19/03/2025: What a great meal we had at Il Carretto 😊 I had the fish of the day (sea bass) with garlicky greens - it was beyond delicious and my husband’s pasta was also so good. Wine and desserts were great & the waiter was super friendly & attentive. I would 100% recommend Il Carretto

14/03/2025: On 03/04/2025 my friends and I went for lunch at this restaurant, a very welcoming place, excellent for all those who try it, whether for a quick lunch or even lunch or dinner with friends. The staff is very helpful and always kind. On the menu you are spoiled for choice, leaving you happy but very satisfied; I'll be back again, it's a beautiful place, I highly recommend it so as not to be disappointed.

08/03/2025: We went today 08/03 for an ambient lunch without pressure but acceptable, we waited 1 hour after ordering, we were superior in quality but, tagliatelle with mushrooms, portion too exaggerated and for nothing thrown in the pan with the bottom of the plate with a lot of liquid, but let's say just acceptable, a fried calamari also without praise and without infamy, baked potatoes with 2/3 mm of oil on the bottom of the plate... really not! Price if everything had been of overall good quality, but not so! We finished lunch, but we definitely won't be back!

21/01/2025: The Virginia bar in via Sammartino in Palermo is a little gem that deserves a stop. The staff is helpful, attentive and friendly, with genuine smiles that, nowadays, are not found everywhere — and here they are absolutely free! 😊 The place is clean, bright and welcoming, with seating both inside, on comfortable stools, and outside, where well-arranged tables allow you to enjoy the atmosphere of the city. For a moment we forget the traffic and the horns and hear someone from some apartment playing the drums and the violin... savoring our food... The quality of the products is excellent: everything is genuine and fresh. Today I tried a berry croissant with chopped pistachios — a real delight. The berry jam was sweet enough, balanced and not cloying. A small detail that makes you smile: even a hungry pigeon appreciated the goodness of the croissant (certainly not the bar's fault!), but the staff, always attentive, is ready to intervene to guarantee the comfort of the guests. Recommended for those looking for a simple place but with excellent quality and a warm welcome. Try it to believe it!

It is not the best in Palermo, but given the prices and the variety of dishes available, I would recommend it for those who are not looking for sophisticated places with absurd prices, but something quiet without too many pretensions

The breakfast is good but too much focus on sweets, could be a bit healthier in my opinion. The only negative detail about this hotel is the poor coffee included with the breakfast.

For Santa Lucía we tried the arancini, nothing special, the classic ones, excellent with Nutella, speck and provola to throw in and those with sausage... an inedible acidic taste

26/11/2024: My favorite bar for breakfast and chatting. Super nice staff, homemade specialties and a very relaxed atmosphere, completely away from the hustle and bustle but still very central. Sometimes I also come for lunch, the small menu changes daily and there is always something for me (salad, soup, pasta or even pizza). Thank you for this beautiful place where you quickly feel at home!

09/11/2024: Bar, pastry shop, with the new concept of American bakery, as modern diktats suggest, where you can enjoy excellent baked products. Reference and meeting point for those who want to spend a moment of relaxation or for work, as it is located in a crucial point of the city of Palermo, adjacent to the port entrance, therefore also a destination for a foreign audience. Their cabarets for sweet or savory breakfast are excellent, the express dishes are also good, the cappuccino and the empty croissant ordered are perfect. Informal and retro internal location, very easy and minimal outdoor area. Good value for money with friendly and helpful service.

02/11/2024: Unacceptable waiting times: 1 hour and 30 minutes for 3 slices of swordfish, also accompanied by a side dish different from the one ordered. Typical Sicilian appetizers soaked in oil and salt concentrates. I'm sorry to have to write that the service also leaves something to be desired: we had to beg for napkins and 5 were brought (when we were six). I wouldn't go back…

27/10/2024: If I could give 0 stars I would. We came when they opened and already the waiter looked annoyed that he had costumers, because he preferred to sit with his friends and smoke. We ordered 4 pizzas and 3 of them were pretty soggy especially the ricotta one was swimming in ricotta water. It was disappointing because the pizzas were expensive and we followed the waiter recommendations. The service was non existent, he didn’t ask us if the food was good so we didn’t had the chance to send it back. He only bothered to show again to clear the plates and give us the check. When we got the check we saw that he over charged us for 2 items from the menu as well. To summarize very bad service, expensive pizzas that does not worth your money.

23/03/2025: It was recommended to me by a friend for a quick lunch... an impressive confusion and this already aroused suspicion for me. We ordered a sandwich 🍔 🍔 with chicken and roasted aubergine inside... tasteless chicken, very bitter aubergine... super fast service. Very dirty bathroom beyond belief, a place certainly not worthy of Palermo street food, suitable for students and tourists, very mass-produced and poor quality. Never again@!
