27/07/2025: We spent a delightful day at this restaurant, thanks to the hospitality of the owner, Mrs. Irene, and Mr. Maurizio: kind, attentive, and attentive to our needs, as did the rest of the staff, who were equally attentive. The dishes we chose were truly excellent, prepared with high-quality products, combining tradition and innovation. What can we say about the wine? Choosing was difficult, as the selection was so varied and high-quality. Thanks to Mr. Maurizio, the owner, he recommended a delicious Cesanese. We were satisfied with everything and will definitely return.
We recommend it.
25/07/2025: We went for lunch on a Saturday and ate outside. Aside from the view, the food was spectacular... the polenta is exceptional, the gluten-free fettuccine with porcini mushrooms is TOP; the staff was incredibly kind, and the owners were very nice.
We returned, and I can confirm what I said previously: the food was excellent, and dogs are welcome. They even bring a bowl of water. I'll add some more photos I took recently... I highly recommend it. RATING 10!!

25/07/2025: If you want to eat a dish featuring top-quality local produce, served with kindness by young people, this is the place. We had gnocchi with venison ragù, spaghetti with bacon and pecorino cream, and they were excellent. We also ordered a half portion for our little one, and it was all delicious. We also had a mozzarella with seasonal vegetables. The young and polite people made us feel right at home. Thank you, and see you on your next mountain trip! Greetings from little Anna

17/06/2025: I rarely write a review but this time Davide and his restaurant deserve it. Exceptional food, from appetizer to dessert, I have rarely eaten so well. The service is equally exceptional with Davide who is an excellent host. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

21/07/2025: S.Jona. Borgo carino tra Avezzano e Ovindoli. Quì a S. Iona, vai sulla piazzetta centrale fai 50 metri a sinistra con l auto, parcheggi e trovi una Trattoria top, dove cibo è poesia. Degli gnocchi fatti in casa allo zafferano e pancetta, pasta al ragù, arrosticini e tanto altro, a livello tale,che poi devi tornare per assaggiare tutti i piatti proposti.
Porzioni abbondanti, per i normali mangiatori, si suggeriscono, più piatti e dividere le porzioni.Grande garbo, Trattoria come un tempo, spazio bimbi appena fuori, no problemi parcheggio. Prezzo correttissimo. Ambiente carino e brace pronta.
Insomma, una chicca. Volgere lo sguardò quì e non si resterà delusi.
26/04/2025: If you are looking for homemade food, excellent and plentiful, a familiar and simple environment, in the positive meaning of the term, efficient and kind service, a beautiful sensation of feeling at HOME....then you must go and eat in this restaurant! My husband and I went there twice in a few days and we tasted both the first courses and the meat, everything was really excellent!

23/02/2025: It's a very cozy retreat where you can have breakfast, a snack or lunch. After skiing, I stopped for a break and had a fruit tart with cream. It was super good, with fresh and genuine ingredients!
The environment is pleasant, perfect for relaxing and recharging your energy. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you are in the area, I recommend making a stop

22/08/2025: We came out of curiosity, and since there was no table at the restaurant, we decided to stop for some street food at the outside table. The choice was terrible. The welcome was nonexistent, the service was poor, and the dishes were of poor quality and refinement. We chose: a mixed raw fish platter with two shrimp, two slices of tuna, and a mini salmon tartare; a marinated white cod that was floating in the sauce and tasted only of spices and chili pepper; and stuffed calamari whose flavor was indecipherable. The only dish I'd give a passing grade were the stuffed mussels "drowned" in a rather delicious tomato sauce.
Poor value for money. We won't be returning.
22/08/2025: Unfortunately, we asked several times if the air conditioning could be turned down (it was 25 degrees outside and probably much cooler inside).
The cashier was wearing a vest to protect her from the cold.
A little more attention to these things would make the dinner more enjoyable.
The food was good.
The service was passable.

