05/04/2024: I normally never eat at a restaurant more than once on a vacation so I can visit as many as possible. I ended up eating here three times on our visit to assisi. The food and the atmosphere and staff are amazing.

06/04/2024: Wine shop located a stone's throw from Piazza Santa Chiara. My wife and I had lunch here on Easter day, the environment is truly beautiful and well-kept, warm and welcoming. The choice of decorated plates is also beautiful. The starters are excellent and the first courses are truly exceptional: exquisite lentil soup with top-quality oil, as are the pappardelle with wild boar with a truly exquisite sauce and the homemade pasta. High quality and vast choice of wines, both by the bottle and by the glass. Very friendly and helpful staff, fair prices for the quality.

07/04/2024: The location of the hotel is excellent, located between Santa Maria degli Angeli and Assisi, which can also be reached on foot, with a nice walk, or by bus. It also has a large free car park for those who prefer to travel by car. The rooms are functional and clean, but not very comfortable due to the very hard mattresses. The hotel's strong points are certainly the value for money and the restaurant, which offers a vast choice of excellent and plentiful typical Umbrian dishes. For those who are not looking for luxurious and/or modern facilities, but are instead looking for a reliable support to visit Umbria at affordable prices, this place is ideal. Last but not least there is also a swimming pool accessible during the summer period.

21/03/2024: Dinner with family on the 15th. Beautiful location enhanced by the floor-to-ceiling view of the "Domus Romana". Excellent appetizers with refined and quality products (such as Spello rice, pata negra, artichokes, cheese and eggs), the first and second courses are also good and worthy of mention (potato and nettle gnocchi with lamb sauce, spaghetti, tomato, vanilla and anchovies , goat's milk risotto with asparagus and savory), good cellar. Discrete but present, professional staff. The only note that is not up to par with the place and what is expected to close an excellent dinner are the desserts which I didn't actually have to make Wow, without praise or infamy. We will definitely return and it is worth recommending as much as a starred one

10/03/2024: La Locanda del Cardinale in Assisi is not just a restaurant, it is an experience. The environment is elegant and refined. The glass floor is enchanting and offers a suggestive view of the remains of a Roman Domus. The menu offers traditional Umbrian dishes reinterpreted in a modern key with great skill. The flavors are authentic and the raw materials of the highest quality. I had the opportunity to taste several dishes, all delicious and carefully prepared. The presentation of the dishes is impeccable and the attention to detail is noticeable. The professionalism in the service makes everything even more pleasant. If you want to enjoy a high-level culinary experience in a unique and evocative context, this is the right place. The price is adequate for the quality of the food and service.

03/03/2024: Incantevole location ai piedi del Bosco di S. Francesco con pareti in pietra viva ed un bel camino al piano superiore. La cucina offre i tipici piatti della cucina umbra ma ad eccezione dell'antipasto misto di ottimi affettati e formaggi accompagnati da una buona focaccia, i primi (caramelle di pasta quasi crudi) e soprattutto il secondo di carne mista alla brace (salsiccia e costine di maiale ed agnello di formato mignon e bruciati) hanno deluso le aspettative. Personale gentile e professionale. Rapporto qualita'-prezzo mediocre.

11/02/2024: Cibo della tradizione umbra, buona la carne ed ottima la qualità dei prodotti. Vale la pena puntare sui piatti tipici, sicuramente il coniglio alla cacciatora va provato

12/01/2024: Had a New Year's Eve dinner in 2023. Ate a starter of bruschetta, first courses of strangozzi with porcini mushrooms and truffles, tagliatelle with wild boar, typical desserts. Excellent cuisine, normal prices. A little cramped but dignified environment. Right in the center, you can go on foot!
