03/03/2026: Excellent pizzeria. You can tell the dough is homemade, with the yeast left to develop properly. Parking can be a bit tricky if you arrive late. I recommend making a reservation.

19/10/2025: A small seafood restaurant in a beach resort. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, using a simple method to enhance rather than overwhelm the freshness of the fish—sea bream in our case. The chitarra alle vongole was cooked beautifully al dente. The dish was truly traditional and delicious, thanks to a very flavorful sauce, and I chose to accompany it with a pleasant local Cococciola. The staff, truly exquisitely courteous, had butter gnocchi made on the spot (I know, butter doesn't sound right!) for our little girl. Despite the price of the dish itself, they were very good. Even the fries, which I usually don't eat and only taste in passing, were quite good for the other kids. The waitresses, as already mentioned, were truly kind, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. The manager was also truly friendly and courteous. For anyone passing through Ortona and enjoying fish and seafood, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal at Doppia Vela.

The desserts deserve special mention: homemade, meticulously prepared, and amazing! A place I'd love to return to and one I recommend without hesitation.

10/01/2026: Il Gambero is an excellent restaurant in Ortona. We ate very well, with carefully prepared, high-quality dishes. The wide selection of local wines is also excellent, perfect to accompany the menu. Recommended for those looking for good food and a nice selection of local wines.

22/02/2026: The only saving grace was the friendly owner. Everything else was awful; the arrosticini were average, nothing special. The salad was clearly bagged and at least three weeks old. The place was freezing cold and very rustic, but very nice. I paid €45 for two without eating anything.

The cuisine was traditional, and everything was delicious, prepared with quality ingredients. The owner was very kind and attentive to customer service and requests. We'll be back during our summer holidays. If you're looking for traditional food, I highly recommend it.

A little place not far from the center of Ortona where you can enjoy grilled meat, appetizers, and especially the "rustell"... A little place where the welcome, kindness, and service are the flagships, but also the reasonable and affordable price... So what are you waiting for? You absolutely have to try it... I highly recommend it!!! Oh, I forgot, you can also order takeout. I had a fantastic experience, no lines, even though the place was packed. They immediately accommodated me, fast service, and super delicious food... And the price? Well, seeing is believing... As they say in Abruzzo, "Mo schiatt"... I ate to death!!!