19/05/2025: Restaurant with a beautiful view of Celano and Fucino.
We went for lunch, we didn't take pictures but we tasted: appetizers of cold cuts, cheeses, mixed bruschetta (the one with tomato is crazy🤤) we also tasted the gnocchi with deer ragù as a first course, with home-made flavors. Then we ordered mixed grill, generous portion, scottona steak (absolutely tender), Tagliata with rocket, pachino and parmesan, and chicken with citrus fruits. All the dishes were abundant and tasty.
As for desserts: chocolate cake, berry cake and a tiramisu made for Narcisia of infinite goodness.
The prices are good, if you compare them with the quantity and quality.
A place to definitely return.

30/06/2025: I'm sorry to have to criticize, but I was really disappointed by the lunch on Saturday 28 June 25.
I had a plate of gnocchi, which they assured me were homemade, but they weren't.
They were gnocchi made with the machine, all the same shape and same cut, they looked like smooth pennette but they had nothing of the gnocchi not even the taste of gnocchi.
While the 2 sausages that on the menu said "Homemade roast sausages", but they were not at all, definitely bought at the supermarket, but still industrial.
I also saw the same gnocchi in some other restaurant in Ovindoli.
Make the gnocchi by hand but homemade

13/02/2025: Frequento questo posto da 30 anni e fortunatamente non ha deluso i miei ricordi, anzi. La recente ristrutturazione gli ha dato pregio, sembra di stare in un'elegante baita tirolese! Ottimi la polenta con salsicce e spuntature, i ravioli ricotta e spinaci e gli gnocchetti al ragù, buoni e ben cotti gli arrosticini. Prezzi onesti e servizio veloce e cortese. Una garanzia.
24/01/2025: Locale piccola ma grazioso, menu tipico, semplice e variegato: selvaggina ottima così come i formaggi e le loro salsine di accompagnamento; i primi non da meno, super abbondanti e conditi. Nota ancor più positiva e l’ottima musica di sottofondo. Unica pecca consiglierei ai camerieri di fare un sorriso in più, che è il miglior condimento!

05/08/2025: The ambiance is simple yet refined. Excellent food and above-average portions. Friendly service. The vegetarian lasagna is a must, still made according to the old-fashioned methods, rich and flavorful. But everything else is superb.
03/08/2025: Unfortunately, I have to give a very poor rating, especially for the service. We arrived at opening time (12:30) and the bathrooms were dirty (one out of two was working). In my opinion, when a restaurant opens, you can't find the bathrooms in that condition. In addition to this, the service was terrible. We ordered starters, two samples of first courses and two mixed roasts, the latter of which arrived after 2pm. I don't like rushing things for people who are working, but I don't want to receive rude responses from the restaurant owner. I don't think I'll go back again!

06/07/2025: Ci troviamo per caso domenica 6 luglio 2025: il ristorante è abbastanza pieno, una ragazza e un signore si aggirano tra i tavoli, ma l’attesa è abbastanza lunga. Ordiniamo un tagliere di selvaggina e uno di carpaccio, poi dei maltagliati con ragù e zucchine e zafferano e due contorni, cicoria e verdura grigliata.
Il tagliere era davvero imbarazzante (aveva un accenno di tartufo sulla mortadella - di maiale- che sapeva di nulla. Il resto con salame e n.1 mini salsiccetta di cinghiale (?) con qualche fetta di qualcosa affumicato. Il primo ancor più’ imbarazzante, i maltagliati salatissimi con un ragù bianco e di zucchine forse l’idea, mette lo zafferano rimasto nelle parole della cameriera…tra l’altro cotti molto male. Finiamo con la cicoria che dava sull’acido. Il Tutto ben pagato. La domenica è la vostra vetrina, cari ristoratori, non accampate scuse che ci sono troppi clienti! Essere bravi il martedì è facile… cambiate mestiere altrimenti.
22/03/2025: Locale disposto su più piani collegati da una bella scala interna. Tavoli e arredamenti essenziali, puliti, moderni.
