30/03/2026: I EATEN AT ARKA WITH MY WIFE ONE EVENING.
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PLACE (WE'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE). THERE WAS SOME PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTING. WE ATE QUITE WELL, THE BILL WAS A SURPRISE. FIRST OF ALL, WE WERE NOT TOLD THE PRICE. (WE BOTH CHOSEN THE MENU OF THE DAY).
WE WERE VERY SURPRISED. (€90 PER PERSON).
I DON'T THINK WE'LL BE BACK.
THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT.

Note: The answer further defines the subjects; the caramelizing effect of flour doesn't exist. You should be ashamed of offending your customers' intelligence and stop poisoning them. Be kind and polite, if you can.

27/01/2026: Pleasantly surprised by the coffee with my feet in the water for €1.50! The prices of the dishes are also very reasonable for planning an afternoon at the beach in a small cove of blue water including a hot spring.
10/10/2025: Sorgeto a wonderful bay, the restaurant has few dishes but the service is fast and the staff are kind, excellent bruschetta and I ate a very good plate of octopus gnocchi.

22/09/2025: A true pearl of Ischia! At Trattoria da Peppina di Renato we finally felt we had found the real Italy. The atmosphere was a feast for the senses: authentic, steeped in history and tradition, with every detail in the décor arranged with taste and passion.
Francesco, with his stories, guided us not only through the dishes but also through the soul of the island: its soil, its wines, and the deep roots of its cuisine. It felt as though we had been welcomed into the living memory of a family.
The grandmother’s meatballs with pine nuts, in their rich tomato sauce, captured me from the very first bite. I truly felt as if they had been prepared by a nonna herself, with that love and patience only a grandmother can give. I can say, without exaggeration, that I had never tasted anything so delicious, so tender, so perfectly balanced.
Then came the pasta with rabbit sauce and herbs. Wonderful! Followed by the traditional Ischian rabbit dish, which I had longed to try since arriving on the island. It was intensely aromatic, served with real, rustic fried potatoes.
And yes, we followed Francesco’s advice: we even did "la scarpetta"!!! Dipping bread into the rabbit sauce was a revelation.
We paired the meal with a local Biancolella, produced just a few houses up the hill: fresh, crisp, and mineral, with that volcanic rock note that gives Ischia its name as the "green island".
The evening ended with two special digestifs. One was made of arugula, unique and vibrant, and the other was Piperna, a true spirit of the island. A must try!
This was not just dinner, but a journey into tradition, authenticity, and warmth. Thank you from the heart for an unforgettable evening. We will carry this inspiration back to our own little Italian restaurant in Germany, and we hope to return soon, at least once more, to relive this magic.
12/09/2025: Wonderful evening. Professional and very helpful staff. Excellent food quality and absolutely reasonable prices. What more can I say... the tradition and history of Ischian cuisine with expertly combined reinterpretations. The place is beautiful and exudes joy with a hint of nostalgia... all accompanied by the greatest voice and guitar on the island of Ischia.
Well done guys (did you give your lighter back?)

01/04/2026: We had the best pastries here. Focaccia Friarelli with Salsiccia and Mozarella. Wow that was so tasty! Also everything else, fresh, tasty and best on the island.

18/01/2026: A truly great atmosphere if you're looking for a dramatic evening! I recommend the spaghetti alla Emanuele Esposito, a truly delicious treat if you want to savor the typical products of the Panza area. A plate of pasta costs only a quarter! Fiat Panda.

03/04/2026: La Pagliarella in Forio is a restaurant that captivates with the authentic quality of its locally sourced cuisine: flavorful appetizers, perfectly fried fish, and fish dishes enhanced with sauces and gravies that maximize the freshness of the sea.
The host, Enzo, a man of few words and seemingly gruff, actually demonstrates great attention to detail and skill, always managing to please his guests with excellent cuisine that speaks for itself.
Manuel makes the experience even more enjoyable, with his friendly and welcoming service that perfectly complements everything.
This isn't our first time back, and every time we leave completely satisfied.
03/04/2026: Excellent traditional cuisine, using only fresh fish and everything locally sourced. The owner is a bit gruff, but the chef is excellent. I highly recommend it; we'll definitely be back. Special praise for Manuel's service, always available and extremely kind.

By far the worst food we ate in Naples and Ischia.
The waiter was very inattentive. After about 10 minutes, we asked if we could order...
(This is not what you expect in Italy.) General friendliness was definitely not his strong suit.
The food was unfortunately drenched in oil, both the appetizer and especially the pasta. (See picture.) The zucchini blossom and eggplant appetizer were oily but still tasty.
I was very surprised when the DOP pizza only had buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, but no tomato sauce?! (Perhaps I misread it?? That's unusual.)
For the price, it unfortunately wasn't what we had hoped for.

12/09/2025: The double bed was actually a queen-size bed, so it was a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast consisted only of packaged products, and the fresh croissants, unfortunately, weren't made daily. The property was, however, very clean, and the owners were helpful.
09/07/2025: Clean, comfortable and family-run, it makes you feel at home.

08/03/2026: The owner complains about the price of Nutella at the register, serving an almost empty croissant, charging the same as a filled one, and ignoring the needs of the customers who come to eat.
The approach and service provided by the employees, always kind and attentive, is excellent.
Perhaps it's best for the owner to stay home because she's causing this café to lose customers.
It's a shame, but I won't be returning.
05/03/2026: Incompetent and very rude staff. I was there last year in the summer. In fact, I had the misfortune of ending up in this bar because the closest one, that is, near the port, would never have happened. We sat at a table. The girl who worked there was very rude and even answered us rudely, things from another world. Furthermore, the desserts are not at all fresh. For me, they have kept them in the display case for days. I won't add anything more, even though some time has passed, the treatment I received has remained impressed on me. If I ever return to the island of Ischia, I wouldn't go back there, so I don't recommend it.

28/12/2025: It's the best pizza in the entire town, hands down—I'd even say on the entire island—but given the conceit of those who work there and manage the entire business, it deserves only one star. What a shame.
Update: I wrote the first part of the review right after ordering the pizzas over the phone, but now, after receiving them at home, I can say I'm doubly disappointed. The delivery guy was punctual, but all the pizzas were small, with very little toppings and a huge crust due to the fact that there was very little toppings and only in the center. I was really disappointed... the chips on the two chips and dales were old, but at least they were there...

25/09/2025: Fast service at first, and the food arrived quickly. Rather poor value for money. The grilled calamari was already quite cold when served. The fried mixed fish was good and hot. The side dish was separate, making it relatively expensive. The green salad was a carelessly prepared iceberg lettuce. The balsamic vinegar was empty. The pepper mill didn't work properly.
Service also deteriorated as the meal progressed. There were only three tables occupied, and the three available staff members stood around chatting instead of offering us a drink or dessert.
Not again.
14/09/2025: The worst pasta ever. The table behind us also didn't like their pasta. I don't know if the calamares were from the can or not, but very bad taste. The souce was also the worst pasta sauce I ever had. Total catastrophe. Go to the resturant next to them. Never here..
