20/02/2026: I've rarely been treated so poorly in a restaurant. The food wasn't bad. The service was. Plates were slammed, comments (!) were made about uneaten appetizers, and one plate was left standing while clearing dishes. Main courses for different diners were served more than fifteen minutes apart.

30/01/2026: Friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere, a truly lovely restaurant, the owner and his wife are very kind, the price should be reviewed in my opinion a little high for what we ordered, however it was quite good.

13/03/2026: Bruschetta - a slice of oven-baked bread with diced tomatoes on top. It needed seasoning, but there was no rocket :-( The house wine was so-so.

13/03/2026: Mamma Mia is a two-faceted experience. The restaurant offers two distinct atmospheres: a casual veranda with placemats and a more classic interior with tablecloths. This writer was seated on the veranda twice. While the food is of good quality—as is the wine list—the overall experience suffers from some flaws, primarily management-related. The music, kept at medium-high volume, is intrusive and disrupts conversation. Furthermore, I found the wine by the glass decidedly disappointing, a stark contrast to the wide selection on the menu. Moving on to the dishes: the pumpkin gnocchi with parmesan fondue and speck were penalized by an excessive amount of pumpkin seeds; the thyme and lemon risotto, however, was well-balanced. The tasty beef tartare with quail egg and Dijon mustard ice cream deserves a special mention, while the zucchini carpaccio with lemon and ginger gel, pink peppercorns, and mint was completely negligible. The desserts were a sore point: the "Pistacchiamisù" was awful, with no coffee and biscuits so hard they almost required a chisel to break; the wafer with custard and strawberries was unremarkable. In short, an experience that made me exclaim 'Mamma Mia!', but unfortunately, not always for the right reasons.

09/03/2026: The food was fine but you can find better in Rome. What I and my friends were shocked about is the fact that the waiters there are too much high-nose. They behave as if you came there for free)

03/02/2026: We had a dinner reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early. We were asked to wait in the waiting room, which was fine, but what felt odd was that no one spoke to us, offered water, or acknowledged us at all until exactly 6:45 on the dot, when we were then escorted to our table. During that wait, we could clearly hear a senior staff member from the hotel on the phone discussing a guest complaint about housekeeping allegedly stealing or mishandling something. Not ideal to overhear as a guest, and it added to the slightly awkward first impression. Once seated in the restaurant, things improved. The service during dinner was good and and the mocktails were genuinely very tasty. The food itself was good and nicely presented, but not everything really stood out or surprised us. Small but notable detail: the lock on the women’s toilet is almost impossible to use if you have medium or long nails. Not a huge issue on its own but one of those things that adds a little extra friction to the overall experience. It was a fine experience, but slightly underwhelming. Good service at the table and solid dishes, but the hospitality didn’t fully live up to expectations. Probably a one time visit for us.

01/02/2026: A complete restaurant in every way. An enchanting location, an elegant and refined atmosphere, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail. The food is simply stellar: dishes crafted with great care and passion, offering the palate an authentic and memorable experience. But what truly makes this restaurant special is the human touch: a friendly, attentive, and sincere staff, and a chef who makes you feel at home, with a rare warmth, almost as if he's known you forever. A place that conquers the heart as well as the palate.

29/07/2025: Wonderful visit to Ristorante Cecilia Metella! Family friendly, family run, and homemade family quality. We highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant if you’re in the area, or walk across from the Catacombs di San Sebastien. Cross the road, head to right and up the driveway. The staff were super friendly and fun. I felt like my grandpa was serving us, with his grandpa humour. Couldn’t stop laughing at his grandpa jokes. The food was amazing. I feel like this was my most authentic Italian pasta and cuisine during our stay at Rome. We ate outside on the their terrace. There were lots of tables and couod get quite busy. However, our visit was just right in terms of noise from other tables. No need to shout, but still enjoyed the energy of the restaurant with families and friends enjoying lunch out on a Sunday.

13/07/2025: Il locale ha un’atmosfera accogliente e curata, perfetta sia per un caffè veloce che per una pausa più lunga a pranzo o a cena. Ai tavoli verrete assistiti da Andrea, un cameriere di rara professionalità e gentilezza. Con un sorriso sincero e una grande attenzione al cliente, è riuscito a rendere il nostro momento al tavolo ancora più piacevole. È raro trovare qualcuno così appassionato del proprio lavoro e capace di coniugare efficienza e calore umano. Il menù è vario e ben pensato, con proposte che uniscono tradizione e creatività. Ottimi anche i caffè e i dolci, perfetti per una pausa golosa. Fermento è sicuramente un posto in cui tornare. Consigliatissimo – e chiedete di Andrea!

