07/01/2026: I've been there a couple of times and it's never disappointed. Each time, the experience has been truly pleasant: the rustic and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home, with a warm, family atmosphere.
All the dishes we've tried have been excellent, authentic, and well-prepared, and the service is always friendly and attentive, with staff who know how to make you feel at ease.
In short, La Porta is a rustic, authentic, and high-quality restaurant, ideal if you want to enjoy traditional Abruzzo cuisine in a setting that truly makes you feel at home. Highly recommended, without hesitation. 🍝✨

04/01/2026: La Baita a Scanno is an excellent restaurant to stop at after a day spent in nature. Lunch was delicious and of high quality, featuring traditional local dishes. The arrosticini, in particular, were excellent: well-cooked, flavorful, and truly delicious.
The atmosphere is welcoming and the service courteous, making the experience pleasant and relaxing. It's a recommended place for anyone who wants to sample Abruzzo cuisine in a family atmosphere.

03/01/2026: I was here on December 3rd, following directions from the town center. I was pleased; the place is welcoming, simple, yet well-maintained. The waiters were truly kind and courteous. Our dishes were delicious (we had two first courses and two second courses with vegetables), and the prices were reasonable and inviting. It's precisely this approach that makes this restaurant its strong point. If you're staying in Scanno, it's worth a visit. Remember it for next time!

17/01/2026: We visited this restaurant during the Christmas period and also tried the lake fish. Everything was delicious and the service was fast.
10/01/2026: Chosen at random from those found on Maps, it turned out to be an excellent choice. The atmosphere is clean and quaint, the food is plentiful and high-quality, and the prices are fair for the quality.
Family-run, the staff are friendly; they even allowed our Chihuahua in and provided a water bowl.

07/01/2026: A characteristic mountain atmosphere. This refuge, featuring a fireplace at the entrance and a large dining room with tables, offers refreshments, including polenta and other dishes between snowshoe hikes.
I enjoyed an excellent hot punch at the end of the day.
I highly recommend it.
06/01/2026: A quaint, charming refuge with a welcoming fireplace. The veranda, all made of wood and stone, houses the dining area.
On busy days, they organize an efficient self-service restaurant with "social" tables (we also ate with another family, which was lovely).
The cuisine is traditional and good. Prices are fair (about €15-20 per person).
The bar also deserves a mention for its excellent hot chocolate, served with cream and biscuits, ideal for a cozy getaway, perhaps sitting by the fireplace.

16/11/2025: Today, where everything travels online, where destinations and places to stop for lunch or dinner are chosen, it's not possible to wait in front of this place waiting for it to open and find out it's closed for holidays, with no communication on the various social networks or most popular pages. I hope that improvements in this aspect can be considered.

19/10/2025: Small, family-run restaurant. A few dishes, but very good. Prices are slightly high but acceptable. They might be a bit of a problem if you have a dog and it's not very quiet.
19/10/2025: We discovered La Foce during a stroll through the heart of Scanno, and immediately felt at home. We tried the cazzellitti con le fuoja (a type of pasta) and the sagnette con i fagioli (a type of pasta with beans): extraordinary dishes, prepared with such care and love that you can taste in every bite. Everything is homemade and cooked to order, a true culinary experience!
The atmosphere is warm and familiar, the owners were extremely kind and welcomed us with great warmth. It's clear that a tradition is being carried on here with passion and dedication.
We were delighted and can't wait to return. A must-see for anyone visiting Scanno who wants to enjoy authentic local cuisine.

28/07/2025: Biscotti buoni anzi ottimi. Ci siamo fermati durante la passeggiata prima di cena e abbiamo acquistato dei biscotti con cioccolato veramente ottimi. Da non tralasciare durante una visita a Scanno.

10/09/2025: Central location in the charming village of Scanno. Very well-maintained rooms, bathroom a bit small, but that's all you can do in a historic building. The owner is super helpful, and I can confirm the excellent breakfast. The on-site parking is a great option.
29/08/2025: Alessandra's place is a little gem in the historic center of Scanno. She's a kind and discreet host. She's available for information and even for pleasant conversations. She even stepped in for an unexpected event. In Abruzzo, I've found a warm welcome, which Alessandra transmits to her guests, along with her love for her homeland.

05/01/2026: We would have liked to rate and review this restaurant for the food, but we weren't given the chance because there was a sign outside saying dogs were not allowed. Are these restrictions still in place in 2026? Considering that sometimes a child makes more of a racket than a dog dozing under the table. It's a shame, the food is certainly good, but we'll be left wondering.
05/01/2026: The meat was delicious, but the tomato in the first course wasn't good, and the wild boar sauce didn't taste like wild boar. The pavioli would have been amazing if only they'd been plain.

02/11/2025: I can't judge the quality of the food because I didn't eat. But the experience wasn't satisfactory. After the horseback ride, some of the group wanted to eat arrosticini, there were 10 of us in total. Only 4 of us ate. Only 4 people were seated; the rest were standing and had brought packed lunches since arrosticini weren't served. Those sitting at the table ordered arrosticini, beer, and a scamorza. The table wasn't set, and no glasses were brought. They were sitting on a picnic bench, but again, only 4 people were seated (also because only those 4 people could fit). A cover charge was charged for everyone. 6 people didn't use any service. The problem isn't the money; a 2 euro cover charge won't change anyone's life (we paid 20 euros cover charge, and 4 of us ate), but I don't think this is the right way to behave. Disappointing.
02/11/2025: We had a wonderful horseback ride with Gerardino, who made you feel at ease.
Wonderful family-run business, they manage to convey their passion for animals.
We'll definitely be back, great prices!
