If it were possible, I would give it 10 stars without hesitation – the cuisine is exceptionally high-quality and impresses with its creativity, quality, and perfect preparation. The ambiance is equally impressive: there's so much to discover, every detail is thoughtfully designed, and everything contributes to a truly special experience. The extensive wine list perfectly complements the meal and offers the perfect pairing for every palate. Prices are in the mid- to upper-range, which is absolutely justified given the quality offered. An important tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance for the evening, as the restaurant is very popular. Communication is very straightforward – the staff speaks fluent German. In short: A culinary experience you shouldn't miss!

01/03/2026: Starting with the very welcoming and comfortable venue, my partner and I had a great time. The service was warm and the dishes were truly exquisite. Furthermore, the staff described the dishes in detail. (We each chose an appetizer, a first course, a dessert, and a glass of still water.) We were passing through on a trip, and it was an excellent stop. We recommend it; good value for money. Absolutely.

22/03/2026: We had lunch here today. Everything was delicious, dishes from the Garfagnana area. The service was quick and attentive. The only flaw was the dessert... we had tiramisu, but unfortunately, it was a pavesino soaked in coffee with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa. It couldn't be called tiramisu. I wondered where the mascarpone cream was. I'd say it's a reinterpretation... a very reinterpretation. 🤣 Clean bathrooms. Overall, a good restaurant.

25/01/2026: Nice place away from the chaos, the guys are all great... I always feel great when I leave there. We always order the fried pasta (delicious) because the tomato sauce is exceptional; the pizzas are excellent, with beautiful toppings, but I tried the new sandwiches and was amazed! We had the tempura shrimp sandwich (pictured) and the tuna one, delicious, we weren't expecting them. Well done, well done, well done! P.S. The desserts are also very good and highly recommended. (P.S.: The pizzeria has moved from the restaurant, which is now located on Via Romana.)

The staff is polite and attentive. The owner is truly kind and courteous. The food is simple but authentic and the combinations are imaginative. I highly recommend it! Thanks from Rome to the owner and staff.

06/04/2026: The atmosphere is much calmer than in the nearby square. There were four of us, and we ordered pizzas, homemade spaghetti, and octopus: everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The service was quick, and the staff were very friendly. All this for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

20/01/2026: I go there regularly when I go to pick up fish at the Volpi fishmonger's early in the morning. Very early in the morning, I meet an older man (I think the owner), who's very friendly and nice. The Valdostana is delicious, and here you can also find the real old Spuma Bionda.

10/01/2026: Bar Irene is now an institution, and they know how to do it. There are only two problems: 1) the indoor space is practically nonexistent, so there's only outdoor space. 2) people smoke outside, regardless of whether someone is still eating at the next table. If good manners aren't present (i.e., getting up and moving away from the tables), the manager should intervene and allow smoking either outside or on the outdoor terrace. This is the only really annoying thing.

26/12/2025: Christmas lunch set menu. Everything was excellent, from appetizer to dessert. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, the service was prompt, and the place was spotless. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

26/12/2025: Update December 2025: We celebrated Christmas here with our family. Service was excellent, and the food was excellent. Three seafood appetizers (see photo) cost €60 (paccheri with cherry tomatoes, scampi, clams, and lupini beans), mixed fried fish with anchovies and fried vegetables, and panettone with cream, water, wine, and coffee. It was sold out. Update 2025: Everything is always great at La Casina! --- We're regulars at this restaurant, and I can say it's an extremely good restaurant, especially for the price. The dishes are good and plentiful, and there's no cover charge. I recommend the tagliolini with lobster, the seafood sauté, and the cacciucco (fish stew). Located in the Viareggio pine forest, 200 meters from the sea, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with air conditioning. During high season, it's better to reach it by bike than by car due to the lack of parking in the area (free parking nearby from 1-3 PM and after 8 PM). They often offer a free after-dinner drink at the end of the meal. - August 2023. This year too, we've been to the local restaurant a couple of times, always top-notch. The seafood is good and plentiful, and there's a fixed-price menu available (4 appetizers, 2 first courses, fried food, and water, plus wine). The staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a wide variety of "ammazza caffè" (afternoon tea) for those like me who don't get the usual "amaro del Capo" (a bitter liqueur). Don't be put off by anyone who complains about slow service. The staff is always busy, but when there's a lot of people, you might have to wait, but that means you'll eat well!
