29/07/2024: Our boys have celiac disease. The shop was one of her highlights in Tuscany. You won't find such a great selection anywhere else. The staff is very friendly.

10/08/2024: It used to be great, now it's not. Pasta is no longer as good as it used to be. For the checkout the queue is endless, due to the cashier who also gives the pastries, as well as chatting a lot. The bartender is slow, I've seen very few that slow. But the worst thing is the veranda outside where they allow smoking, and rude people don't limit themselves alone, even if surrounded by children. It used to be a reference, now it's so out of date that I won't go back to it again. A real loss for the area.

26/08/2024: I don't think it can be defined as a bookshop anymore, but more of a tourist attraction. I went in yesterday to look for a book (which I miraculously found despite the terrible general selection) and I noticed with great disappointment how large the section of foreign language books was compared to that of Italian books. I have nothing against English, but it seems clear to me that Florence and its bookshops have made a tourist-type choice even on their shelves, which at the entrance only display books and gadgets relating to Florence and throughout the ground floor almost exclusively books in language. Even the stationery section is practically non-existent. Even the staff seem to have to sell you something at all costs (I can't imagine the pressure they receive from above... But I frequent several Feltrinellis even outside Tuscany and I've never received this pressure). I understand that there are many tourists in Florence, but are citizens and students, who need more detailed books than the four TikTok novels, no longer worth anything? Appalled by this choice

03/08/2024: Thought we could outsmart other reviewers. Wrong! Food first. Couple of good courses. Otherwise everything too salty, snacks were below bib gourmand. Too long to deliver, nothing you’d want to eat again. Compared to Smyth, Blumenthal, Bernadin, even poor Ramsay - just not good. Reviewers have already mentioned wine list. It’s not poor, it’s just cynical. Unless you’re getting a Petrus forget about getting a good drop of wine. EUR 295 a head for a bad white and not good red for the ‘entire evening’. And smirking sommelier decreasing your glass size with every pour. Go to the nearest wine shop and buy a Brunello for EUR 60. Don’t do this. ‘Water menu’ starts at EUR 15. Service is pleasant and endearing considering what they’re dealing with. Go to an aspiring one star instead.
