02/08/2025: When they say, "The best things come in small packages," this is exactly what you feel at the end of every culinary experience at "ai Maestri." You can enjoy excellent, fresh fish dishes—always original and delicious, in my opinion—of superior quality in a small, historic restaurant in the heart of Trieste. Furthermore, not to be overlooked is the friendliness and professionalism of the owners, who embrace you with special attention and pamper you so you can truly feel at home, and this was greatly appreciated. What more can I say? I recommend it not only for the food but also for everything it represents.

09/08/2025: Highly recommended! We ate outside; the food was very good and the staff was friendly. And something I don't usually find is a very comfortable table, especially when using a wheelchair. You'll usually find tables with a central leg or small ones.

15/06/2025: Very good food, great variety of beers on tap. Excellent value for money. Bathroom with changing table. The only big flaw: they don't do separate bills. Considering that orders are taken with a PDA, it's an incomprehensible choice.

Good variety of sandwiches and dishes of the day, also with vegan or celiac options, and super flexible in adapting dishes for special needs. Good beers on tap, and in bottles they have gluten-free beer and also non-alcoholic beer.

11/06/2025: We stumbled upon this lovely family-owned restaurant that proved to be a hidden gem. Even though we arrived without a reservation and before they were officially open, the owner warmly welcomed us and let us settle in outside. While we waited, we were given complimentary aperitivos and delicious appetizers. The service throughout the evening was welcoming and genuine. You could truly feel the care and passion that goes into this family establishment. Food was absolutely delicious and wonderfully original - mixed fried seafood, a perfectly prepared seafood pasta, and an impressive mixed platter. While it might be a bit off the beaten path, it's worth the walk!

08/06/2025: Authentic and deliciously prepared local cuisine served in moderized and tasteful vaulted rooms with countryside charm ( note the antique mirrors). A soothing jazz playlist sets the stage for a great dining experience. Artichokes served in several dishes are great choices.

13/07/2025: I visit this bar regularly, and have no complaints. Morning, day and night, the waitresses are so friendly and accommodating. Recently I have enjoyed their addition on the menu of iced coffees in this heat. I have no faults with their cocktails and aperitifs, especially as there is always an abundance of snacks to enjoy with an aperol, Hugo or the new custom spritz flavours, while taking in the bustling street. I’ll always return time and time again, couldn’t recommend more to locals and tourists asking for local tips.

04/07/2025: According to chatgpt, the cornets were in the top 5 of Trieste's best, but that's not the case. They leave a feeling of excess fat on the palate. The coffee isn't great. The place is very nice, old and well-maintained, but it's expensive.

08/07/2025: Very nice hostess, delicious croissants, great coffee and even better atmosphere. The lady only speaks Italian but we managed to communicate. There is a toilet, but expect a typical Italian one.

01/08/2025: Not a great experience. We were greeted at the entrance by someone who seemed annoyed by our arrival. The staff were very cold and the service was incredibly fast; we finished dinner within 15 minutes.

23/07/2025: Extra large and extra good portions... that really test your oral capacity... whether they're sandwiches (sandwiches is really an understatement), bruschetta, or other delicacies. 18/07/2025: Last night after many years of being in Cividale I tried Happy Days and I tell you exceptional in everything I was amazed I will always return.
