18/08/2025: This is such a gem. We walked up on this more quiet street, away from the shopping area and struck gold. Not only was the food amazing, pasta on point and everything you expect from Italian food, the service was so sweet and happy to share of their local knowledge and life stories.

29/09/2025: When we arrived in Rome, we checked in and went out to eat. We went to Il Mozzicone, considering that it had a big terrace and it was raining outside. Big mistake. We ended up sitting inside, and 3 more tables came after us. Well, the other tables were served and our order wasn't even taken... Finally the food arrived: not very good bruschetta al pomodoro, a very sad cheese plate. Pasta and pizza were a little better, but nothing spectacular. The icing on the cake was the mandatory 10% tip included in the bill! If I had known, I would have gone to Carrefour Express. I don't recommend it!!!

10/09/2025: This is a slap in the face to all Italian cuisine! Even a person who has never heard of pizza will cook it better the first time. The food is absolutely disgusting to look at, terrible to taste. In addition, the smallest portions with an inflated price tag. As many have already written before me, this is just a scam! I do not know who the cook is in this place, but he should not work with food. This is not a restaurant - it's a disgrace! Unfortunately, I opened the reviews only after my order was brought to me. If you are in Rome, pass by this restaurant.

08/10/2025: Dar Bottarolo: The Odyssey of the Lost Switchboard. It all started well, very well indeed: a family lunch for eighteen people, organized with a wealth of calls and confirmations to the legendary single switchboard of "Dar Bottarolo," that totem of Roman restaurant franchises that seems run more by Fate than by human beings. Our organizer, diligent as a general on the eve of battle, had called several times in the preceding days: "There are eighteen of us, please remember!" And they, reassuring as a grandmother: "Everything confirmed, sir, we'll be waiting for you!" Finally, day X arrives. We show up at the restaurant on Via Tiburtina, smiling and hungry. But the waiter's expression chills us: "Reservation? Eighteen people? No, nothing here." A shiver runs down our spine: the single switchboard, in an act of pure abstract art, had never transmitted our existence to the restaurant. We call the switchboard again: a kind voice offers us the "solution": "Oh yes, don't worry, we'll move you... there's a free place in Tor Marancia!" Sure, on the other side of Rome, but what's 40 minutes of traffic like when the hunger is already spiritual? Eighteen supplì pilgrims set off for Tor Marancia, following the organizer as tenacious as Ulysses, who refuses to give in to the call of the switchboard. But bad luck doesn't let go: "Ah... but we don't know anything about your arrival." Silence. Eyes wide open. A pair of symbolic forks thrown into the air. The place is packed, and the "solution" is worthy of a Totò film: "Wait for the crowds to thin out a bit, then we'll regroup your table." Translation: lunch scheduled for 2032. Here, however, a round of applause for the owner, who at least went out of his way to find us a place. After a long wait and inner fasting, we enter—it's approximately 2:45 PM—with hunger speaking in the plural and demanding revenge. The appetizer arrives triumphantly: shredded panzanella (the "post-trauma wet bread" version), sad-looking beans and polenta, frozen croquettes saved only because they weren't burned like those on the other half of the table, where they'd experimented with the "one-sided flamethrower" technique. A five and a half of encouragement rather than taste. Then the pasta, served in Flemish style like a centurion's mess: cacio e pepe, gricia, amatriciana... all the same. The same smell of nothing, the same taste of little, the same fate: either overcooked or almost raw. Al dente? Yes, but in the sense that it remained... between your teeth. The second courses, poor things, arrive with the tired air of defeated gladiators: saltimbocca reduced to crispy parchment, chicken with peppers dating back to the Jurassic, and some meatballs in tomato sauce that, with a little faith, could even be called "good" and costing 6.5 euros. The house wine deserves a chapter of its own: a promising color, but the first sip evokes experiences from an alchemy lab. A dry 2, and only because a 1 would have seemed bad. The place, cold and a little melancholic, tries to cheer itself up with unlikely decorations: a fake overhanging roof with fake tiles, beneath which hang fake plastic plants, tired of life, that seem to beg for mercy more than light. The only real positive note: a young waiter, eager but disoriented, trying to figure out who we were and where we'd come from, with the expression of someone who doesn't know whether to bring us the bill or a sedative. In the end, we left exhausted but laughing. We had traveled through Rome, the chaos, the switchboard, and the hunger. Not a lunch, but a gastronomic pilgrimage into the absurd. A once-in-a-lifetime experience—in the sense that, I swear, we won't repeat it. Overall rating: a stretched 5. I sincerely hope the restaurant manages to improve, both in terms of service and cuisine, and that it doesn't rest on the tiredness of the cooks or the improvisation of the switchboard. The concept and the atmosphere deserve better: it doesn't take much to transform an odyssey into a pleasant Roman lunch.

07/10/2025: Everything about this meal was bad: The pasta with tomato sauce was too salty and way too hard. The carbonara looked and tasted like American mac and cheese. And to top it all off: there was a hair in the food!! At least we didn't have to pay for that portion. The chairs were broken and wobbly. I would give it 0/5 stars if I could!! The food didn't arrive for half an hour PLUS we had to pay a €2 service charge per person, which we had no idea about beforehand. Don't go there under any circumstances!

06/10/2025: I highly recommend stopping at this restaurant both for the deliciousness of the dishes and to not miss Super Mario's smile and kindness!

05/09/2025: Lovely place Leo, the owner, is very friendly Quality cuisine, both for pizza and pasta dishes Excellent wine selection (Casale Del Giglio, etc.) Average price for a good dinner: €30-40 per person

22/09/2025: Good Italian restaurant...we ate well and the service was pleasant and friendly. The waiter even spoke a little French. The terrace is pretty and it's excellent value for money. Go there...you won't be disappointed.

14/10/2025: Crazy woman made my sister cry with her screaming because ordering pizza, avocado and shrimp salad, water and desserts for 3 people is rude in dinner time. Not enough money…. Never again. Woman manager was so rude. Why not to tell calmly???

However, I realized that it will be paid when garlic bread comes, I said I don't want it as soon as it comes. However, he said in a rude and harsh way, 'I asked, you ordered'. A garlic bread is 7.5 euros. A rose is also 7.5 euros. They added it to the account. I said I don't want it 5 times and he didn't take it back. Of course I paid for it, but it's a disgrace!

12/10/2025: Located right across from the Pantheon, this place has such attentive and kind staff. It’s hard to judge the prices — the location is prime — but they serve authentic Italian dishes. Perfect spot to stop by for a meal after a long day of sightseeing.

19/10/2025: Very bad experience at Trattoria Amici. They charged me almost €5 in made-up “extra” fees that weren’t listed on the menu, and they didn’t give me back €2 in change. When I mentioned it, they didn’t offer any explanation or solution. I left feeling like they took advantage of me. Definitely not recommended.
