15/03/2025: On a Saturday evening full of kids, only one cash register is open and it only works for payments made with apps or totems. It is not possible to take numbers because there is only takeaway. Dozens of kids crowded together waiting for their number. Shameful.

07/03/2025: As an expert also on American cuisine, I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best burgers I have ever tasted, accompanied by its fantastic fries. The place has a typically American atmosphere, which I love. I will definitely return without hesitation.

31/03/2025: Sunday lunch, terrible experience. They put us in a room not communicating with the room, very peeling walls (but the bathroom has a shower!). Music too loud, split too low. We ask to turn down the music and raise the split. Elderly waitress confirms but does not proceed. Canvas baskets containing bread, dirty fabric on the edges. The menu said "hamburger" but they meant the sandwich or the burger... they don't know the difference and insist. Long wait for the first courses. They carry Chianina burgers with pre-cooked McDonald's type chips, 1 leaf of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato. Slightly burnt bitter hamburger 15 euros. 5 Panzerotti with ricotta and spinach 13 euros. All the dishes were lukewarm even on the inside. Waitress states "that perhaps they got cold along the way" but that if they wanted they could warm it up! The second young waitress appears, deposits the plate and doesn't even say hello, we take advantage of the requests, otherwise we are abandoned in the room. Very good sparkling water, good trio of starters. Only 2 very busy waitresses. Almost 50 euros thrown away. Very large margin for improvement.

08/04/2025: Being celiac, I contacted the place in advance asking for information and, despite the lack of a separate kitchen, they reassured me by telling me about gluten-free bread, AIC certification and a separate oven, only the fresh ones could be contaminated. Once I arrived for dinner, together with some colleagues, apart from the empty and cold place, I noticed that the menu only contains food with gluten. A game of continuous contradictions begins: 1) I reiterate my celiac disease to the staff and first, they tell me that they are certified then, based on "how they were instructed", they are obliged to inform me that there is a risk of contamination (I point out that if there is certification, there should be no possibility of contamination but I move on); 2) immediately afterwards they ask me if I am intolerant or allergic. I repeat again that I am celiac but there is nothing to be done, they insist on the possibility of contamination (not well-educated staff); 3) "separate oven" in which bread was heated meant the same oven but on different levels; 4) as an order I ask for the least contaminated food possible, they recommend cold cuts because they are "still closed and sealed in their packaging" (I explain that the problem of gluten, in this case, shifts to the methods of production and conservation of food and not so much on the open or closed packaging, but I move forward); 5) they confirmed to me that the kitchen was clean as no dish had yet been served and that they would have spoken to the chef to give me further information, warning him to have him prepare my dish first and then that of the others, to avoid contamination. Well, I never heard anything more about the chef (among other things, my colleagues' dishes arrived first, including cut bread). 6) my two small sandwiches arrive, I ask again if the chef had been notified and they tell me that my dish came out last only to have them all come out together but in reality it was made first (I remain with the benefit of the doubt and eat). I am also disappointed by the portions in general (they are not at all like the ones in the photo, I would highly recommend updating the site and the Google page). The others take a sandwich (classic loaf) and two small tomini with a microscopic portion of fish and chips. All this for around 25/30 euros each and a return home with an empty stomach. I'm sorry but we're definitely not there.

09/03/2025: Nice surprise, I tried several places where Anglo-American style dishes are offered but I was often disappointed... here instead I found an excellent compromise of excellent proposals at a fair price, a nice place (I would have appreciated more spacious tables) and excellent service especially seeing young girls with the desire to be good 👏🏻. Good variety of sweet 🍰 and savory 🍳 dishes, cold 🥤 and hot ☕️ drinks and many sins of gluttony 🧁 to try to resist. I will definitely be back 😉.

The joyful welcome of Selenia (amazing hostess), the confidentiality of Irene, the generosity and wisdom of Riccardo..... well mix all this well and the Lanterna del Greco becomes a place of the heart..... at least of mine.

06/10/2024: Restaurant renovated with taste and elegance which offers a vast choice of choices on the menu which varies from excellent fish to impeccably cooked meat, first courses for every palate and a careful selection of wines as a pairing. Courteous and always available staff. Choosing them for lunch on Sunday or for dinner during the week is a real treat.

14/04/2025: You can't do less... Lately we have often used the delivery service and nothing happened, not once did everything we ordered arrive both in terms of quantity (for example the last time the nuggets were missing) other times there are not the sandwiches ordered but others. And every time we call to complain they tell us that they are sorry, that the person who prepared our order has already been reprimanded and that if we go to the restaurant they will give it to us. If I choose the delivery service it is because it is not convenient for me to come to St. Christophe. Meanwhile we pay and never have all the products. Update: even eating directly at the St. Christophe point is 0. Every time we went the tables were always dirty (due to the fact that you couldn't eat there without getting residue from previous customers), the wait was endless even when there were few customers and the food always arrived cold.

12/04/2025: I'm not a McDonald's person, but the food is absolutely nothing special and the service isn't that friendly... Not to mention they got the wrong sandwich. In the past I've seen better McDonald's and much faster fast-food restaurants.

28/03/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐The Rhodhause in Desenzano del Garda proves to be a pleasant gastronomic experience, worthy of a solid 4 stars. The environment is refined and welcoming, with an atmosphere that is suitable for both romantic dinners and convivial evenings with friends. The layout of the tables is well thought out, allowing a good level of privacy while maintaining a dynamic atmosphere. The service is generally efficient and attentive to customer needs; the waiters are courteous and available to provide advice on the menu. However, on some occasions, during peak evenings, the service may be slightly slow or less precise, probably due to the volume of work. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, with a prevalence of traditional cuisine revisited in a modern key. The raw materials appear to be of good quality, fresh and seasonal. The portions are generous, and the presentation of the dishes is careful. Although the quality of the food is unquestionably good, there is perhaps a lack of originality and experimentation that could further elevate the culinary experience. Some dishes, although well executed, are a little predictable. The wine list is adequate, offering a decent selection of local and national wines. Overall, Rhodhause is a great option for a mid-to-upscale dinner in Desenzano. I would recommend a reservation, especially on weekends or in high season, to secure a table. The value for money is good, although not exceptional. A small improvement in the originality of the dishes and in the service during busier evenings would help achieve the 5 stars.

12/01/2025: The place seems a little empty with little furniture that gives it warmth. Low lights and it is clear that it is to save money. Little choice of wines, probably they have more choice for beers. Food that everyone liked a bit, based more on a pub choice in fact. The intolerable thing, however, is the heating which I consider essential if you have customers. You can't save on this by risking a cold or worse.

19/03/2025: Yesterday I bought meat empanadas. They were delicious and a little spicy, just the way I like them, but they were missing egg, olives, and raisins. It was just onion and meat. I hope the next time I come back they're really filling. Their chocolate cake is delicious.
