They welcomed us very well and were present and attentive in fulfilling our requests. The proposals are not very many, but this is an indication of the care in preparing the food which is truly excellent. A place to try if you have not been there yet

27/05/2025: My dinner at the Guallina restaurant was a real discovery, a journey through elegant and well-balanced flavors. From the moment I entered, the warm and refined atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel welcomed, while the staff - kind and competent - made the experience even more pleasant. As an appetizer I chose the goose liver paté with croutons: an intense and refined dish, perfectly balanced in flavors. The creaminess of the paté married perfectly with the crunchiness of the croutons, giving a truly tasty start to the meal. Next, the rice with bay leaves and Breme onion: a surprising and delicate combination. The scent of the bay leaves and the sweetness of the onion created a unique harmony, enhancing the rice without overpowering its simplicity. A dish that shows great attention to raw materials and technique. In short, Guallina is a restaurant that combines tradition and creativity with great elegance. Recommended for those looking for sincere, well-executed and exciting cuisine. I will definitely be back!

03/05/2025: Excellent trattoria, simple and classic style but clean and sober. We ate everything based on goose. Starter of goose cured meats and really excellent pate, especially the latter (usually it seems cloying to me), followed by ravioli with goose meat in butter (I also tried the cannelloni with asparagus, this dish is also really tasty and worth a try!) and for the second course...baked goose for the whole table with baked potatoes! the meat was really tasty and tender, spectacular. The entire meal was accompanied by a good Buttafuoco red wine, the list of wines available is really long and varied, the bitters and grappas available at the end of the meal are also extensive. It's really worth it!

10/06/2025: I went there for lunch. Since it was a weekday and there were not many customers, I was shown to a nice seat with a good view of the restaurant's garden. The food was very delicious and worth more than the price. It was the most impressive meal of my trip to Italy. I would like to try the other dishes that I didn't try this time someday. The staff were polite and didn't have any problems at all. It was a wonderful experience.

15/07/2025: I booked dinner and an overnight stay for my partner's birthday, and she stayed—in fact, we were delighted. The place is special, seemingly frozen in time, with ivy everywhere, a quiet courtyard filled with plants and aromatic herbs. The rooms are furnished with a beautiful mix of vintage and modern pieces, simply yet functionally. Dinner was perfect; it's cool here even on a July evening; the atmosphere is quiet, suitable for couples of all ages. The service was friendly and pleasant, with reasonable waiting times; everything was vegan, tasty, and original, right down to the dessert. After the night, another beautiful moment of timeless relaxation awaited us with breakfast under the pergola, featuring fresh homemade products, including the fantastic baked cherries and apple pancakes. Thank you, Davide and Maria, for your hospitality and kindness!

15/07/2025: The food, atmosphere, and people are extraordinary. Spending time at this wonderful inn feels like a haven of peace, a place to rejuvenate both mind and body. The inn's owners are incredibly kind and gentle, and they have a natural ability to make their hosts feel at ease. The food is simply extraordinary: spending a night at the inn, I dined outside in the garden, immersed in a relaxed atmosphere, transported by exquisite dishes, full of sophisticated flavors and always prepared with love and passion. The room I stayed in was very welcoming, clean, cool, and quiet (a dream for someone from the city like me). In the morning, when I woke up, I was also lucky enough to try their exceptional breakfast: many exquisite homemade desserts (from cakes to brioches and pancakes), accompanied by coffee and other delicious beverages. It was a rejuvenating experience in every way. Thanks again, see you next time!

30/05/2025: It was a wonderful surprise, and exceeded my expectations. I wanted to organize a romantic and relaxing week, and I couldn't have made a better choice. Very well-kept castle, with beautiful gardens and an indoor pool. Quiet place, close to the beauties of the Oltrepo Pavese, equipped with a restaurant/bistro with excellent cuisine, it is a perfect place to regenerate. Adequate prices, abundant and quality breakfast,.

09/07/2025: Authentic Local Food – A Hidden Gem! By coincidence, we stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to Spluga Adventure Park — and ended up having one of the best meals we've had in Italy so far. The prices were unbeatable, and every dish was exceptional. The pizzoccheri was rich and flavorful, the raviolo delicate and refined, and the meat was tender and delicious. The dessert was also outstanding! The service was friendly, and they even spoke English. Portions were generous — you get as much as you're up for! Thank you for an unforgettable food experience!
