13/07/2026: TRUE STORY: My wife and I are moving to Varese for a few weeks to give birth to our son. She already knew Il Gestore, but I hadn't been there since I wasn't a regular in the city. "We absolutely have to try it!" she tells me. We make a reservation one evening, but she starts to show the first signs of labor, so we have to cancel. The next day, labor is intermittent. Our doula advises my wife to do something that makes her feel good, to release oxytocin, which usually kicks things off. She immediately says, "Lobster linguine, I want the lobster linguine from Il Gestore!" I call to see if they can do takeout: "Sorry, we have a wedding today and the kitchen is busy. Could a piece of foie gras be okay?" My wife loves foie gras, so I go get it. I arrive at the restaurant, a beautiful villa, where I'm warmly welcomed. Finally, they gave me the foie gras with a big "good luck." I took it to our accommodation, and with every bite, my wife had a contraction. About 12 hours later, our son was born! The Manager will forever be in our hearts, and we promised to bring our baby as soon as he's weaned.

The product selection is satisfactory, with a good variety of chocolates and some interesting offers that allow for purchases at reasonable prices. The staff is distinguished by their courtesy and expertise, always available to provide advice and information about the products. The chocolate artworks on display and the antique machinery used for processing are also fascinating, adding a cultural touch and making the visit more engaging. Overall, a positive experience, ideal for chocolate lovers.
