13/03/2026: Always delicious! The rotisserie chicken is fresh and fragrant, as are the skewers, pork neck, and porchetta! The side dishes are reminiscent of those you'd eat at an old friend's house... A special mention for the pizza!!! Peppe is fantastic! The prices are truly ridiculous! 100% recommended!

06/01/2026: My family and I had seen this place in passing every day on the way out of Porto when we caught the various busses to travel around the island. It fronts onto the busy road so is obviously very busy during the day. Do not, repeat NOT be put off by the location of this place, it is a fantastic little grill and the food is amazing and easy on the wallet. We had kebabs, chicken, fish, pizza, good God, so much really, really tasty food. Good service and friendly staff, what looks like a busy road side venue during the day turns into a great place to sit, relax and watch as people turn up to collect take away food. We didn't actually think we'd ordered that much, but had to take some home with us as we couldn't bear to leave it!!! To sum up, we spent a week on Ischia and dined all over the island, I can honestly say Antico Girarrosto Ischitano was by far the best place we had the pleasure to visit. Saluti Antico Girarrosto Ischitano!!!

05/03/2026: A must-do! If you love good wine and good food and are also looking for an exclusive venue, this is the place! If you reserve a table on the terrace, your experience will be magical. The view is breathtaking! The service is fast and the wait staff is very kind and professional. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Parking a few meters from the entrance.

01/03/2026: The place is lovely, but the food isn't so much. We ordered a side of baked potatoes that were swimming in oil and two pizzas. The pizzas aren't great and aren't worth the money.

15/02/2026: We had lunch with the fixed Sunday menu. The appetizer was excellent with various delicacies and excellent cured meats. The first courses were also good. The pork was tender but seasoned with too much pepper. The service was attentive and helpful. Perhaps for 35 euros they could at least include water.

22/01/2026: Fantastic lunch, exquisite dishes [pettole (fresh pasta) and super beans, impeccable service (Alessandro Borghese would have complimented them) they served all the guests at the same time, definitely worth returning

24/02/2026: The location isn't particularly attractive; it's in a basement, but there's a nice restaurant "lounge" there. The service is courteous, the food is clean, and the food is good quality and quite well-cooked. The prices are very reasonable.

07/02/2026: For the first time last night I went to this pizzeria for my brother's anniversary party, what can I say, it was a great discovery for me: beautiful, clean place, the owner is a very friendly person, special praise for the kind and competent staff, I will definitely be back.

04/01/2026: I'd like to start by complimenting the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I've already personally complimented the owner (Pietro) when I went for lunch today for my father-in-law's 70th birthday. But I'd like to leave a personal comment on social media. I'll start with the location, which is meticulously maintained and spacious, unlike many places that crowd you in just to get things done. Here, the space was just right, and you didn't have to play Tetris near the table to make room for the food. Moving on to the food, I can be sure of what I'm saying, given that there were three chefs at the table (who have been in the business since 1969), plus me. Like everyone else in the same profession, I'm critical and meticulous, as well as having a certain palate. I can attest that all the ingredients were high-quality, fresh, and flavorful. Starting with an appetizer where nothing was frozen, delicious croquettes and zeppole, and not to mention the flans. But I want to compliment the chef for the pasta and potatoes, which with its simplicity and its "pav chell e mamma" flavor, the right portions and seconds at the table of all the dishes, and they never made a fuss about any request made. Last but not least, because in my opinion the real added value of Rifugio del Nonno is the staff, courteous, polite, attentive to detail, always polite and kind, and above all the extras, they also gave all the support possible and this only means that the owners treat those who work for and with them well. A true team must be united and they are. These compliments are not made out of niceness, friendship or anything else but simply because THEY ARE ALL DESERVED and we must give credit to those who sacrifice themselves every day to achieve certain goals and do the best for the diners. As I told the owner today I wasn't able to eat much because I had the flu, but I will come to visit you often and I will send people because I am sure I will only make a good impression. Thank you for the magnificent day you gave us.

08/02/2026: I hadn't been to this restaurant in years, then, drawn by stories on social media, I stopped by with friends. What can I say? Saturday dinner with pizza and a fried appetizer. Perfect simplicity. From the parking attendant to the waiter Gennaro at the cash register with the girl who advertises the company with videos. Friendly, polite, down-to-earth, and professional people. It felt like being with family. Delicious pizza. Reasonable prices. A little noisy in the dining room, but that's the Neapolitan sociability that doesn't hurt. We'll be back for Sunday lunch.

09/03/2026: A truly beautiful place; I'd call it an agri-restaurant. Riding stables, various animals, a soccer field, and plenty of greenery. There are also dining rooms serving both meat and seafood. I went there for Sunday lunch with friends and we had a truly wonderful day. Overall, the food is good and the service is excellent. Highly recommended.

The food was really good and of good quality, generous portions, especially the appetizer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was well-kept and very clean. My compliments to the owner and all the staff. Even the girl at the piano bar was very good with the quiet music, without stressing us. I will definitely be back. 💯💯💯

Angela captured and expressed everything she could with such ease, making it an unforgettable evening, leaving nothing to chance. The staff were helpful and friendly, the location elegant and refined, accompanied by delicately unique cuisine, with dishes that stunned all our guests. The entertainment and piano bar fulfilled the birthday boy's wishes, and the room was decorated down to the smallest detail, from the chosen theme to his favorite colors. I have no words to express the joy they conveyed. Thank you so much for the wonderful day we spent.

27/09/2025: This review is based on my participation in a wedding anniversary celebration. The location is nice. Parking space is perhaps limited. Food is good. Service is acceptable. We were perplexed when the appetizer plates arrived without cutlery. Using your own cutlery to help yourself from a shared plate at a table of six isn't the best in terms of hygiene. There was another event going on in the room at the same time; personally, I would have kept them separate (but here we need to understand the agreements made between the guests and the venue).

16/11/2025: The first piece of advice I can give is to go right away. Don't waste your time. The first glance as soon as you enter will put you in a good mood, with a British-style bar with rum, gin, and whisky prominently displayed. But it doesn't end there; beyond the beautiful appearance, there's great expertise in the food service. Top-notch dishes to suit your taste, all of them of the highest quality. I recommend going for lunch so you can spend time with the owner, who is an excellent speaker and will explain a lot about his passion and business.

16/02/2026: The atmosphere was very family-friendly. The owner and his family welcomed us warmly and recommended their specialties! The portions were generous and of the highest quality! I can't recommend anything in particular because everything we ate was excellent, from the various types of chips (the lime ones were exceptional) to the omelettes, the sandwiches, and finally the desserts—everything was delicious! We'll definitely be back!