06/07/2025: Comida fantástica, vino excelente, servicio atento, gran ambiente. Lo probé después de leer las otras críticas pero sin esperar mucho, el lugar es en realidad una joya inesperada. El camarero Andrea, muy amable y profesional, nos hizo sentir inmediatamente bienvenidos y a gusto. Seguimos sus sugerencias para la cena y disfrutamos de cada plato (desde una deliciosa burrata con aceitunas alici y tomates secos, unos tagliolini alle vongole maravillosamente sedosos y unos fettuccine al ragù di manzo tradicionalmente ricos) acompañados de un vino blanco delicado pero multidimensional. Delicioso tiramisú para cerrar una cena perfecta y de lo más agradable. Gracias, definitivamente volveremos.

02/03/2026: It's not the first time we've been to this place. But last dinner really amazed us. We ordered two appetizers and then a salt-cooked sea bass for two. When the sea bass was ready, the waiter showed it to us but then went off to clean it in the kitchen, and when he brought our plates, there were two tiny pieces of sea bass. There wasn't even the part with the large bones. As if they served us half the fish! In the end, when the bill arrived, the sea bass cost a whopping €90, too bad we ate it for €30. We left hungry! And €175 for two without wine! Never again!

16/02/2026: A seafood restaurant with a good selection of ingredients (medium and large sea fish); however, the cuisine leaves something to be desired, as the fish isn't always prepared to order. The first courses are the restaurant's signature dish; I recommend the spaghetti with sea urchins. The wine list is extensive, but the bottles are marked up higher than average. The atmosphere is traditional, but the downside is poor ventilation (the dining room has a strong fishy odor).

08/03/2026: This restaurant is very centrally located, yet still quite quiet, almost hidden in a small square behind Via Po. It has numerous spacious and well-spaced outdoor tables, and the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxing. The menu offers everything from meat to pizza, including all sorts of delicacies. We ordered the crispy fries, which were well worth it! The fried artichoke, not my favorite since the outer leaves were too thick for my taste, and two truly delicious pizzas! Expertly cooked and with top-quality ingredients. For dessert, we chose the Nutella "zoccolette" (small pastries), which were delicious! And a meringue with strawberries and cream, which wasn't particularly impressive in presentation but was good. The service is efficient and courteous, and the numerous waiters are quick and friendly. I'd definitely say come and try it (make a reservation!); I'll be back.

20/02/2026: Overall, it was a pretty good experience. The food was quite authentic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The seafood noodles and fried seafood were particularly well-prepared. I originally came specifically for the roasted veal knuckle, which was recommended on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), but unfortunately it was sold out that day, which was a bit of a disappointment. I ended up ordering a steak instead. The steak itself was quite good, but I have a small suggestion: because the restaurant has outdoor seating, it gets cold quickly in the wind, and the steak on the ceramic plate cooled down after only a few bites. I personally prefer the warmth of a hot plate; the steak definitely loses its appeal when it cools down. I hope the restaurant can consider keeping the tableware warm in the future, or perhaps increase the quantity of dishes available. Although I didn't get to eat what I really wanted this time, the service and taste were so good that I'd definitely come back next time to try the veal knuckle!

02/06/2025: Probably the best dinner we've ever had! We celebrated a couple anniversary in May. Very suprised by the amazing quality, freshness and textures of the food. The ambiance is like from fairytale - exterior and interior. We combined both. The service was impeccable - always present but not too intrusive. We had very nice, cozy talks, guys were just super polite and friendly, class. The Chef even proposed us wine for dessert and some suprise as a second dessert. After eating at NUMEROUS Michelin star restaurants, I must say this experience overcame them all not only relatively for the affordability but overally. Grazie Grazie Grazie !

08/02/2026: Terrible experience. The welcome was seriously deceiving: the restaurant was nice, the ambiance was refined, and the staff was almost friendly. We were fooled by the daily menu, thinking that, like everywhere else, it would have been the best choice. Frozen foods and spicy dishes not listed on the menu. To be completely honest, I should say that they didn't charge me for the spicy dish that wasn't listed on the menu. Needless to say, the quality/price ratio is unjustified.

19/03/2026: The place is very nice and the food is quite good. However, the main course arrived completely wrong for the entire table, clearly the fault of the person who took the order, with no intention of correcting it. In my opinion, the service was terrible and even very rude. We were very loyal customers, but after this mistake, I don't think we'll be back.

18/03/2026: Very nice place. The decor is thoughtful. The coffee was good. It's a shame about the orange juice, which for €4 was truly paltry. It was served in the same little glass they use for the splash of water they give with the coffee. The waitress noticed the glass was dirty and poured the juice into another glass. Too bad.
