Very fresh dishes and honest prices

Lido Eldorado offers, essentially, authentic cuisine, featuring fresh catch of the day and other delicious dishes. While part of Ortona's culinary tradition, they are enriched with unique touches of flavor and creativity. I've been there three times: the first time, on a weekday, we enjoyed excellent stewed baby octopus and a chitarrina pasta with clams and lemon zest; the second time, also on a weekday, we had excellent cod with roasted peppers and potatoes, mixed fried fish, and baked sea bream from the catch of the day, served with artichokes and roasted peppers—all delicious. Both times, the portions were more than adequate, so we found the value for money to be very good. But yesterday, a holiday, despite having booked, the restaurant was fully booked, and we immediately noticed that the staff was struggling: a mistake had been made in reserving dishes, not just for us, but also for neighboring tables. The dishes, some of which were the same as those ordered on previous occasions, were inadequate in taste, quantity, and quality. We were disappointed and reported this, not to get the small discount the manager wanted to give us, but to encourage them to improve the cuisine and service even when they're fully booked. So I'm amending my previous review to urge caution.

I visited this beach resort on a warm Sunday in May, located right on Ortona's tourist harbor. With the umbrellas still being set up, the sea view was truly priceless. The menu offers limited choices, but these days that's certainly a plus: fewer dishes are better, but fresh and carefully prepared. Everything was truly delicious, compliments to the kitchen. I chose fried octopus with caramelized onion and fried calamari. There were nine of us, and we were all served promptly. The only downside was the service from one waitress (whose name I don't know), who seemed annoyed at every request and exhibited unprofessional behavior. In front of a customer, in my opinion, certain things shouldn't happen. That said, it didn't ruin a beautiful day at the beach.

While on vacation in the beautiful center of Ortona, we discovered this delightful seaside Lido Ristorante... excellent, quality food, very friendly service... on a beautiful beach...

This is my second time here, and it fully confirms the excellent impression I made the first time. We ordered anchovy, burrata, red onion, and lime crostini, along with cuttlefish, potatoes, and peas—truly mouth-watering. Then came the chitarra pasta with clams and the catch of the day served with baked potatoes, peppers, and chard. Everything was truly delicious. The house Cerasuolo wine was good. The service was friendly and efficient. A 5-star experience!

While passing through Abruzzo on a short vacation, we had lunch at this seaside restaurant: a pleasant surprise. A few expertly prepared seafood dishes. Recommended by Francesca, the charming and friendly owner, we had fried octopus and anchovy crostini as an appetizer...fantastic and beautifully presented. The calamarata pasta with octopus and grilled sea bass caught that day, accompanied by excellent side dishes, were also excellent. The restaurant is informal but very comfortable. Excellent value for money. If we return to the area, it will definitely be a stop. Highly recommended!

I was looking for a relaxing place with a sea view, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent, unique food. Every time I went, I found new and different dishes. The staff was friendly and very kind; it exceeded my expectations. I absolutely recommend it.
