06/06/2026: These days, it seems less like a restaurant than a race to find the excuse of the day not to accept meal vouchers. One time the machine doesn't work, the next the system is out of service, then the terminal isn't there, or some other mysterious technical problem arises. An occasional glitch can happen to anyone. But when it happens every time, it feels like there's no desire to accept meal vouchers, even though they're listed as a payment method. The problem isn't so much the refusal, but rather the lack of transparency. It would be much more correct and professional to clearly state that they won't accept them, rather than inventing a different excuse every time when the bill arrives. It's a shame, because customer trust is lost much faster than it's gained.

24/05/2026: Dinner with friends. I order a small Capricciosa. I get a tiny pizza. I pay full price. Embarrassing... Awful, poorly maintained place. It was empty, for some reason. Simple pizza, tasteless dough. They could do much better.

04/06/2026: We've already been to Waldea (formerly Waldschänke) four times this year and left delighted every time. The quality of the food is consistently excellent. We can wholeheartedly recommend the carpaccio and the dumpling duo – both were delicious and beautifully presented. But what truly makes Waldea special for us is the warm hospitality. The waiters and managers are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and always in good spirits. You feel welcome and well taken care of from the very first moment. We're already looking forward to our next visit and can recommend Waldea to anyone who appreciates good food, a beautiful atmosphere, and genuine South Tyrolean hospitality.

01/06/2026: The location is almost unique. A stunning view over Merano and the surrounding mountains. The food was superb. Excellent South Tyrolean cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to take a break on the Marlinger Forest Trail. Of course, they also offer coffee and sweets.

03/05/2026: Never again. Every time we decide to go back, we regret it. Endless wait. Disorganization and carelessness. We just ordered two takeout pizzas, got home, opened the pizzas ready to eat, and found ourselves with the wrong ones. I'm sorry, but I repeat, never again.

16/10/2025: We came here for breakfast and it was simply fantastic! A very nice bakery, very stylish and harmoniously decorated, as it's also a small café. The waitresses are both very friendly and patient, especially when you're a bit lost in the hustle and bustle. The rolls taste excellent, and the orange juice is truly freshly squeezed. It's like biting right into the fruit. If we could give it more stars, we would.

04/06/2026: I give one star for customer service. I waited over 30 minutes and not a single waiter came to take my order, while other tables who arrived after me were served first. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

06/06/2026: I'm from Poland, I visit Italy four times a year, and I've never had spaetzle from Speck like that in my life. The sauce is something I've remembered for years! If you, the gentleman from Macedonia, are still running this, I salute you and congratulate you.

19/05/2026: The hotel is located directly on the Via Claudia Augusta. Since it's set back slightly from the main road, it's quite quiet, yet still centrally located. There's ample parking on site. We were traveling by bike and were able to store them in a large, lockable garage. We had a triple room with a balcony. The room and balcony were very spacious. For dinner, we went to the restaurant just a few meters away. It was also a great place. Breakfast had everything you could want, although I personally missed German cuisine (especially good quality bread). Nevertheless, I would book it again anytime.

07/04/2026: Although the bar was under renovation, the staff went out of their way to make our short stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean, the room large and beautiful, with a lovely, quiet balcony thanks to its convenient location set back from the road. The breakfast was varied and plentiful.

16/05/2026: A great restaurant. The food is of very high quality, which of course comes at a price, but is definitely worth it. It's a shame the service doesn't live up to the quality of the food. Friendliness isn't included in the price. I had a wine that was probably oxidized and tasted flat. The server (the owner?) didn't know how to handle the feedback constructively; she was rather snide and rude. I think there's room for improvement in how they treat guests. Hence, 2 stars.

07/12/2025: The attention to detail is evident both on the plate and throughout the entire restaurant. Surprising flavor combinations that never overwhelm, but always delight. You simply must try the Tiramisu alla Samuel. And the rest, too… I won't reveal any more. Bravo and thank you!
