05/11/2025: Il "mares" è una roccia arenaria, permeabile, di una tonalità di colore che va dal bianco all'ocra e le cave di "mares" sono spazi enormi da cui gli uomini hanno estratto la pietra per costrire le case nel corso dei secoli. L'arenaria viene estratta a cubi, che poi vengono ridotti in pezzi più piccoli, a secondo dell'uso. In passato l'arenaria veniva estratta a colpi d'ascia, come si può notare dai "graffi" lasciati nelle rocce. A metà del 1900 si cominciò invece ad usare mezzi meccanici, ovvero lame circolari spinte su binari da una struttura meccanica: in questo caso sulle pareti rocciose non si notano più graffi, ma rette con incisioni perpendicolari molto profonde.

05/11/2025: Questo Canters da cui si estraeva pietra da Mares fino a circa 25 anni è senza dubbio l'esperienza più divertente che ho avuto quando si visita un luogo turistico per lungo tempo. Perso nelle sue vie, angoli e punti di vista per il fondo dei fori praticati nella pietra è meraviglioso. Non importa se si va per l'architettura, pl botanica, o simili per esplorare ogni piccola strada e crocevia finché, alla fine, trovare una grotta, albero di fauna autoctona o giardino nascosto ... (Il giardino medievale, in questo caso ...). Questa esperienza Lithyca attraverso l'associazione che è riuscita a recuperare un ambiente magico, rispettando l'afflusso di gente così si può anche avere la fortuna di non imbattersi in qualcuno sulla un'ora e mezza circa.

30/11/2025: I returned years after the review below (post-Covid) and the new owners had ruined it. The most disastrous dinner of my life. If the current owners aren't the same as in 2021, then great. But I would change the name if that's the case. -- Excellent. We had the chips as a starter—homemade and delicious—and two pasta dishes. One was carbonara, which was amazing, and the other, a daily special, was homemade fettuccine with Italian bacon, zucchini, and cream cheese. The pasta was incredible, some of the best we've ever had. With dessert and drinks, it came to €20. Very affordable in Rome for such good quality and flavor. Furthermore, the service, the attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes, and the decor of the restaurant were all excellent. Highly recommended, and we will definitely return.

05/11/2025: I went to this restaurant for lunch. My partner works nearby. I absolutely didn't like the food, nor the quality. The air inside is stale and dark, and the staff isn't friendly. I eat better at home.

09/02/2025: Mi presento con due zii passati da Roma da Ulisse di domenica alle 13:30, senza troppe speranze. Premetto che era la mia prima volta lì e non avevo idea di che tipo di locale fosse, speravo solo non fosse troppo turistico. Dopo neanche 10 minuti di attesa ci fanno sedere alla sala sotterranea, un ambiente con luci soffuse e atmosfera rilassante. Il servizio è stato impeccabile e garbatissimo, il cibo ottimo e il conto più che onesto. I miei zii sono stati felicissimi e mi chiedono sempre quando ci torniamo. Consiglio il fiore di zucca, davvero squisito.

19/08/2025: Ichiban Ramen & Street Food 1. Location (Access, Parking): Next to Hotel Marisa 2-minute walk from Rome Train Station 2. Hours (Closed, Break Times, Wi-Fi): Open 24/7, no breaks, free Wi-Fi 3. Friendliness: Not friendly, but not rude either. It's chic. 4. Cleanliness: Overall, it was clean (the bathroom was clean too). 5. Menu & Taste: Ichiban Ramen & Donburi (Meat Bowl) I was craving Korean food and was planning to visit a Korean restaurant, but luckily, there was a Japanese restaurant my family loves right next to our hotel. The ramen we ordered was light, not salty, and delicious. The meat bowl donburi was also delicious, with a sweet pork rib marinade and easy-to-eat cubes of meat. The interior had a Japanese feel, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to try Japanese food in Europe.
