19/06/2025: We first visited Osteria Alberto in 2024 to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was already a special culinary experience. This year we went again! This time on foot: a varied walk from Villagio Ollandese via Roggiano. Once again, we were able to enjoy fine dining of the highest standard, just like last year. A shady spot on the terrace and quiet, courteous, and warm service rounded off the sunny day. If possible, we'll definitely be back in 2026.
13/06/2025: We visited Alberto's several times; from the welcome to the dessert to the espresso, everything was just perfect. The location is absolutely beautiful, nestled between the mountains. Sitting on the balcony in the warm summer air and listening to the chirping of crickets is simply wonderful. In addition to the fantastic steak, this time we had leg of goat with polenta and asparagus; it was a delight. The service is super friendly, and English is spoken. We absolutely love our stay here and would happily recommend the high-quality food, the passionate service, and the restaurant's beautiful ambiance. We can also highly recommend the wine advice and the regional wines! The prices are absolutely fair. Thank you for this wonderful restaurant!

30/05/2025: Beware of fraud!
We made a reservation at the restaurant to have a good meal. The food was excellent and the taste was top-notch! We can't complain at all.
Unfortunately, the surroundings weren't great. They tried to scam us. We asked if there was parking available for visitors/guests of the restaurant. There was, and we parked our car there. On the bill for the meal, we saw that €15 had been charged for parking. However, the parking lot sign stated in Italian that the parking space was reserved for guests (see photo I uploaded).
After discussing this with the waiter, who then asked the manager, I also asked the other guests around us if they had to pay for parking. They all said no, because the parking space was reserved for guests. Only we were charged the €15. After back and forth and discussion, the €15 was removed from the bill, and we paid and left.
Upstairs at the exit, the manager (his name is Silvio Battistoni) came towards us and cursed and insulted us. We tried calmly to explain that it was unfair why we had to pay for parking while all the other guests didn't. He simply said that everyone had to pay and that we should just ask the others. I told him that I had actually done that, and the answer was that they didn't have to pay. He got angry and didn't know what to say and just said that because we had a "supercar," we should pay the price. If we had the money for a "supercar," then we had to pay the €15. We tried to explain that it wasn't about the money, but that they were trying to rip us off. Why didn't everyone else have to pay and only we did because we had a "supercar" (his words)?
He threw us out and slammed the door.
Unfortunately, a very unpleasant experience. Because the food and the atmosphere were top-notch! It was really great. But having to try to cheat someone out of €15 while all the other guests don't have to pay is a real shame.
04/05/2025: Ci saremmo aspettati qualcosa di meglio, partendo dalla location ferma a trent’anni fa, servizio decisamente non perfetto e non al livello in cui si vogliono piazzare, cucina anonima, semplice, nulla che abbia quel qualcosa in più… unica nota positiva gli entreè e il dolce. A Varese ci sono altri ristoranti dove mangiare meglio.

30/06/2025: Spectacular risotto! I'm back again and I confirm and add, kindness and excellent value for money!
14/06/2025: I would first like to highlight some of the features that make this restaurant excellent.
1) both in the kitchen and in the dining room there is young staff, very prepared and motivated to do their job well.
2) the dining room is furnished in an elegant but sober way. You can talk well, there is enough space for the service, the aesthetic choices are nice.
3) the raw materials used in the kitchen are of excellent quality.
4) on the menu you can choose between four appetizers, four first courses, four second courses and three desserts. the choice is more than sufficient and is synonymous with the quality of the dishes that are offered.
That said, we were able to taste the egg tagliolini with egg cream, parmesan and black truffle, the cannellini puree with squid, so soft that they crumble in the mouth, the boiled seafood, sublime in its simplicity, the marinated cod, decidedly tasty, also combined with wholemeal bread.
The choice of spirits and coffees is particular and wide.
If I had to give a single small suggestion for improvement, I would try to review the wine list, both in terms of the number of labels and the explanation of the grape varieties.
But this is little compared to the excellence of the rest. Well done!!!

Ideal for business lunches but also lunches or dinners with family and friends.
17/06/2025: Came to eat lunch there. Had to wait long for the waiter, but when the order was made, the food came quite quickly. It was not so tasty as we expected, but the quality was good. Potato chips (served with shabu shabu) were especially disappointing. Nice with the compliment from the chef, it was the most delicious thing we ate there.

01/07/2025: Located in the center of Comerio, historic place, exquisite food with generous portions, the service was excellent they suggest the wine for each dish, they are not intrusive and the dessert was excellent, the mango panna cotta to remember. We will definitely return and I recommend it.

04/07/2025: Beautiful view of the lake. The rooms are clean and spacious. The service was very friendly, and the breakfast was also decent. We were very satisfied and had a wonderful time there. Staying with our dog was also no problem.

with generous furnishings and spaces. Restaurant with a good number of seats but not crowded, it is not clear why the attention of the staff is so unresponsive.
I am certainly not in a hurry, but drinking on a particularly hot evening must be immediate and not prompted.
Excellent presentation of the dishes, the menu should be expanded and enriched with courses
with more personality and territorial attention.
If a diner has not consumed a course at all, it must be spontaneous to ask yourself the reason, taking it away without saying a word, is not a good sign of attention.
The subsequent courses were appreciated, the bill absolutely in line with the offer.
In my opinion, given the potential of the location, an upgrade in service and culinary refinement, would make you willingly spend even a higher amount.

26/06/2025: Typical family-run restaurant, discreet, courteous and never intrusive staff, you find yourself in a friendly environment as you would no longer expect to find it given the times we live in. Excellent choice of appetizers, superlative first courses, a risotto with porcini mushrooms followed by a very tasty sliced beef always with porcini mushrooms. Definitely one of the places that remain in the memory and that I will definitely return to visit. Thanks for the lovely evening

I didn't try it for dinner, but given the lunch, we won't try it.
(We had lunch at this restaurant, being in Saronno for work, on Wednesday, June 18th)
