (considering the drinks are very diluted). The bathroom is shared by men and women; men use the door open. Of course, considering the number of bouncers, they might as well keep an eye on people's behavior even under these circumstances. The bathroom was obviously dirty.

20/10/2025: Run away!!! Once "caught" and seated on a table, they only want to make you pay as much as possible and free up the place, a waiter speaking French to the lady 20 cm from me, mumbled a mixture of English and Italian pretending not to understand when I spoke French to him, refusing to explain the dishes and wanted to leave after 20 seconds, very unpleasant, in the end, I had 2 ravioli swimming in a sauce straight out of a bottle, not even hot at 18€ 😡😡😡

11/08/2025: We went to this restaurant based off of the recommendations from online reviews and Anthony Bourdains travel series. THIS IS NOT the restaurant that people are recommending. While appearances on the outside are the same, the sign above the door still reads Trattoria Settimio and the website and phone number still read Trattoria Settimio, once we were sat down we realized the menu and place mats had a different restaurants name. Not till after did we see a lone review that noted that the restaurant was sold and has changed hands. Food and service was decent but it seems that they are using the likeness and reputation of the Anthony Bourdain recommendation to garner customers.

19/06/2025: I highly recommend a regenerating break in this historic bar...always fresh, exquisite products and courteous and fast service...in a 50s atmosphere that lets you breathe that pleasantly retro air.

25/04/2025: Per quanto riguarda il cibo ed il servizio nulla da eccepire. Il problema sorge quando si arriva alla cassa dove la proprietaria calca la mano sul conto in maniera vergognosa...4 fettine di pane da 1 cm ciascuna 6 Euro...una grappa 9 euro...una liquirizia 5 euro . Vino che puoi acquistare a 9 euro te lo fanno pagare 24 euro...X me questo si chiama furto...Non mi vedrete mai più..

14/04/2025: Cibo di buona qualità, servizio cortese ma prezzi davvero esagerati. Il caffè costa 4 euro ed il pane 3...da lì si parte.

02/10/2025: The best Italian pasta I've had in Rome was here after 10 years, especially the carbonara, which after 10 years I can say is the best place in Rome. You should definitely always come here to eat pasta and Italian food.

13/06/2025: Who’s writing these reviews?! Did we go to the same place? This is essentially Olive Garden in Italy. Have you Alfredo pasta and baked potatoes surrounded by zero Italians. The service is bad. The food is very bad. The drinks are tasty but this isn’t a bar. There’s so many other places to eat in Rome, let this be the review you believe

13/06/2025: There was 4 of us looking for a nice restaurant for our last night in Rome. I found this one - excellent rating. When we eventually found it, we had to queue for about 10 minutes, then seated down the side of the restaurant (first reaction was that it seemed out of the way). We all ordered our meals and drinks, my husband got his first (a pizza), then about a minute or two later, spaghetti bolognese arrived for one of our friends. About 2 minutes more, my mushroom ravoli appeared. We were still waiting for one meal (beef steak strips) - that appeared 12 minutes after the first dish had arrived at the table. The steak was requested to be medium, and it appeared to be rare to medium rare - accompaniments of potatoes and rice were cold. My husband complained a couple of times and the wait staff seemed afraid of confront. But after asking for the bill, we noticed that the steak and a dessert had been comped. Definitely won't be going back, if we go back to Rome.
