11/05/2025: I entered the restaurant “A maidda” by chance because I didn’t know it had reopened and I discovered that you can have the pleasure of eating there only on weekends. The place is suggestive and very romantic! I had the orecchiette scented with fennel… Amazing dish… Impeccable cooking and delicate and tasty fennel cream. The chef who is also the owner of the restaurant is very knowledgeable as well as very kind and friendly and the staff is very kind and very friendly He explained to us that the menu varies according to seasonal products. I also learned that the place offers experiences and culinary journeys of a certain depth. I promised myself to return more often!

26/04/2025: We had dinner here on a Saturday night and had a very good meal. Well-prepared traditional local foods, excellent flavors and very inviting combinations. The appetizer is highly recommended. Very friendly staff, particular place with some tables inside a small cave. Absolutely recommended!

11/05/2025: Maximum stars for everything! Wonderful location located on the somewhat bumpy road that leads to the Calatabiano Castle, an excellent point to admire the hill, the town and the Alcantara from above. Wonderful meeting place after a nice hike! Possibility to sit both inside and on the terrace, welcoming and comfortable environment, furnished with attention to detail. We ordered bruschetta, chips, fresh pasta with ragù, pasta with pistachio, mixed roast, plate of lemon meatballs and baked potatoes. All of high quality accompanied by a beautiful choreography that fills both the stomach and the eyes! The service was impeccable and fast. Congratulations for the kindness and empathy of the owner who was able to understand the difficulties of my youngest daughter. Congratulations also for the cleanliness of the toilets. Next time we will return to fill a nice table in the company of our friends, this time perhaps to enjoy a pizza!

31/05/2025: We really enjoyed visiting La Caravella while on holiday in Taormina. Our hotel recommended it to us and arranged for their shuttle to come and collect us. This was great as we later found out that taxis to go down the hill from La Taormina are extremely expensive. We were very warmly greeted and offered a pick of sun loungers. This excellent service continued all day, with the waiters and beach boys quick to offer any help or service you required. The beach is stony with small pebbles so bring water shoes or flip flops. This place is clean and well maintained but does not have the glossy chic ( or cost!) of some fancy beach bars which are perhaps for younger people more interested in a party vibe, but the service and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for. A great team of people supervised by a hands-on, friendly proprietor. The highlight of the day was the food. Julio recommended the daily specials on both of our visits, and both were outstanding. They have a very talented chef for sure. I have never tasted tuna steak so moist and flavoursome. The pasta with fresh anchovies prepared Sicilian style was also delicious. There are also much plainer offerings on the menu. The shuttle bus returned us to our hotel at the end of the day. Thoroughly enjoyable day and I highly recommend.

14/05/2025: Good variety of dishes, including international cuisine, very well prepared. Quick service. I recommend the seafood appetizers, the grilled fish and the Valencian paella (for two people). Average prices... About 35 euros per person.

11/05/2025: Nice place where you can have a brunch, an aperitif, a snack or a complete lunch. Nice and welcoming environment. The only flaw: it only has one internal space for consumption so it is not very suitable for the summer period and for smokers.

26/05/2025: We had a wonderful birthday party at this restaurant! The staff is very helpful and offer good advice. This restaurant definitely deserves a good rating, and it's normal to have to wait a little while if it's busy. We recommend it.

15/02/2025: Elegant venue for any beautiful occasion....! And you can see it from how you can see from the photos! We ate there, super Valentine's Day menu that is yesterday... what can I say, simply wonderful from the polite staff, to the owner of the house as well as Carmelo and his whole family who are wonderfully kind, they satisfied us in everything... they know how to do it great! We had fun, we also danced, ate great, everything was excellent, freshly prepared, genuine stuff! So the eye also wants its part... see you next time 😘

24/12/2024: Great pizzeria, I often get take-out pizza from them and it's really good. It's definitely one of the best pizzas in the area. The place is small and they only have a few seats, but as a take-out pizza place it's great.

13/10/2024: I was in this place on Saturday evening, you immediately noticed the dated interior furnishings, the bathrooms were also clean and above all with toilets for disabled people, everything was a bit old.. On the other hand, the dinner was good, the hot appetizer although small in quantity was good, the pizza was delicious and seasoned. Excellent service, very attentive to customer needs. Average prices.
