Angel's House

24/07/2025: It's called Angel's House... I assume they're referring to the famous fallen angel, of course. Have you seen his commemorative statue in Retiro Park, in Madrid? Go for it. It's really cool.
This place, however, isn't cool at all.
First, the service. The lady who served us was fed up with serving the customer. And, hey, I get it. It can't be easy. In fact, it must be pretty hard serving endless hordes of tourists for long hours. But, my dear... pretend a little! Don't let it show so much. We're not asking for a paragon of friendliness. It's enough for us not to notice the disgust.
Then, the ice cream. If you like ice cream in liter tubs at prices that would destroy human food chains like Carrefour, you'll love it. If you like ice cream, specifically Italian-style... Well, no.
I can't say much about coffee or sweets because I haven't tried it and, obviously, I never will.

02/08/2025: The owner should wear a balaclava, because it's like getting robbed. The sign outside the restaurant and the menu on the counter clearly state that an espresso costs €1.20, while table service costs €2.80. This isn't written anywhere, neither on the table when you sit down nor on the menu. It doesn't state that there's a service charge for table service (which is awful, by the way). Avoid this place like the plague.
A word of advice to the owner: look for Italian waiters who can speak multiple languages, not foreign waiters who barely understand Italian.

16/07/2025: A wonderful place right next to the Colosseum, with very friendly and helpful staff. It makes you want to come back. Delicious coffee, breakfasts, and delicious drinks. The atmosphere here is incredible. I wholeheartedly recommend it 🇮🇹❤️

21/06/2025: First of all, the staff are crazy..
They talk too much and don't serve you because they're too chatty
No one is making the coffee you ordered, and they're all just gathered together and chatting, so when you call them to order, they block your order with their hands and don't even look at you, they just pretend to wait, and they just keep talking in front of a regular customer (an old man)
The other couple table that came in with me and the family table got tired of waiting and left
We also stopped by the cafe to use the restroom, so we got a cup of coffee and left right away.
11/04/2025: Great Aperol Spritz with chips they add to the beverage. Very good sandwiches with focaccia, they warm them and they are really tasty.
Nice, calm musics and welcoming staff. Clean toilets and neat counters.

09/07/2025: It's a place to dive right out of St. Peter's Basilica. The Frappacino was delicious, the Nagroni was also a hit, and they serve chips on the side. The prices are a bit higher than market prices, but it's both a very touristy place and a haven from the heat, so that's about it.

19/08/2025: This is a quick-serve diner, serving small Flemish dishes, so there's always a refill and freshly cooked food.
Quality ingredients and generous portions, reasonable prices (displayed on the blackboard outside) are absolutely affordable. Sure, cheaper diners might offer lower prices, but here the food and comfortable atmosphere justify that extra euro.

16/07/2025: Siamo arrivati tardissimo e nonostante questo c’era qualcosa ancora per la colazione… tutto davvero buonissimo.. cappuccini perfetti cremosi, brioches e pasticcini buonissimi.. i due signori che ci hanno serviti gentilissimi e disponibili … quando saremo a Roma torneremo senz’altro… saluti dalla Sardegna ☀️

04/08/2025: Honestly, never again. A small cup of ice cream with two flavors costs 7 euros, and even though I insisted on having a small one too, they said no, because since I'm an adult, they would have charged me the same as a large one, so 10 euros. Three ice creams cost 24 euros. Never, I mean never again.
31/07/2025: Better not to comment. The staff is rude. As stressed as they may be, I'm okay with being rudely answered once, but the second time I start to get irritated.

Entonces no pudieron devolverme el dinero de la manera normal en mi tarjeta.
Es realmente malo - simplemente encontrar otro lugar si no quieres arrepentimientos!

22/04/2025: Non valuto la qualità dei prodotti (poco sotto la sufficienza, un bel 5.5 pieno) ma la maleducazione del personale. Dopo aver consumato gelati e due bottigliette d'acqua, prima di andare via andiamo a buttare la plastica nei bidoni posti difronte al locale .
4 bidoni, uno con scritto carta, uno organico uno chiuso e uno senza alcuna scritta. Butto le bottiglie in quest'ultimo nel cui interno vedo anche coppette di gelato usate e sporche e quindi penso sia indifferenziata.
Esce un dipendente con fare strafottente dicendo ad alta voce che stavo buttando plastica nella carta, come se fossi un incivile (potevo lasciare tutto sul tavolo ma ho ben pensato di buttare io stesso le cose che avevamo consumato..). Chiedo dove fosse il cestino della plastica e mi risponde che non c'era.
Consiglio ai gestori di valutare bene il personale perché se mancano buone maniere ed educazione non serve a nulla tutto il resto.
Da evitare
10/04/2025: Personale stupido e incompetente. Presuntuoso, incompetente, sgarbato, molto brutto dopo la ristrutturazione, non più accogliente, in pessimo stato. Non più consigliato.

23/08/2025: We ordered main courses, not platters. Restaurant prices, but portions that weren't even enough for children. Luckily, there was bread to fill us up.
The food is all reheated in the microwave.
Only positive note: the staff is friendly.
