01/07/2025: We were there for the first time this year and were very surprised by how beautiful it is. The rooms with balconies offer a wonderful view of Schenna, Merano and the valley almost as far as Bolzano. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very clean. There is a swimming pool with a sunbathing lawn, everything is perfect. When the weather is good, breakfast and dinner are served on the covered terrace. The food is delicious, both for breakfast and the four-course dinner menu. The staff are very friendly and the owner and his family are very nice. We can highly recommend this hotel. The location and the fantastic view of the valley alone are worth a visit. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel where a bus to Merano leaves every 20 minutes. The bus ticket, the Meran Card, is included in the price of the booking and is valid for the entire duration of your stay. This card also allows you to use the trains to Bolzano and Mals. The cable car to Soprabolzano is also free with this card. You get a discount on other cable cars with this card. We didn't need our car during our entire stay. This certainly wasn't our last visit. 19/06/2025: Last bus stop, from there you can take a leisurely hike or walk to the cable car and take the ride up. The hotel is a bit old but well-kept and clean. It offers a great breakfast, and the food from the menu was beautifully presented and tasted really good. I really enjoyed my stay.

07/07/2025: Nice wine tavern, a small but fine menu, and good food. The veal head was a bit on the small side, but the taste was excellent!

06/07/2025: The food was very good, but the prices were rather high! The ravioli was more like an appetizer, but very tasty. No reservations were possible, so we got there very early to get a seat in the beer garden. The food was better than it was two years ago.

29/06/2025: I went to Tirolo for a 12-day motorcycle vacation in 2022, and at least 10 of those I ate at "Schlecht'n Seppl." It was a truly wonderful experience, the way I was greeted and served. The food was simply fantastic; we ate the entire menu; there was nothing to complain about. Now I'm on vacation with my wife in the Passeier Valley, and today, despite the distance to Tirolo, I ate there for the second time. Nothing has changed; yesterday, on our first visit, Philip actually recognized me after three years of abstinence, and we immediately felt at home again. Please keep up the good work, Philip, I will always come back to eat at your restaurant. Best regards, Ralf

13/05/2025: We had lunch at the Bergasthof Oberhochmut again. A fantastic view, a wonderful family business, and a very friendly, natural hostess who knows her craft perfectly. (That's what a trained chef says.) No frills, generous portions, fresh food, and exquisite flavors; my grandmother couldn't have cooked it better. We had the lamb's liver and the roast lamb, simply divine. With that, a freshly tapped beer—that's heaven on earth in South Tyrol! We'll definitely be back! We'll never understand why the mainstream prefers the Gasthof Hochmuth en masse. But that's fine with us; we always get a dream spot.

04/06/2025: A truly worthwhile excursion! Starting with the Hochmuth lift, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Merano and the Etschtal Valley along the way. From the mountain station, a beautiful, approximately 25-minute hiking trail leads to the Talbauer – easy and well-signposted. Once you arrive at the Talbauer, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality and fantastic South Tyrolean cuisine. The dumplings are a particular highlight – fresh, homemade, and simply delicious. The service was also attentive, quick, and extremely friendly. After refreshments, you'll leisurely continue the approximately 3 km return journey to the valley station, accompanied by stunning panoramas. Conclusion: A perfect half-day excursion with guaranteed enjoyment – ​​nature, good food, and great people. Highly recommended!

20/04/2025: The hosts and staff are very nice, accommodating and helpful. The house is in a great location, although the journey is a bit difficult. But the peace and the view make up for it. Nice breakfast buffet and very nice and tasteful 5 course menu in the evening. The house is highly recommended. I hope we come back again.

17/04/2025: Rating only for food, ambience and service. All highly recommended. Before the renovation, it was ok. But now really chic. The pool area is also better than it was 6 years ago. This year we just stopped in and stuffed ourselves.

09/07/2025: A lovely experience, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and dinner, average rooms, but with a lovely flower-filled balcony. Excellent location for visiting Merano and the surrounding area, nestled in a small, very quiet village, but with all the services, bars, and restaurants.

07/07/2025: This lovingly run hotel never fails to impress us. The decor is very tasteful, the food is excellent, the staff are all very friendly, and—not to mention—the view is a dream! A vacation in a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere!

25/06/2025: The family-run hotel has excellent cuisine and a wonderful dining area in the restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley and Merano. The pool area is also very nice, with a view of two castles and the valley to Merano. I stayed in the very nice room 101 on the south side with a fantastic view of Merano.
