14/08/2025: Never eaten such good dough, exceptional pizza 💯

12/08/2025: We stumbled upon this place somewhat by chance and were very hungry. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. He recommended some traditional Abruzzo dishes that we found delicious, especially the mutton stew. The pasta and pizza were also excellent. Highly recommended, and we'll be back!

27/08/2025: Good evening... The place was full without a reservation. The owner greeted us and told us we could wait around 9:00 PM. He would have accommodated us... While we waited, he immediately offered us two proseccos. He recommended a nice walk to the lighthouse with a view of Ortona... When we returned, we were seated... basically, the food was more than excellent, the service was fast, precise, and dynamic... Run by young people with a keen eye, which nowadays can be counted on one hand... What can I say? An excellent experience. I definitely recommend it and... I'll be back as soon as possible. Excellent value for money. Thanks again to our new friend, the owner, whose name I don't remember... Greetings from just anyone in Milan...

27/08/2025: A fantastic experience at this restaurant. Minimalist decor but a beautiful view directly overlooking the sea and the harbor. Excellent food, especially the fried calamari, truly special. Highly recommended!!!

29/08/2025: A dinner that was nothing short of spectacular! An incredible seafood dinner. We found this place among the gluten-free options in the area, and we never expected such attention and organization, even down to the smallest details. The staff was attentive and friendly from the start. We had two medium-large dogs with us, and they were welcomed into the establishment. The waiter explained the gluten-free options, including homemade pasta, fried fish, and artisanal desserts. A dream for a celiac on vacation. The taste experience exceeded our expectations. A place we absolutely recommend and will return to soon.

09/07/2025: Finalmente un gelato di qualità, ho potuto degustare il gelato di crema antica con babà e visciole superlativo! A differenza delle gelaterie classiche dove sono solo i colori a fare da padrone per invogliare le persone a scegliere, qui c’è ancora il vecchio carretto dei gelati , dove c’è solo la qualità a farla da padrone! Se passate ad Ortona questa è una tappa obbligata! Complimenti ancora !

28/06/2025: The best ice cream shop in Ortona and one of my favorites in general! I tried the pistachio, ricotta and scrucchiata and Petralia salt caramel with praline peanut flavors, all superb! Never tried such a creaminess and flavor! The Sicilian granita is out of this world!! Very honest prices! New flavors that I fell in love with: sweet pizza and yogurt 💖

04/08/2025: Review of Osteria del Castello – Ortona The first time we went to Osteria del Castello was on the recommendation of some friends: as always, recommendations are always a bit risky... but we were pleasantly surprised! We were a group of friends and colleagues, and the experience was excellent in every way. The service was impeccable, with friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent, with authentic flavors and careful attention to detail. We were also impressed by the location, especially the outdoor space, truly pleasant for an al fresco dinner. We had such a great time that we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

17/08/2025: Wonderful place, no frills, it's like having lunch at grandma's house. Limited selection, but everything is high-quality. The cuisine is simple, but good and genuine. I'd go back every Sunday. The arrosticini appetizer and peppers are wonderful.

17/08/2025: A genuine experience, in a very pleasant location, sitting under the trees, they serve trays of juicy arrosticini, including liver (unfortunately, we didn't find any 🥹), three or four vegetables, and house wine. To finish, the owner Nino offered us a plate of fresh figs!

12/08/2025: Our first experience at the trabucco was wonderful, but my daughter had already been there twice, so we went for sure. It was a wonderful experience, an excellent gastronomic journey. They bring the dishes slowly, so you can fully enjoy them. The waiter describes the dish perfectly, and it's perfectly composed. The atmosphere is wonderful, breezy and shaded. The service is excellent, as is the open kitchen, spotlessly clean, and the professionalism and harmony between them all. It's an experience we'll repeat, but highly recommended to anyone looking for a unique experience. They also offer gluten-free options. Thank you, you made our afternoon a wonderful one. 29/08/2025: We found ourselves at this restaurant because it was on the way back from a vacation in Abruzzo. What can I say? A terrible place with equally terrible staff! We waited over half an hour (us and four other tables, one of which had decided to leave in the meantime) just for some water and a menu! Meanwhile, we were all entertained by the shouts, curses, and swear words of the person who supposedly was the owner, who was communicating with the kitchen staff in this manner! We, sitting outside near the kitchen, could hear everything. Only after about an hour did the man appear at the tables to take orders... so to speak! Since in the end, we all ended up eating only fries and arrosticini (luckily delicious!), because no one dared order anything else, given the current situation! For my son, I had asked for a simple plate of rigatoni with fresh tomato: after waiting half an hour, the pasta arrived, but the wrong dish, and another wait...for rigatoni with sauce. Oh well! I've summed up in a few lines two hours of pure madness, culminating in laughter at the tables, because we really didn't know whether to laugh or cry! That's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1!

27/08/2025: My apologies to the owner for not giving it 5 stars, but I still had a great time. 🫠 The lamb was probably the best I've ever eaten, the arrosticini were excellent, and it was a truly fun evening thanks to the owner, who's as crazy as a horse and makes your evening even more enjoyable. If you're bothered by a bit of noise, don't eat there, but if you want good food, local specialties, and a truly unique evening... You shouldn't miss stopping by. Ciao and thanks for the tomato sauce.

02/09/2025: A restaurant with excellent value for money, considering the fish dishes. Everything was excellent, especially the raw fish, which was paired with flavors that were at times unusual but perfectly executed. Friendliness matched the quality. I would gladly return.

24/07/2025: Ristorantino, letteralmente, sul mare. Molto adatto per coppie, specialmente se richiedete con anticipo il tavolo con baldacchino in riva (senza costi in più, ho chiesto dato che ero curioso). Ho preso come antipasto due gamberi rossi che, oltre ad essere super freschi, avevano una salsa agli agrumi impeccabile. Come primo invece un tripudio di scampi con le linguine dove ho dovuto fare la scarpetta. Personale professionale e preparato, un ringraziamento particolare a Sara che, nonostante fossi da solo, mi ha trattato come un cliente di prim'ordine. SUPER CONSIGLIATO!

24/07/2025: Piacevolissima serata sia per la cena che per la location con vista mare. Da sottolineare non solo la qualità del cibo e la cura dei dettagli nell’arredamento, ma anche l’attenzione del personale e l’accoglienza della titolare.

02/08/2025: Passing through Ortona, we dined at this trattoria, which we stumbled upon while strolling. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We started with mixed seafood bruschetta, followed by seafood spaghetti alla chitarra with calamari, shellfish, and cherry tomatoes, a chitarrina pasta with clams and bottarga, and, for the main course, an excellent fish broth and crostoni. All washed down with a lovely Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo rosé. A delicious dinner featuring fresh seafood.
