05/11/2025: The lamb chops were sooo good!! The bread they served was also fresh and delicious — I especially loved the green one, maybe it had pistachio in it. I’ll definitely visit this restaurant again if I come back to Varenna!

17/10/2025: Incredibly nice and professional staff. Comfortable and spacious classic room. Loved that the Cipressi Gardens came with the room, as well as little touches throughout the stay (prosecco, candy). Wonderful!
22/09/2025: We didn’t stay at the hotel but had an amazing lunch while exploring Varenna, the food and the stuff are lovely and we enjoyed it a lot!!!

12/10/2025: The seafood pasta dish made me very sick that evening. This was the only thing I ate that day that my partner didn't, and she was fine.
If eating here, I would strongly advise that you avoid anything with seafood!
11/10/2025: AVOID - Food poisoning.
My partner got the seafood tagliatelle and he was severely ill and vomiting throughout the night. It can only have been this meal, as we shared the same meals earlier in the day and I was fine. Service and atmosphere were ok but not worth the risk. Would advise to avoid this restaurant.

Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant

30/10/2025: A very poor experience visiting the Hotel Villa Cipressi this afternoon. We wanted to pass through the hotel to see the view of the lake and the gates of heaven (it said it was open until 7pm on their website) and we were rudely told no. This was very dissapointing as we have crossed the lake to see this attraction.
29/10/2025: We were initially promised a larger room with a gallery (soppalco), but we received a standard room. The furnishings were meager, with few pieces, and everything was tasteless and eclectic. Lunch in the bar was of poor quality. The visitors to the botanical garden spoiled the experience: crowded, noisy, and hardly any peace and quiet.

19/09/2025: The food was MEH.. I ordered fish spaghetti and I was surprised it was only spaghetti with fish smell 😂 no real fish! Also the waiters are SUUUUUUPER RUDE SUPER SUPER RUDE more than waiters in France. It was the views for me honestly. Forgot to mention I had to order a pizza from another place coz I wasn’t full at all.
12/07/2025: Awful service, unhelpful staff, food extremely average, the chef claimed no bad reviews in 35 years, but Google speaks for itself.

14/09/2025: Had a great experience! Good food in an unbeatable atmosphere. I would improve the service though which was lacking for us. It was hard to get our server’s attention. The Ragu was good and so was the ravioli. The lamb chops were super tender and good. Ask of the good was great. You do pay extra for the view. They could get a perfect score with better service although it is still a great restaurant

Servizio pessimo prima ti fanno ordinare e poi fanno casino se non hai contanti e vuoi pagare con carta nel 2025 un bar in una stazione è vergognoso che non offre servizi se non paghi cash
26/06/2025: La comida terrible, el peor Melanzane que he visto, era diminuta y parecía que había estado en espera desde las 9 de la mañana, papilla seca y fría, 14. 50 euros por eso. La pizza estaba fría y he comido pizzas caseras más sabrosas al horno. La pizza cuesta 13 . 50 euros. Nos cobró 40 euros por la factura así que 12 euros de entrega. No te sientas tentado a pedir vino, son 30 euros la botella

Hotel Olivedo Restaurant

24/04/2025: Tenemos una mesa afuera en este hotel frente al lago ocupado antes de embarcarnos en un ferry. Teníamos una focaccia de jamón y queso que era de 7 €. 50 , con un café con leche a 3 € . 50 . Servicio bueno en este restaurante frente al puerto debajo de un encantador hotel antiguo.
