03/07/2025: I stayed at the Ai Gelsi hotel for one night. The structure is not too pretentious, but the rooms are clean and overall tidy. The shower and hairdryer were quite dated and not very functional.
The staff at the reception were very kind, polite and professional, a good point in their favour.
The hotel restaurant offers good food, but unfortunately the service was disappointing: the waiters were slow and distracted, I had to wait a long time both to sit down and to order.
30/06/2025: from the photos I expected much better. honest price and friendly staff, but very dated structure. good cleaning. breakfast rather squalid, not worth the extra.

04/06/2025: I was there for a wedding, we ate a ton of appetizers and then dinner all based on fish, a heavenly experience..,....
I just have no idea how much a "normal" dinner would cost, but any amount is worth it in my opinion.

15/06/2025: Place to avoid. The staff stands out for their rudeness and total lack of professionalism. If you are a girl, prepare yourself to be treated with annoyance and impatience: the waitress seems more focused on feeling threatened than doing her job. I think that an adult woman who works in contact with the public should resolve her own insecurities rather than project them onto the customers. The owner is equally rude with offensive and unacceptable jokes. Mediocre dinner, €220 for four, an indecent experience. Never again.

The cost, for the type of food (standard sandwiches) and the quality offered, is too high.
Turning a blind eye to the service: unavailability of accounts divided into equal parts (I'm not talking about hoped-for counts, which I understand are a great nuisance, but only about dividing an account in two); an unavailability expressed with boredom and annoyance.

17/06/2025: My partner Antonella and I had dinner at this place, which we often frequent also for excellent aperitifs. Very suggestive location, just like being catapulted into a beautiful garden with fish and turtle tanks. There is also an outdoor pool that can be used in the summer months upon reservation.
Fantastic dinner with spaghetti with clams and lupins and a second course of sea bass with potatoes, truly quality. Perfect service with deboning of the fish at the table, all washed down with a wonderful Malvasia.
Excellent value for money

we arrived (2 persons) after hiking on Carso and were rejected with the excuse of being fully booked. After two minutes two elderly guests arrived (without previsouly booking the table) and got the table immediatly. Looks like sport outfit is not desirable in Silene.
Update:
Thank you for your response. I still have two questions:
1. Why did your waitress needed to check if you already knew that all the tables were already booked?
2. How come that when we told the two elderly persons that the restaurant is full they responded us "we will try" ?
