25/04/2025: Excellent lunch. Friendliness of the staff. Correct price. Highly recommended

24/03/2025: It is now the sixth time, in the last 6 years, that I have returned to Bar à fromage. The service is always excellent, this time we also added a nice platter of local cured meats and cheeses to the raclette, followed by really good desserts. In my opinion the restaurant is among the best in the Aosta Valley, for the food, the service, the environment and the windows overlooking the slopes.

17/02/2025: Cibo ottimo, ambiente da favola. La pecca si deve al servizio. Dopo aver segnalato che sono vegetariana, mi portano un amusebouche con la carne, senza elencarla tra gli ingredienti in fase di descrizione. Alla mia domanda se fosse presente nel piatto, il cameriere risponde con titubanza: “No”, per poi contraddirsi poco dopo. Ritira la pietanza con un seccato: “Ah, va be’” e non mi offre alcuna alternativa. È evidente che si trattasse di un omaggio della casa, ma in ristoranti di questo calibro è la norma presentare un’entrée. Nel momento dell’ordinazione dei vini, si rivolgono esclusivamente al mio fidanzato, portano a lui la selezione e non mi degnano di parole o sguardi. Stessa prassi per quanto riguarda il conto: viene consegnato lo scontrino all’uomo, gli viene chiesto se ha inserito i contanti o il bancomat. Io ignorata. Il vino, sebbene fosse eccellente, presentava fondo. Sole tre scelte vegetariane nel menu (dopo aver ordinato una di queste, mi viene riferito che era terminata). Infine, ci viene addebitato un caffè in più sul conto (poi ci hanno restituito i soldi). Il parcheggio davanti al locale era pieno, consiglio di arrivare un po’ prima per cercarlo in altra sede. È doveroso tuttavia segnalare che il cameriere che ci ha seguito per l’ultima parte della cena è stato molto professionale, gentile e disponibile. Insomma, per i prezzi che ha questo ristorante, mi sono trovata male. La bontà del cibo e la suggestività della sala non sono stati sufficienti a coprire il pessimo servizio.

23/01/2025: A very beautiful hotel located at the gates of the Gran Paradiso National Park in a charming little mountain village. The staff is extremely welcoming, the rooms are typical (we are transported back in time), and the spa with numerous saunas and hammams allows you to relax while enjoying the view of the snow-capped mountains 🤩 The food is also excellent, whether at breakfast or in the many restaurants that the hotel offers. A magical, relaxing and timeless stay!

20/05/2025: We spent a day in Cogne, recommended by friends we entered this restaurant, in the center, we were welcomed by the staff with traditional Aosta Valley costumes, very kind they asked us if we had booked, but luckily it was a Friday in May with few people around and so they made us sit, it is advisable to book, we ate the Fondue Chinoise, very good, very tender meat served with a series of sauces, with a side of potatoes, rustic place all in wood, excellent prices quality ratio, we will return

11/05/2025: The place I'll come back! Food, service, atmosphere are above all expectations! Served for 7 people - fast, generous, the guys gave us great service and heavenly tasty food!

01/05/2025: The deer was delicious, so good. Although I will mention if you ask for it rare you might be scared by how rare it ends up looking. It is also a little pricy.

27/04/2025: What can I say, we found ourselves in Cogne almost by chance and almost by chance we entered this restaurant. You can't imagine the service and courtesy being at the top and the food could only be super. Little red circle in my diary of restaurants to return to.

11/09/2024: September 2024 - Location I consider among the most evocative as regards our Alps, face to face with the Gran Paradiso massif. Cuisine with traditional dishes from the Aosta Valley.... well-presented appetizers... excellent tomini in green sauce... pasta fresh...polenta...meat...game...trout...etc..etc..prepared with careful care and with excellent quality ingredients...plus for the stewed deer..A particular and subjective consideration despite the fact that it is a rich...substantial cuisine...congratulations to the...chef!!!!!...who..."tames everything"..with the result of tasty flavours, without excess...which they tempt you to try a few more. "Never..Very varied choice of options including desserts. Attentive service...and prepared...a round of applause for the pleasant welcome certainly from the owner and the entire team of collaborators. Highly recommended. .... already visited by me a couple of times... there will be no shortage of other sorties....Well done....!!!!!!!!

