21/07/2026: Yesterday afternoon, I accompanied my children to Parco Gondar in Gallipoli for a concert. While waiting for the event to end, I took a stroll downtown with my wife. The sirocco wind was unbearably hot, and once we reached the old town, I decided to cool off with a tonic. My wife had recommended a nice ice cream shop, but I opted for a more basic-looking bar, convinced I'd save money. ​I couldn't have made a worse choice. I went to the cashier and they slapped me a €6 bill. I repeat: €6 for a tonic! Adding insult to injury, I asked for a slice of lemon and the bartender told me they didn't have any. The drink was served directly at the counter, with three measly ice cubes, in a glass advertising beer. A pitiful service, to say the least. ​I understand that I'm in the center of Gallipoli, but taking advantage of people like this, tourists or otherwise, is pure dishonesty. They're hoping to make money from record in a single day, offering terrible service in a place that doesn't even have air conditioning. Not recommended."

18/06/2026: I'm giving it three stars only for the quality of the food and the atmosphere, because otherwise I'm still visibly shaken. On Friday night, we went to Taverna del Maltese to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place is truly beautiful and welcoming, with an excellent selection of craft beers. The sandwiches were also spectacular, tasty, and made with top-quality ingredients. The problem arose halfway through the evening. After drinking a couple of beers, I asked where the bathroom was. They vaguely pointed me down the hall, but I must have gone the wrong way. I found myself in a kind of dark closet, filled with old signs and empty beer crates. At the far end of the room, half-hidden by an old keg, was a heavy metal door, identical to those found in industrial kitchens, with a small, opaque glass porthole in the center. Intrigued, and convinced it was a shortcut to the restrooms, I approached and looked inside. What I saw will haunt me forever. In a room lit by flickering neon lights, there weren't the waiters we'd seen in the dining room, but monstrous creatures, vaguely human-like but with disproportionate mouths and long, slimy fingers. They were literally gobbling down, with animalistic voracity, an immense quantity of sweets. Specifically, they were devastating three different cakes: A monumental cream millefeuille, with layers of pastry flying everywhere as they devoured it with both hands. A giant, dense, blackish Sacher torte, which these creatures smeared on their faces, grunting with pleasure. A refined tart of fresh fruit and Chantilly cream, whose berries dripped onto the floor like blood. As they chewed noisily and disgustingly, I heard them laughing and whispering among themselves in hollow voices: "Free... everything free and succulent!" They smell of fresh ignorance, they smell of new customers... poor fools, they don't know that you should NEVER bring cakes here, eheheheh.....». If you go to the Taverna del Maltese, enjoy the beer and sandwiches, which are excellent. But leave the cakes at home.

18/06/2026: Absurd! I brought a birthday cake, my birthday. I left it on the table and then went to the bathroom while I waited for the guests. Never was a mistake more fatal... I returned and my cake was gone, replaced by a waiter covered head to toe in the frothy cream of MY cake, now reduced to an ornament on a hungry and greedy body. Despite the evidence, he had the courage to respond to my accusations by denying it. "No, sir, you're wrong. There was no cake on the table. You must have made a mistake." I flew into a rage, but it was no use; everyone pretended not to believe me and called me crazy. I pointed my finger at the waiter, pointing at the cream, and everyone looked at the finger. A surreal situation that forced me to leave the place, slamming the door. I will never return.

07/08/2026: Renowned establishment, but nightmare organization and service: a well-known pastry shop in Foggia with good-quality products, but the experience is ruined by terrible and disorganized service. The main problems are obvious: a single cash register for a huge establishment where it takes forever just to pay in the morning; an abandoned dining room with over a 20-minute wait to order at the table, despite repeatedly asking two waiters to clear the table; distracted and understaffed staff, with an embarrassing amount of dirty dishes piled up behind the counter and staff who mix up orders because they're distracted by chatting with other customers. It's a shame the ingredients are good, but they urgently need better organization, hygiene, and staff.

03/08/2026: August 2, 2026. We order two ice creams, one in a cup with three flavors and a cone with two flavors. We then sit at the table. The prices displayed for the ice creams are as follows: 2 flavors €3.00 - 3 flavors €4.00 At checkout, we pay €9, or €4.50 per ice cream. If I ordered two-flavor ice cream, why do I have to pay the same as my friend's three-flavor ice cream? I also ask for an explanation, and the lady (with the tail) at the cashier says that mine had more ice cream!! ABSURD. Who asked her that! I read it as two flavors €3 and I pay €4.50, the same as my friend's three-flavor ice cream! Furthermore, the lady (with the tail) is rude and annoying. Basically, on a €3 ice cream, a supplement of €1.50. Education and transparency make the difference. Change your employees, otherwise you'll lose many customers.

12/04/2026: The croissants are excellent, even the savory ones. I was only disappointed with the brioche because I asked for chocolate to be added, but it wasn't. It's not fair to pay €0.80 or €1 more when you don't get anything.

18/08/2026: I didn't believe there was an app to help me choose a place. The app found this place for me by calculating the calories from the photo. I ordered the black meat sandwich, which was high in protein and delicious. The service was quick and easy.

18/05/2026: The place is a bit small, but welcoming. The quality of the products and beers is good.

19/04/2026: Let's leave aside the first item, the dessert tray. 10 euros is fair! But doesn't 17 euros for 6 appetizers and 2 crodini seem a bit too much? And the articles don't specify what I got. I feel scammed!

01/05/2026: We called the day before to make a reservation for May 1st, and they told us there was no need to reserve and that we could just show up. We did so, and at 12:30 we showed up. Once there, the waiter showed up with a list of reservations and told us there were no more seats, even though the room was half empty. He obviously didn't want our money. An arrogant atmosphere, from the valet to the waiters. I strongly advise against it.

11/04/2026: The pastry shop is excellent; the brittle cake is a delight. Excellent quality mini pastries. When I order the cakes, specifying the features I'd like, they turn out to be masterpieces of beauty and deliciousness!

04/08/2026: The restaurant is family-run, and is mostly frequented by locals, not tourists. We had delicious fried fish, delicious mussels, and a pizza with shrimp cocktail, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! 🙃 There's a bit of a wait before ordering, but if you're not in a hurry, it's not a bother.

25/07/2026: We booked for 9 people, but when we arrived, the table was barely set for 7. Instead of professionally remedying the situation, we simply encountered unacceptable rudeness from the entire staff. The setting is horrible, and the atmosphere is truly unpleasant. If this is how they treat guests who book, it's best to change your profession.

08/03/2026: Very friendly staff, the croissants are made by them and you have the option of filling them of your choice including pineapple, apricot, white cream and other flavours!
