A quaint Scottish-themed pub in the center of Varese. Clean atmosphere but often very crowded, making it sometimes difficult to find a table. A variety of good-quality beers are available, and the selection changes frequently, so you can always try something new. They also have cider on tap, which is not easy to find here in Italy. The dishes are typically Scottish-inspired, though some of the quality isn't top-notch (in my opinion). It's a shame the prices are really high compared to other pubs I frequent, both for drinks and food. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and service is quick, except at peak times, when there can sometimes be a long wait.

The Scotsman is one of those pubs you'll want to return to because the atmosphere is always pleasant and relaxed. The place has a classic pub feel, warm and welcoming, perfect for a quick drink or a relaxed evening. The beer selection is extensive, with both classic and unique options, making it a great place for those looking to try something different. We tried the mango and chocolate cheesecakes: both were very good. The mango was fresher and more delicate, while the chocolate one was more intense and indulgent without being heavy. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere, with the right balance between a lively pub and a place where you can still relax and chat. Prices are reasonable. A positive experience, I'd gladly return :)

A classy and substantial place. The beers and food are good, and the staff are friendly without being overbearing and very efficient. There's also good background music.

I used to frequent the Scotsman 30 years ago, and the atmosphere is always unique and distinctive. Scottish-style food and beers make for a special evening. I'd suggest a little more lighting on the tables.

Very nice place, the food is good and there are plenty of vegetarian options. A great place to spend an evening with friends. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. We had to leave in a hurry while waiting for desserts due to an unexpected event, and they were super helpful in putting them in doggy bags for us to take away.

I used to go there years ago and I came back after a long time... it remained as it was... Food and beers to try.

The menu offers a wide selection; we ordered the mixed fried fish, which was truly delicious, and two first courses. The Scottish cuisine is very true to the original. The beers are also very good. Highly recommended.
