08/02/2026: Compared to the 5-star review from 8 years ago, which I'm not deleting and will repost below: "The food, location, service, and bill were truly excellent. Highly recommended!" I need to update my experience this way: This restaurant lists the word "pizzeria" on its website, sign, Tripadvisor, and menus, but according to the staff, they haven't made pizza for over three years. They're "tired of saying it" when people book and can't get it removed from the website. Without going into too much detail, I'll start by saying that we were 4 adults with 3 children under 4 (with the attendant needs), so I'll list a few things we found unpleasant: Waiting for them to finish clearing the tables even though we'd booked; Finding out they don't make pizza after we'd just sat down and ordered a pasta dish for one of the hungry girls; After more than an hour and a half of our arrival, we discovered that two main courses hadn't been processed and stopped our order because the children were starting to resist sitting down (despite the fact that the waiters passing by often found them in the way because we were trying to entertain them as best we could along a corridor in an area opposite the bathroom). Wine glasses brought to the table already poured by hand; Chipped beer mug; Cutlery brought directly to the table by hand; Waiter taking orders with his shirt open almost halfway down his chest. Interesting and pleasant food, but an overall unpleasant experience.

14/01/2026: A festive lunch for two, in a quiet and elegant setting on the seafront promenade. A wide selection of traditional Ligurian seafood dishes: we tried the fried stuffed sardines and sautéed mussels as an appetizer, and the tagliolini di nero with raw shrimp, burrata, and chopped pistachios—all truly delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. The desserts were also delicious, especially the sbrisolona with mascarpone cream and fresh red berries. Thanks for the helpful advice to the waiter, who served us with a subtle sense of humor—very friendly.

28/02/2026: What can I say? This is a unique place in Genoa. If you want an ice cream or a brioche with ice cream, this is the right place.

23/02/2026: The granitas and ice creams are good, nothing to complain about, but I once tried the tiramisu and it was the worst thing I've ever seen, a brick of ladyfingers and frozen cream.

14/02/2026: Pasticceria Buzzi is a historic place for locals and those who discovered it later. The brioches are, without exaggeration, the best in Genoa, because the dough is truly excellent and you almost want to eat it whole! The cappuccino is also good, which is not a given. They offer both small pastries and breakfast options. Imaginative parking along the street is a must ;) Highly recommended!!!

24/02/2026: There's absolutely no way they'd bring me the second course while I've just started the first, leaving me to eat the frozen meat (which is also of terrible quality, very salty and inedible even if it had been hot)!!! If you don't have space and you're working in a hurry, I'm sorry, but it can't be the customer's problem. It's a shame because the quantity of food is remarkable and the wine exceptional. But nooooo 🤬🤬🤬

28/12/2025: Trattoria with "homemade" cuisine. Tourist alert. The food was low quality for the price. Don't be fooled by the display; the fish wasn't as fresh as they would have you believe. All served with typical warm Genoese hospitality. Update: We were sick during the night.

08/03/2026: A great little spot for a unique breakfast in Alassio. A varied menu, including some vegan and gluten-free options.

05/01/2026: We had breakfast with delicious homemade cakes. It's a shame the other tourists didn't even bother going to the counter, instead ordering the classic croissant at the table, thus missing out on the cakes.

12/03/2026: We had dinner on Sunday evening....good appetizers....Catalan served in an unsuitable soup plate.....also....2 partners...one helpful and kind....the other would have been better off staying at home.....unfortunately not recommended

04/01/2026: The review I never thought I'd write... The brioches remain, in my opinion, the best in Genoa. The service has become worse than any seedy bar in the historic center. If those in charge allow a rude and inadequate young woman to ignore a customer, to refuse to serve him simply because the customer, after the fourth instance of disrespect, reacted by asking the owner to intervene... then the famous "Mantero Style" goes to hell. I will clearly never set foot in the bar again, and I don't think it will be a great loss for a bar that works so hard... in fact, it will be a victory for the gang of rude women who run it: the defeat of one of the last bastions of courtesy and professionalism we had in Sampierdarena remains. How bitter.

26/12/2025: Fabulous croissants!!! I love the cream brioche ❤️! Superior quality! The staff are always super helpful, kind, and patient 🥰🥰🥰!!! When I go to my mom's place in Sampierdarena, breakfast is a must (actually, going to mom's... it's almost an excuse to have breakfast at Mantero's!!)! Compliments to ALL the staff... managing everything quickly isn't easy, even if some people (fortunately, a few)... don't always understand!! Congratulations again and thank you for opening this "little salon" on Via Cantore!
