Forget franchises and tourist traps; this is the true taste of provincial Italy. Unbeatable value and a friendly service that makes you feel at home. You'll want to come back until they run out of flour.
15/02/2026: Truly a gem. A small but welcoming place. It's cold outside, you walk in, and a 1970s stove welcomes you into a sweet warmth. The owner, a friendly and approachable guy, immediately puts you at ease. The bread, I discover, is baked fresh. The dough is made in-house with local flours. Exceptional. Various high-quality side dishes paired perfectly... I had the capocollo with Tuscan pecorino and sun-dried tomatoes, which tasted magical. Craft beers on tap. Prices are absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food. Truly a place to remember.

08/02/2026: Discovered this restaurant by chance on my way back from Perugia. Everything was delicious. Authentic cuisine. Excellent for a pleasant, relaxing, and simple lunch.
The dessert was also excellent.
The service is their great added value.

24/01/2026: Al Leone never fails! Outstanding, country-style food and top notch pizza give you a wide choice of authentic, flawlessly executed options. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced.
Overall, excellent price to quality ratio, and we'll worth the drive to a rather remote village on the hills. We go there every time we are in or around Perugia...

08/12/2025: Yesterday, Sunday, around 3:00 PM, we were looking for a place that was open to eat and we came across this beautiful restaurant. A stunning veranda overlooking the center of Marsciano, with lots of plants and flowers on the walls. The waiter, despite the hour, welcomed us kindly. He served us a platter of cold cuts, warm bruschetta, and high-quality cheeses. Handmade tagliolini with white ragù and truffle shavings were a delicacy we will never forget. To finish, a sublime tiramisu by the glass. Such kindness and friendliness! Excellent quality/price ratio. We have saved it among our favorites, we want to return soon to discover the rest of the menu!

The gentleman is a testament to honesty, as when I paid with 50 euros, another 50 euro note stuck to it, and he immediately took care of giving me back what belonged to me. 28/02/2026: You probably won't find it on The Fork or TripAdvisor, but it deserves five stars for the quality of the food and the friendliness and kindness of the staff. Excellent dishes prepared directly by the owner.

We ate well.
Tagliatelle with black truffle was truly delicious.
The Orvieto Chardonnay was excellent.
The wild boar with polenta and the mixed boiled meats were equally excellent.
The desserts, both the castagnaccio and the ricotta cake, were truly delicious.
The price was in line with the quality of the ingredients.
Definitely worth trying.

The atmosphere was very welcoming, with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere: it wasn't too noisy and the ambiance was truly comfortable, which is not a given. There's also a very pleasant outdoor area, perfect for a quiet al fresco meal.
The food is excellent, with traditional dishes prepared with great care and using the freshest ingredients.
An added bonus is definitely the owner, who is very kind, helpful, and attentive to his customers, making you feel at home.
20/02/2026: I've been coming to this place for over ten years during the truffle festival. What can I say? The owners are kind and friendly, as is the rest of the staff. Excellent food and very competitive prices. Try it, you won't regret it.

28/01/2026: The restaurant is very charming, housed in a rustic farmhouse, furnished in an equally rustic style, and very welcoming. The service was good, everyone was very friendly, but what I really didn't like was the plating technique for the food we ordered. Specifically, the pasta—umbricelli, if I'm not mistaken—was sparse, presented on a huge plate, and the seafood was in its shells, making it seem like a huge dish, but in reality there was very little pasta. The same trick was used with the fried fish, accompanied by homemade potato chips, mixed with the fish, resulting in all potatoes and very little fried food. I don't think this place is for me.

03/03/2026: When there's no free table inside, you can sit outside, sheltered by a veranda, and you'll be treated with all the attention.
A restaurant with a good menu, combining pleasant flavors and traditional local flavors, and a good red wine that warms your stomach and helps you absorb the dishes served.
The service is polite, courteous, and efficient, the bill is fair. Well done, we'll definitely return to try the witch's soup.
22/02/2026: Yesterday we had lunch at this trattoria; we couldn't have made a better choice! For starters, a lovely platter of game cured meats, each one better than the last. The bruschetta with pecorino cheese, honey, and coffee was a wonderful surprise! The first courses were truly magical: the wild boar ragù was truly fantastic, and the maltagliati with porcini mushrooms and sausage was a real treat! For the main course, a pork stew with wine that melted in your mouth. Kudos to all the staff, and a special thank you from our dog, too.