04/09/2024: There were 5 of us who took two plates of typical cured meats and cheeses, a Cogne sosa, polenta concia and mushrooms, polenta concia and trio of meats, trio and normal polenta and polenta and carbonada, a cream from Cogne. The typical dishes are rather small and miserable, two tiny pieces of cheese. The Sôsa is rather unrelated but quite good. The polenta concia is superb, the mushrooms abundant, the meat and carbonada good while the sausages are not as good as the rest. The polenta is excellent. The Cogne cream is good. Quick service, very friendly staff, we will be back. We spent €33 per person with water, wine and three coffees

03/01/2025: Ottimo ristoro in posizione strategica per chi va a passeggiare verso le cascate di Lillaz, il bar offre diverse proposte per quanto riguarda caffetteria panini e salumi, da non sottovalutare i panini speciali con il tomino caldo che sono davvero deliziosi. Il locale ha cambiato gestione da qualche mese, noi ci siamo andati anche quando era gestito dall'ex proprietario, ma la simpatia dei nuovi gestori e la qualità del servizio sono sempre ottimi!! Considerando anche la quantità di persone che ogni giorno frequenta il locale. Consigliato!!!

30/12/2024: Qui ho mangiato il panino più buono della mia vita! Gentilezza, cortesia e prodotti freschi! Davvero un’ottima scoperta!

06/04/2025: Sono rimasto assolutamente soddisfatto del pranzo in questo locale tipico in stile montano. Eccellente sia il primo di gnocchi di patate aromatizzato al timo, che il secondo di anatra aromatizzata in salsa d'arancia. Il personale è stato molto gentile e disponibile.

16/02/2025: Bellissimo locale,caldo,elegante e pulito. Tutti gentili,servizio veloce,cibo ottimo. Carbonada,piatto tipico valdostano,risotto ai porri super, bistecca valdostana e dulcis in fundo la crema di Cogne dolce tipico delizioso. Consigliatissimo

18/05/2025: It was 1:45 pm and the kitchen closed at 2:00 pm. Even though we were hesitant, they welcomed us with a smile and genuine kindness. We sat in the internal room and ate an appetizer with mocetta and excellent polenta (concia for my husband and with mushrooms for me). To end on a sweet note we tasted the typical Cogne cream Recommended place for its value for money!

03/01/2025: Excellent service from the waiters, very kind and attentive even with children. For the little ones there is a bib and cup with plate and cutlery on the table ♡ We ate wonderfully and given that it's good value for money we'll be happy to return. Go ahead like this!

02/11/2024: Beautiful location, excellent welcome and service. Excellent dishes and prices in line. Happy to have "fallen back" on this restaurant following the two of spades received from many other restaurants in Cogne which, despite obviously not being fully booked, claimed to be.

25/04/2025: Some time ago, my family and I came to eat in this small restaurant, which we had seen on the Borghese show. Disappointment, that the owner seen on TV was no longer there, now we don't know if the gentleman we found is still there, let's hope not!!! RUDE, unwelcoming. Advice...CHANGE JOB!!! To one of my requests, he responded so rudely that we later regretted not leaving immediately Bad food, annoying, inexperienced service, unpleasant and listless waiter. Worse than that!!! Money wasted, leaving with disappointment and a bitter taste in the mouth, because we hoped to make up for it with dessert. Two desserts, one of which they only had 2 more, so we couldn't take it all Tasted it... SUCKS!!! One star is already too much. Let's hope there are new owners. If so, we will definitely return, since it is located in beautiful Cogne

27/04/2025: Molto accogliente,personale gentile e sorridente. Abbiamo mangiato ristorante,tutto buono e prezzo onesto . Siamo andati due sere consecutive...se abitassimo lì sarebbe il nostro ristorante del cuore..molto familiare.

26/04/2025: After a very long queue at the Mont Blanc Tunnel, we finally arrived in Cogne, having left Paris this morning. At 10pm, tired and hungry, we fortunately found this place still open. The pizza was a very pleasant surprise: thin, crunchy and truly excellent. The staff, in particular (perhaps the owner), were super courteous and welcoming. We will definitely return and recommend it without hesitation!
