14/06/2026: I had a negative experience here. I ordered a margherita and it was served BURNED. The crust was BLACK all around, and the mozzarella was overcooked in the middle, to the point it tasted like parmesan cheese. I asked our waitress if I could have it redone. A few minutes later, what seemed to be the manager (or owner) came to our table and asked me what was wrong with the pizza. I explained (again) that the crust was burned. He immediately got defensive, lost his temper and yelled at me that I should have told the waitress in advance if I wanted a "medium-rare" pizza, then continued his rant about how they can't redo a pizza every time there is a complaint etc. He embarassed me in front of all 10 guests that were sitting at my table. I did not argue back because that dinner was an important occasion, but on a different day, I would have raised hell for such a treatment! I will not be going back, and I recommend you look elsewhere for pizza, since burned seems to be the standard here.

13/06/2026: One of the nicest and best restaurants right on the harbor in Forio. The pizzas are delicious, and the salad is also highly recommended. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

17/02/2026: If you’re visiting Ischia, you absolutely must stop at Pizzeria da Luca — otherwise, your trip isn’t complete. We called just 30 minutes before closing, and they still warmly welcomed us for lunch. That kind of hospitality already says a lot, but the real highlight was the pizza — simply amazing. Fresh ingredients, perfect dough, and authentic flavors that made every bite unforgettable. On top of that, they were incredibly kind and even recommended places for us to visit on the island. You can truly feel the passion and care they put into both the food and the experience. We absolutely adored it and can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommended!

07/07/2026: Searching online for a place to eat, we came across Gisella's. What can I say? It was the perfect choice! A family-friendly atmosphere, attentive and caring staff, truly excellent food, and...a breathtaking view! Highly recommended.

01/07/2026: We came back to this restaurant because it left a lasting impression on us… 10 years ago. The only thing we clearly remembered? The portions. Absolutely, ridiculously, almost scientifically oversized. 😂 Happy to report… nothing has changed. One plate of pasta is easily 500g or more. If you leave hungry, it’s probably your own fault. Inside, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. It’s genuine Italian kitsch, with a décor that seems to have ignored every design trend of the last few decades. And somehow… that’s part of its charm. The food, however, is in a completely different league. We had 4 primi (first courses, pasta), 1 secondo (main course), 1 contorno (side dish) and 5 Fiori di zucca ripieni di ricotta (zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta)… and those stuffed zucchini flowers deserve a standing ovation. Simply spectacular. The bill came to €160 for 5 people. It isn’t cheap, but considering the quality and the portions, it’s very fair value. Come for the food. Stay because you’ll need an extra hour to recover from the portions. We’ll definitely be back… hopefully after we’ve digested this visit. 🍝😂

01/06/2026: We visited the restaurant twice. The service was perfect, the food fantastic, and the selection excellent. It was the best meal we've had in Italy in recent years. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy fine Italian cuisine. Reservations are strongly advised!

12/06/2026: I recently discovered this wonderful restaurant in Foriano. We ate there for lunch and were treated wonderfully by Francesco, who was extremely helpful and attentive. The view is stunning, encompassing the western part of the island. The food was delicious, as per tradition, with all local ingredients.

05/10/2025: Burnt pizza, do you want to know it's carcinogenic? Well, it tastes like charcoal and is self-harm. Note: The answer further defines the subjects; the caramelizing effect of flour doesn't exist. You should be ashamed of offending your customers' intelligence and stop poisoning them. Be kind and polite, if you can.

03/06/2026: We were in Ischia over the June 2nd long weekend, and after several disappointing lunch and dinner experiences at other restaurants, we stumbled upon La Ruota, where we had an excellent experience: the welcome, friendliness, quality, service, and variety of dishes... what more can I say? Lunch at La Ruota was a complete surprise. We ate wonderfully and were pampered by Marcella, who delighted us. The zucchini and mussels specialties are a must-try, a superb combination of ingredients and quality.

27/01/2026: Pleasantly surprised by the coffee with my feet in the water for €1.50! The prices of the dishes are also very reasonable for planning an afternoon at the beach in a small cove of blue water including a hot spring.

10/10/2025: Sorgeto a wonderful bay, the restaurant has few dishes but the service is fast and the staff are kind, excellent bruschetta and I ate a very good plate of octopus gnocchi.

22/09/2025: A true pearl of Ischia! At Trattoria da Peppina di Renato we finally felt we had found the real Italy. The atmosphere was a feast for the senses: authentic, steeped in history and tradition, with every detail in the décor arranged with taste and passion. Francesco, with his stories, guided us not only through the dishes but also through the soul of the island: its soil, its wines, and the deep roots of its cuisine. It felt as though we had been welcomed into the living memory of a family. The grandmother’s meatballs with pine nuts, in their rich tomato sauce, captured me from the very first bite. I truly felt as if they had been prepared by a nonna herself, with that love and patience only a grandmother can give. I can say, without exaggeration, that I had never tasted anything so delicious, so tender, so perfectly balanced. Then came the pasta with rabbit sauce and herbs. Wonderful! Followed by the traditional Ischian rabbit dish, which I had longed to try since arriving on the island. It was intensely aromatic, served with real, rustic fried potatoes. And yes, we followed Francesco’s advice: we even did "la scarpetta"!!! Dipping bread into the rabbit sauce was a revelation. We paired the meal with a local Biancolella, produced just a few houses up the hill: fresh, crisp, and mineral, with that volcanic rock note that gives Ischia its name as the "green island". The evening ended with two special digestifs. One was made of arugula, unique and vibrant, and the other was Piperna, a true spirit of the island. A must try! This was not just dinner, but a journey into tradition, authenticity, and warmth. Thank you from the heart for an unforgettable evening. We will carry this inspiration back to our own little Italian restaurant in Germany, and we hope to return soon, at least once more, to relive this magic.

12/09/2025: Wonderful evening. Professional and very helpful staff. Excellent food quality and absolutely reasonable prices. What more can I say... the tradition and history of Ischian cuisine with expertly combined reinterpretations. The place is beautiful and exudes joy with a hint of nostalgia... all accompanied by the greatest voice and guitar on the island of Ischia. Well done guys (did you give your lighter back?)
