22/03/2026: Unfortunately, the experience was negative due to the service. The lady taking orders was extremely slow and seemed completely lost among the tables. The overall impression was one of confusion and disorganization: we waited much longer than necessary before we could even order.

02/11/2025: This is a review for both Noir restaurant and Nautilus fish shop, but I have had to change the wording as Google won’t allow the exact same review for both. We started at Nautilus and chose our seafood - salmon, octopus and porgy. We then asked for all to be grilled and served to us in Noir, which was a bit tricky to communicate initially. The Nautilus people could not have been more friendly and helpful. They helped us select fish and suggested alternates. Which given we didn’t speak Italian, and their English was ok, worked surprisingly well. We then went to Noir. Not much atmosphere, and even though there were only 4 other tables, our meal took a very long time to prepare. Half the main serves came out in around 15 minutes with the side courses, then the rest around 30 minutes after that. The waitstaff seemed pretty disinterested or busy in other things, and we had to ask for things a few times. Overall, the seafood was super fresh and tasty, but the clunky restaurant service meant it didn’t work well for a larger group of 6. The restaurant ambience is also pretty basic. These things considered, the meal was definitely very expensive for what it was. We saw some other customers with lobster pasta - and had we known better and /or chosen better that’s definitely what we would have tried. Recommend booking as the fish shop seems to close around 8, so the restaurant also finishes up quite early.

07/04/2026: Paying for an Aperol Spritz to have an aperitif made with a cheap product that has nothing to do with Aperol is unbearable!!!!! €16.50 for 2 rubbish with a trio of olives, peanuts and raid 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 never again!!!!!! Given the response I can also say that it may be that I am "ignorant" on the subject but certainly the person at the cashier was even more so, from the moment we asked for 2 Spritzes he asked us "Aperol or Campari?" Having neither he could have avoided asking the question and not made us feel fooled.

11/12/2025: Congratulations to Pasticceria Fanelli for this cake with its delicate flavor and harmonious aesthetic. The pastry chef accommodated all our requests, and her personal touch in the artistic composition exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

30/11/2025: Excellent desserts and tasty cakes. The pastry chef may lack a little imagination, but the quality is second to none! The staff is friendly and always very helpful.

14/12/2025: Excellent location in one of the towns of Salento where there is practically nothing...at least a corner with lots of sweets and good service, even if the atmosphere really leaves a lot to be desired...Pasticciotto and Via!!!

26/11/2025: Different prices for tourists. Taranta Night: the afternoon before the party, beers had one price, and by evening, the prices had magically increased. The owner's explanation: it's a party, so I'm raising the prices because, having more customers, I had to hire another bartender, and besides, it's still cheaper than up north. If you don't remember me, I'm the Taranto native who told you that tourists aren't stupid; they pay the first time, and the second time, they don't come back. Don't complain that there's less and less tourism in Salento; you deserve it.

03/03/2026: While in Maglie, we visited Caffè Della Libertà and had a wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed, the coffee was delicious, and the pastries were fresh and delicious. It's a pleasant, local spot with a good vibe—perfect for a quiet coffee in the city center.

03/03/2026: We went to this place to satisfy our sweet tooth, but we were disappointed. We ordered a pasticciotto, a pistachio cream puff, and a cannolo, but unfortunately, none of them impressed us. From such a seemingly "historic" place, you'd expect something completely different.

13/09/2025: Quality, combination, clarity, presentation. Tutto perfetto. Mother and daughter (both incredibly beautiful) are in the kitchen. They cook the way we imagine real Italian cuisine to be. This clarity of dish, quality and ingredients, and precise preparation. They can tell when the pasta is al dente; they don't have to pluck a noodle out every minute to check the doneness. We ate deliciously; I'd give it a star. Plucked skate, served lukewarm with steamed fennel, olive oil, and salt. Mussels with risotto, rice, and tender boiled potatoes. Delicious broth. Then pasta with prawns and small, sun-ripened tomatoes. For the main course, sea bass, perfectly prepared, just a touch of olive oil. This is a hidden gem here in Puglia. We drank a bottle of wine with it: Cervaro from Antinori. Also a hidden gem. My absolute favorite wine. We'll be back, for sure. With a big hug ☺️🙏
