31/12/2023: I like the atmosphere of the store. The shelves are full of good wines and other delicacies and specialties. It's quaintly cozy. The wines, sparkling wines and hot chocolate we have tried so far are very tasty. However, there is also a little room for improvement: old glasses should definitely be replaced if they are as “blind” as we received them at the table. That would give the store more credit. And unfortunately I have to say that I don't find the owner particularly friendly. And that makes it not so inviting.

22/11/2023: Too bad classic beers like becks. Heineken etc etc are no longer served in this place. With the promise that they would arrive shortly, 3 months have now passed since the last bottle... as for the afternoon staff, always kind and helpful, a very nice and nice place.

06/04/2024: Lunch with a couple of friends. With a couple of friends who came from Brescia to visit us, we decided to go to Coppale for lunch and this time too the choice proved to live up to expectations. Our friends were pleasantly satisfied both with the place which offers a very beautiful view of Lake Monate and with the quality food consumed. The staff is very professional and friendly, the environment is really beautiful... especially the veranda overlooking the lake. Definitely recommended place. 15/02/2024: Una location semplicemente unica che offre piatti sensazionali. Per me la prima volta al Sole ma sicuramente la prima di una lunga serie. Credo che sulla sponda varesotta del lago maggiore sia il ristorante con più qualità. Già dal parcheggio si può capire la vista che offre e salendo la passeggiata anche dalla piscina o dalla terrazza ci si perde nel lago. Io ho scelto il menù fisso di San Valentino perché tutti i piatti erano intriganti. 4 portate e faccio fatica a scegliere quello che ho preferito. Forse il rombo, forse i tagliolini all’astice. Bevuto ottimo friulano. Servizio che completa il tutto con qualità. E il tutto per soli 70 euro. Bravi. Grazie per questa esperienza.

16/12/2023: Siamo recentemente stati al ristorante Il Sole di Ranco, ristorante che frequentavo con piacere molti anni fa quando era Ristorante del Buon Ricordo, per celebrare la laurea del figlio di nostri amici. Al nostro arrivo ci è stato offerto un aperitivo in terrazza, con una temperatura di 4°C appena mitigata da un unico braciere posto a terra, che prevedeva finger food: una listarella di pan brioche con formaggio, acciuga e un filo di erba cipollina (buono), un bocconcino di cipolla caramellata pessimo, molliccio e appiccicoso - ma il cameriere ci ha detto "Tranquilli, adesso vi diamo i tovagliolini" - e uno spiedino con gamberetto che però non ho potuto assaggiare, perché evidentemente non ne avevano fatti abbastanza per tutti. La cena prevedeva un carpaccio di pesce sottilissimo, trasparente e incollato al piatto, con una spuma al lime il cui gusto forte era troppo predominante sul pesce; un risotto con filetti di pesce persico: ben fatto il risotto, tre filettini di persico duri e stoppacciosi, annegati nel burro fuso che galleggiava sopra al risotto; e per finire una torta - molto buona - al gusto tiramisu, della consistenza di una bavarese. Il tutto innaffiato da un vermentino non degno di nota, che però ha avuto il pregio di farmi passare indenne l'alcoltest quando, tornando a casa, sono stato fermato dalla polizia locale: infatti ne avevo bevuto meno di mezzo bicchiere. In definitiva, una totale delusione: molto, ma molto peggio di come lo ricordavo: do due pallini, anziché uno, perché almeno il dolce era buono. Peccato.

02/04/2024: Pizzeria restaurant in the center of Sesto calende under the arcades. Good pizza, but the cover charge for a pizzeria for me is too expensive at €3 per person. Exaggerated.

17/09/2023: Ho festeggiato il mio compleanno ad inizio settembre. Eravamo 30 persone, è stato tutto eccellente. Il menù che ho scelto comprendeva dall'antipasto al secondo fino alla torta, siamo rimasti tutti soddisfatti, era tutto buonissimo. Il posto é bellissimo, con una vista sul lago di Lugano che é spettacolare. Personale gentile e disponibile. Un ringraziamento particolare ad Annalisa per l'organizzazione, è stata gentilissima e disponibile.

12/03/2024: I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Carillon. I had a problem with my car on a Sunday evening on my way through Italy to Germany, and not only was I able to get a room, with my dog, at a reasonable price at short notice, the entire staff was friendly and helpful, and one staff member M went so far above and beyond and helped me get to my car in another village. Had she not, I would have been stuck another night. The rooms are basic but serviceable. But the food! OH MY GOD! Heads above anything else I had my entire week in Germany. Breakfaat was SUPERB, with homemade bread and the best croissants I've ever had. The view from the hotel restaurant is SPECTACULAR. My time here turned a bad situation into a lovely 2 day vacation. I will be coming back here when the weather is warmer!

07/03/2024: Classic 80s restaurant. There is practically nothing fresh or seasonal on the menu (each ingredient is marked with an asterisk). Everything would need to be reviewed a bit, from the service to the cuisine. Unfortunately, the atmosphere also appears old and dated. It's already not pleasant to eat while looking at the state road, but even if the place isn't well looked after, in short, the imagination really fades away!

28/02/2024: Mi sono recato al ristorante alle 13.00 del 27.02.24 , ho suonato due vokte ma nessuno ha aperto nonostante i loro orari indicati sul loro sito lo davano come aperto

25/02/2024: Venerdì sera siamo tornati in questo ristorante dopo parecchi mesi dall’ultima volta e si è riconfermato degno di una piacevole serata in coppia. Non era strapieno quindi l’atmosfera era tranquilla, il rumore di fondo non disturbante. Abbiamo mangiato ottimamente, come sempre, apprezzando la bontà degli elementi presentati, la loro combinazione e la curata presentazione. Sempre apprezzata la gentilezza e la professionalità delle gerenti. Non economico ma il prezzo è adeguato alla qualità del cibo e alla presentazione dei piatti.
