19/02/2026: We ate at this restaurant again about two weeks ago, and each time is a pleasure, more so than the last. The quality of the ingredients is unquestionable, the place is warm and welcoming, as is the staff. Today, however, this review makes more sense than ever, and I must fully appreciate this establishment, its staff, and its owner. Following our last visit (which, I repeat, was two weeks ago), I met Andrea, the owner, who, having recognized me, made a point of informing me that our table had been charged a different bill than what we should have, because our order had been mixed up with that of another table. I was refunded the difference and apologized for the error... a gesture worthy of all my respect, which left me astonished. What more can I say? The perfect example of professionalism. See you soon, guys. ❤️

19/12/2025: Fantastic place for those who want to eat grilled meat. The 'Bombette' are fantastic, a true explosion of flavors and high quality. It's great to be able to see the fresh meat right in the refrigerator. Very friendly staff. Exceptional wine. We drank a magnificent Aglianico. We will definitely be back.

18/01/2026: If you want to experience Cisternino's true gastronomic experience, a stop at Zio Pietro is a must. Here, you don't consult a paper menu; you "read" it with your eyes, right at the butcher's counter. ​The Experience: The ritual is fascinating: as soon as you enter, you line up in front of the meat counter. The selection is vast and of the highest quality. It's impossible not to order the famous bombette (cheese-filled capocollo rolls, available in several variations), the livers (gnumeredd), and the knife-point sausage. Once you've chosen your meat, it's weighed and sent directly to the "fornello" (the traditional Apulian vertical oven) for slow, even cooking. ​The Food: The meat is simply exceptional: tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with that subtle hint of embers that only a traditional stove can provide. The traditional side dishes are also excellent; I loved the pickled vegetables. ​The Atmosphere: The atmosphere is rustic, welcoming, and authentic. You can feel the atmosphere of old-fashioned shops. The staff is quick and friendly, despite the constant crowds (a clear sign that this place deserves it).

17/01/2026: If you wish to experience freshly prepared, and perfectly grilled meat of Puglia, arm your self with the patient. First you will need to q to select the meat from the butchers fresh counter, afterwards it's the table waiting, and at the end food preparation time. However, it is absolutely worth, because that was the most tender and juicest grilled meat I have tasted.

22/01/2026: Everything was delicious; the meat was cooked to perfection, so tasty you could cut it with a breadstick, and the bombette were amazing. The side dishes were delicious, the place was clean and quaint, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Try it and believe it.

24/02/2026: Dear restaurant manager, If you read the review I wrote, I simply explained my experience, which was not positive. Your aggressiveness is completely inappropriate and indicates a lack of customer service. An apology from you would have been enough to put an end to the matter.

28/02/2026: I had roast beef, and the overall quality was good. What left me perplexed, however, was the complete lack of a menu, neither paper nor digital. It was impossible to find the prices or choose independently: I had to ask the waiter directly for information on the available dishes. Furthermore, at the time of payment, I was given neither a detailed preliminary bill nor a receipt with a price list, which I believe is essential for customer transparency. 17/08/2025: Nothing to complain about the location; it's cute and informal, but this place, even though it's desolate, has its charm. The meat is very good, and the prices are average for the quantity and quality. The only flaw is the €13 grilled meat, which is paltry in its composition. It's listed as weighing about 400 grams. The capocollo, which wasn't there, must have been a maximum of 150 grams cooked and compensated for by adding a mini-bombetta and a sausage. I'd recommend revising it and making it more substantial. As for the side dishes, the quality/price ratio is exceptional.

15/08/2025: I'm a meat lover, so I wasn't familiar with this place. It was a great surprise. I like the location, it's pleasant. The staff is very friendly, and the food is divine. Finally, a place with zero food miles. The only downside? They'll close in August and reopen in October. I think they could definitely stay open until the end of September. A place worth trying, highly recommended.
