Le Bar à Fromage

08/03/2026: I ordered fondue (the restaurant's signature dish) for two, which wasn't bad in itself, but compared to four years ago, they "forgot" to bring me much of the dipping sauce. For €60, they served us a few thin slices of mocetta and a bowl of bread cubes... for two. When I asked for more, they brought me another bowl of bread, 20 minutes later with the fondue cold. The Bellevue (the owner) is an excellent 5-star hotel. This is my third year coming here, and I don't think the management of this restaurant is still up to par with its standard of service.
27/02/2026: The place is very cute and typical of the area.
The food is very good and not expensive, but the cheeses are a bit pricey for the quantity.
The polenta is also a bit pricey, but the other dishes are reasonably priced.
Overall, however, we found the quality/price ratio to be more fair than the competition.

06/03/2026: It's a very well-kept brasserie, both in its typically mountain decor and in the service. The staff is very courteous, reservations recommended.
05/03/2026: Excellent location, where I've been many times, with Aosta Valley decor and candles at every table that create a beautiful atmosphere.
I've tried practically all the dishes and I must say they're all delicious, although the chocolate fountain was disappointing last time, as the fruit wasn't exactly the best.
But all in all, it's a restaurant I recommend you try, and you'll find the staff very welcoming and friendly.

11/03/2026: Good restaurant, excellent wine selection and carefully prepared dishes, with high-quality products.
The staff were friendly and helpful; even without a reservation, they found a solution for us, which isn't for everyone.
01/03/2026: We spent three days in Cogne and had lunch at La Cave every day. The food was excellent quality, and the chef really knew his stuff. A nice bonus was the abundance of local products!
Our absolute favorites were the homemade gnocchi with Bleu du Val d'Aosta cheese and the panna cotta.
We didn't buy any wine, but they have a very wide selection of good bottles, both wines and liqueurs.
Gabriele kindly gave our son a small souvenir.

24/01/2026: We ate quite well, but unfortunately we found the portions a bit small. The dessert wasn't particularly special. The wine was excellent.
30/12/2025: A small, very welcoming restaurant with a wooden interior. There aren't many seats, so it's always a good idea to reserve a table. We went here for lunch and it was a great experience.
We had a mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses (all very good, especially the goat's blue cheese and the lard 🤤), while our friends had a tartare with a bagna cauda sauce, which was amazing.
We then had beef ribeye and a Valdostana steak (not breaded). There are also different off-menu options every day.
To finish, apple strudel with cinnamon ice cream and a pear bun with mulled wine.
Everything was absolutely delicious!!

27/02/2026: We made a reservation for four people on Friday at 1:00 PM. We walked slowly from the village with two elderly people, and when we arrived, the restaurant was closed and no one was answering the phone!! Despite our reservations,
Edit: The restaurant even thought it wise to WhatsApp me and send me an audio message insulting me for the review instead of an apology.

27/02/2026: We only had dinner, a full menu with a first course, second course, and dessert. Everything was excellent! Fast service and friendly, helpful staff. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Highly recommended.

Oggi dopo aver visitato Cogne ci siamo spostati in frazione Lillaz e ci siamo fermato per un break al bar ANAIS oltre alla cortesia ed alla gentilezza della signora Adriana abbiamo mangiato dei panini veramente ma non scherzo veramente eccezionali!!!!!
Quindi se siete da quelle parti non resterete delusi!!! Buon appetito

14/07/2025: Ho provato diversi panini gourmet del Bar Anais: tutti buoni, con ingredienti freschi e accostamenti di sapore molto ben riusciti. I panini gourmet sono caldi, con pane integrale croccante, ben farciti. Vale la pena assaggiarli. Li abbiamo accompagnati con un Radler (birra e limonata) fresco e dissetante.
L’ambiente è piacevole, con tavoli all’aperto e all’interno, nel centro di Lillaz, frazione facilmente raggiungibile da Cogne con navetta gratuita. Servizio gentile e cordiale, grazie alla nuova gestione.

29/09/2025: We had the pleasure of dining at the Valnontey restaurant in Cogne, and we can say without hesitation that it was an excellent experience.
🍽️ The menu features traditional dishes from the Aosta Valley, carefully prepared. In addition to a delicious appetizer of tomini, cured meats, and local cheeses, we sampled the creamy and enveloping fondue, the rustic and flavorful soça, and the famous Cogne crema con le tegole, a traditional dessert that ended the dinner on a perfect note.
🍷 The selection of Aosta Valley wines is extensive and well-cured. The Gamay we chose was a pleasant discovery: it paired perfectly with the dishes.
🎯 Attentive, courteous, and professional service made the experience even more enjoyable.
Excellent value for money.
Our only small flaw: the room was a little cold.
