01/09/2025: ✨ A Hidden Gem – Café Marilu ✨ We happened to pass by the sweetest lady, Marilu, who runs her own little place with both a gelateria and top-quality espresso. We were immediately drawn in by the amazing aroma and taste. The espresso is absolutely perfect – just as it should be in Italy – and the gelato… well, it was so good that we simply had to get another. Everything is homemade from scratch, and you can truly taste the quality. The quality is outstanding, the prices are very fair, and you can feel the love and passion Marilu puts into her place and the dolce. Marilu runs the café herself together with her two daughters, and her warmth and charm make the experience even more special. For the gelato, we especially recommend the pistachio, almond, and tiramisu – but honestly, every flavor is soft, creamy, and full of taste. We’re from Copenhagen and are deeply impressed by the incredibly high quality. If you have the time and opportunity, stop by, say hello to Marilu – you won’t regret it! Who knows, maybe next year she’ll even have a pistachio farm – and if so, we’ll definitely be back to taste even more. 🌿🍨☕

21/08/2025: If gelato here is a journey of pleasure, the granitas are a leap into heaven. Fresh, intense, and unforgettable: tonight I was so enthralled that for the first time in my life, I had two in a row. Mincuccio is a guarantee, a surefire way to impress friends, family, and so on. I can't help but return!

20/09/2025: The setting is immersed in a wonderful area...dinner was eaten in the garden of the property, the food was delicious and the waiter was excellently polite and professional.

16/09/2025: Fixed-price menu for €40 per person. A generous and delicious round of appetizers will fill you up. Two very good first courses. The grilled meat was decent. Dessert was a complete flop; a simple tart (as stated on the menu) would have been better than that inedible (and commercial, I'd say) panna cotta. Eating outside in the olive grove was wonderful. It's a shame about the rude customers who smoke while eating; it would be polite for the staff to prohibit smoking while people are dining. The service is very informal; no one explains what they're bringing you or what you're eating.

16/11/2025: Celebrated a birthday, enjoyed a tasting of appetizers and a pizza tour, excellent quality. The staff were friendly and responsive, although the service could be slightly improved, but it's in line with a family-run business. We'll be back.

15/08/2025: Dinner with the family. We didn't use the rooms. As for the food, you have to like their vegan approach. For me (a carnivore), the appetizer was excellent, the first course was perhaps a bit too heavy, and the dessert was delicious. We didn't order the second course because we were too full. What's striking, however, is the tranquility of the place, a true oasis of peace just steps from the road. Add to that a lovely welcome from Francesca, and you've got a truly relaxing evening.

05/05/2025: Eating at Piccapane is a unique experience: a family environment surrounded by greenery where you can enjoy excellent vegan dishes prepared with attention and love. This was the feeling we felt yesterday at lunch, from the welcome from the very kind staff to the tasting of the dishes, in the choice of which we were carefully guided. The food is incredible, a joy of simple flavors with refined combinations. There is also a small shop where you can purchase their products. Finding an entirely vegan restaurant in Salento was a dream until recently. Piccapane is truly a virtuous example, spokesperson for a change that we hope will spread more and more. (access is also allowed to animals ❤️)

05/10/2025: It is not possible in 2025 to enter a bar, and after drinking, ask to go to the bathroom, in a tourist place and be told that they don't have a bathroom... shameful!!!

05/10/2025: Wow. Amazing cakes. Was still Warm pastry filled with ricotta and pistachio cream. Good choice of sweet and savory pastries. Lovely cappuccino to go with your cake. Not too expensive. Cappuccino and a cake 3.80!

01/09/2025: Delicious pizza, just like traditional pizza! The dough is light and easy to digest, with just the right amount of crunch that only a wood-fired oven can provide. You can immediately taste the fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bite is a pleasure, simple and authentic. You can tell there's passion behind every pizza. Highly recommended.

03/10/2025: Be careful with the order and the staff!!! I waited 40 minutes after ordering breakfast, finally I gave up on it! Unstable staff! Good coffee

18/09/2025: Terrible. A brief description: Terrible heat, no fan, super-simple and dry food, everything lacked flavor, the coffee wasn't great either, and the table kept moving. Those are the places where you sit down and can't wait to finish eating and leave.

05/10/2025: I recently returned after years, and perhaps I understood why I hadn't been there before: the wait was so long, and the food magically arrived only after requesting it. I tried home delivery again, but nothing happened. They just weren't on time (almost an hour's wait for 5 pizzas). But let's get to the pizzas. How can anyone think that chili powder is the added value of a diavola? And above all, do 8 slices of spicy salami make it a diavola? Cleaning the oven between batches would help prevent the flour from burning, which then sticks to the pizzas, making them bitter. Sorry for not posting a photo, but alas, I was hungry, so I ate it.

30/09/2025: I went for dinner on Saturday night with a group of friends; there were 10 of us. We sat outside. The place is very nice and welcoming. The pizza was excellent, very tasty, and they have a wide variety. We were very happy and will definitely be back soon. Thank you.

17/11/2025: The place, the staff, the wonderful food. You feel pampered, but with great professionalism. The dishes are a revisitation of our typical dishes, reworked with great skill. The price is in line with what's offered. 10 out of 10.

09/08/2025: We stopped by a few days ago and found the place closed despite it being listed as open. I removed the previous review (1 star) because the owners (I presume) replied that they were waiting for a call for tenders to reopen in September. So I asked to change the status to "temporarily closed," but the change was rejected, and the place continues to appear open. I'm updating the review now while I wait for the status to be updated.

29/08/2025: 9:00 PM We stopped for a quick bite to eat, asking if we could sit down, and there were free tables on a Saturday night. There were four of us, so we sat down and asked what the quickest thing to grab was because we had a commitment by 10:00 PM at the latest! They said fried panzerotti, and we said let's make them, emphasizing the importance of the hour... After 30 minutes, we asked a very young and inexperienced waitress how they were doing, but she never got an answer. After 10 minutes, we asked again without getting an answer. I approached the kitchen to apply pressure and at least get some answers... at 9:45 PM, the answer came back: "They're cooking." At 10:00 PM, given the lack of seriousness, we decided to pay for what we had ordered, that is, to have and leave.... Lo and behold, when it was time to pay, our much-desired panzerotti came out! Too late!!!! PS: if you have seats, you cannot give priority to takeaway!!!!

22/07/2025: So glad we walked away from the busy tourist section and found this bakery. Definitely local pick up spot for focaccia and sweet chocolate sweets. We had some kind of ham & vegetable “pie” that was amazing. Entire tab for four people was eight euro.

10/06/2025: An exceptional focaccia! During our visit to Alberobello, we discovered the Tagliente Bakery—a true local gem. We tried their grain focaccia, and it was simply delicious: soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, with an authentic taste and generous flavors. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and the place exudes artisanal tradition. A must-see for lovers of good bakery!

18/11/2025: A very beautiful, homely restaurant with attention to detail. The food is plentiful and delicious. I was invited to a birthday party and I must say everything was impeccable. The waiters were professional and quick in their service. I highly recommend it.
