05/02/2025: Absolutely delicious food. Ordered the lamb chop, ink tagliolino pasta and grilled mixer fish platter. The desserts (tiramisu and creme brulee) are amazing too. Recommend. Must visit.

23/10/2024: I didn’t even stay there because I was in another city. But they helped me and my wife find a taxi when we had problems with the boat. Overall, very kind staff in an excellent location.
14/10/2024: Stayed here to start our honeymoon (Sept 2019) and it was amazing. Such a memorable stay. Does anyone know if they sell the scent that permeates the hotel?

We organized a wedding and left happy.
11/11/2024: Villa Monastero was closed so we paid to visit the garden instead. It is a good photo spot and rest stop!

24/01/2025: Cogimos el ferry de Argegno a Varenna, que es bastante barato. Definitivamente necesito buenos zapatos para caminar como un montón de caminos irregulares. Solo un paisaje muy hermoso y tantos lugares agradables para almorzar. Pasamos 4-5 horas explorando. No te decepcionará Varenna.
20/10/2024: Esta fue la mejor comida que tuvimos en Italia! ¡Sus raviolis con salsa de crema de brócoli son exquisitos! El servicio es fabuloso! El restaurante es muy bonito y cómodo. Recomiendo encarecidamente esto!

11/11/2024: One of the only rooftop restaurants we could find in Varenna. While the atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Lake Como, the food came short. We weren’t impressed with the pastas, and we had ordered a bottle of hard cider that had gone bad. We did however enjoy the peaches and cream dessert. The servers were trying to rush us out as we were dining late, seemed to be a trend as most of Varenna closes down early.
02/11/2024: We were here for a baptism and we had a wonderful time, the service was perfect, the food was excellent and the view of the terrace was unique, a special mention for the delicious salmon

24/11/2024: Highly recommended place. Excellent tonnarelli carbonara and pizza of the day, fast service and lake view. Fair prices for the location, especially when compared to nearby places. If we are passing through we will return.

Impossible to sit down, plastic glass and out on the street after having paid €7 for each beer and without being able to enter the only bathroom because of the endless queue.

31/10/2023: Mi permetto un consiglio al proprietario: non sia così sgarbato nel rispondere alle recensioni che non condivide.
Ci siamo fermati per uno spuntino in attesa del traghetto. Anche un toast ben fatto merita apprezzamento. Servizio gentile e prezzi nella media del lago in un ambiente dal fascino di altri tempi.
05/08/2023: On découvre la cuisine de l'Italie du Nord au restaurant de l'hôtel Olivedo en terrasse au bord du lac. Assiette de dégustation (antipasto misto) : pâté de poissons des lacs, carpaccio de truite fumée, poissons des lacs marinés de deux façons, poisson séché et fumé sur polenta grillée, truite et lavaret (poisson du lac de Garde) en rouleau de poireau. C'est meilleur que la photo ne le laisse penser ! Accompagné d'un vin blanc monocépage Nebbiolo, Chiavennasca 2021 de Lombardie. En plat principal, un franc coup de ❤️ pour les ravioli maison de poissons du lac au beurre blanc et caviar de truite, un délice ! On termine par une Grappa di Sforzato, faite à partir de raisins de cépage Nebbiolo de la région voisine de Valtellina. Une cuisine très fine et un personnel au service sympathique, rapide et professionnel, toujours avec le sourire. Nous sommes venus quatre fois sur le séjour tellement l'endroit nous a plu. Le dernier soir, leur version du "fish and chips" : Sandre du lac de Côme en panure, mousse de pois, sauce tartare maison aux petits morceaux d'oignon cru et des frites délicieuses, c'est un belge qui vous le dit. Ce plat est excellent et d'une finesse surprenante. On clôture ce voyage avec une Grappa au miel en guise de dessert.
